@craigjewell6230 I love that idea of 3x3 as a relationship goal. And if you're looking after a key account, engaging with 9 stakeholders isn't to much to manage. Could be 3 people from finance, 3 people from operations and 3 people from procurement for example? Is that the idea? I'm definitely going to borrow that strategy! Thank you!
Thank you! I'm new to Account Management and want to understand how I could grow in this field. I feel awkward when checking in because I don't know what quite to ask. These questions were extremely helpful!
You're on the right track if you're doing your own research and willing to learn. Check out my blog - there's lots of articles there, including a round up of 20 free courses for account managers. Glad it was helpful! And any time!! Filming some more videos this weekend so should be some new content next week. Any topics you're especially interested in?
Thank you for your videos, landed a KAM post recently, been binging on your videos, so helpful. Could you possibly share insight on growth/career path for KAMs?
You're welcome and I'm so glad you enjoyed the videos and they've helped you settle in to your new job. Funny you should mention a video on career paths for KAMs because I did a podcast episode called "Life after Key Account Management. What Happens Next?" on my podcast. It has triple the downloads of the other episodes so clearly a topic of interest, so I plan on expanding it and turning it into a video soon. But in the meantime you can listen here: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/life-after-key-account-management-what-happens-next/id1623632187?i=1000588085069
💯 Explaining how things work is why clients have account managers - it's our job. And it's Ok not to know everything. You just need to know how to find out!
I couldn't agree more! Relationship, relationship, relationship. 3 wide and 3 deep in each account is a good goal.
