This was absolutely my favorite green ink of all time...when it was fresh. Age has not been kind to the color, but the performance hasn't changed. Bottle, of course, is STUNNING. Seal on the glass stopper could be better, but that's a pretty minor caveat. I got mine directly from TTLB, but it's also available at Galen Leather, who are using the creepynibs first impressions on their product page! I don't recall them asking and they haven't offered to send me stuff yet buuuut... Cool? I guess?

Love it! 😂 Haaahaaaaaa! I would totally come back as a ghost - pissed that I didn't use all my ink! 🤣 I'll come back for my ink and my wine! LMAO! So much variation in your painting. Can't believe they're same color. Wild!

Love the original color! I’d guess that oxidation has taken place changing the color. Good advice to use all of our inks! Love your artwork and the thorough review!

This is fascinating! I love the old green best, but the new version is pretty too. I’m also glad you waited to do this video because it is so crazy how much color change there is and in what ways. Your artwork is stellar and the review is great. This ink is so beautiful. I don’t think I will ever use my ink in a timely manner. 😹 Hopefully the results are as good as yours. 🤘🏼😸🧡

You're totally right! I wish I could say I procrastinated on purpose buuuuut...oh wait this is the internet, I can say whatever I want! Yep totally meant to wait that long, absolutely, mmhmm. 😉 I should dig out some old samples and see what's become of them, might have some surprises! And I could live another 800 years and never be able to use all of everything I have 😂😂😂

The long awaited video. The original green is beautiful but the green you have now is still pretty lovely. Love the artwork as well.
I will try to use what I have, because if I die tomorrow, it’s all going to you. 😂😂😂 feel free to share it as necessary.

Hi Creepy Nibs....do you think you would ever do a video showing your artwork only? I would love to see a video on that. Your artwork is so eye-catching, but also a depth to it. There have been several that are quite mesmerizing. 💚....Stacy

Funny you say that...I wonder where all my pens & ink will go. ( I have a health condition that could cause sudden death, and I'm 58.) Other than TH-camr's, I don't know anyone personally that uses fountain pens.

Thank you so much! 😭 I might do a video on them at some point, but I kind of want to build up a better collection first. I don't usually flex my creative muscles unless I'm doing these reviews, working on fixing that! Glad you like them though, I hope you get plenty more time with pen and inky goodness! 🖤🖤🖤

It’s interesting and that the oxidation paused when it applied paper. The bottle design encourages air introduction into the ink. You could try mixing some yellow ink into. It’s so pretty!

Right? Fascinating. I still have to fool around with proportions, but Iroshizuku Hotaru-bi seemed to bring it back to life quite nicely!

Iron gall ink oxidizes, so I would expect it to change in the bottle over time, unless the bottle is totally air tight, and I doubt most ink bottles are. I've seen this with the iron gall ink I made -- it started off pretty light, like maybe a dark sepia, but now it's a dark charcoal in the bottle. On paper, it seems to darken to its blackest black within a couple minutes, but I don't perceive any change after that. But... well I made some pretty basic iron gall ink, not this beautiful fancy stuff with color.
I loved this video, no surprises there. Both of those art pieces are sooooo good.

Oh I knew that, I just wasn't expecting such a dramatic shift in hue 😅 but yeah, the glass stopper isn't nearly tight enough to prevent that in any capacity. I was surprised the ink on the page didn't shift at all over time!

The original color reminds me strongly of Private Reserve Avocado; I've never seen it change color, and my bottle is seven years old. Of course it doesn't have the same water resistance, but interestingly the green will wash off and leave behind a very legible brown-pink! My major question for the Tools To Live By Green is, does it have the heavenly KWZ vanilla smell, or do the iron galls smell different?

I'll have to get a sample of that at some point! I think I wanted to a looong time ago but I was mad they used to spell it Avacado 😂😂😂 Definitely looks close though, thanks for the recommendation! 🖤
I haven't given it a good whiff, but if there is a smell, I haven't noticed it. It might just be their regular line with the scent.
