No, the USB dongle is for supplying power to the unit, the 3.5 mm jack is for transferring the sound to your car or speaker through (aux) port. A pen drive stores data it doesn't have any power for the Bluetooth dongle.
I will tell you what. Mine works well without ever recharging it again and still works to these day. Although it's a bit expensive in any online shopping websites.
