      i have found engines don't need workers, set the hauling priority to high and employment to low the haulers run them without a worker in the building.

      A stepped down pump "chain" would be tremendously cheaper and easier !
      More smaller pumps rather than expensive and complicated ones..

    In the next update for Timberborn they're going to remove district limits, in other words, you'll only need a single district no matter the size of the map! Of course you can still add districts to make things more efficient. You should start a new season when the mods update for the 4.0 update!

    • @sheepco
      @sheepco ปีที่แล้ว +41

      100% agreed! I love engibury, but def something new for the next update

    • @graham1034
      @graham1034 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Is this actually true? It's my main complaint about the game and the reason I never end up getting far into the late game. Just too tedious to manage multiple districts.

    • @nautdead3197
      @nautdead3197 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Switched to experimental just to use this. It's great makes setting up new districts easy because you can build them up 1st then put the district centers in.

    I’m sure you already know this, but a really really easy way to increase your beavers happiness on your other Timberborn season is to fill in any little empty spaces with shrines or shrubs. I think shrines are 2x1 and shrubs are 1x1 but if you don’t shrines into small empty spaces and put a shrub by each barrack and some work buildings, your beavers live longer and work faster! It costs next to nothing too. You can also put working beaver statues along arterial infrastructure to get a bunch of beavers in effect without doing too much. Those have a big effect. It would be really cool if someone from your community modded the statues to have beaver statues or beavers to have hard hats too. Big fan !

    • @AdmiralStoicRum
      @AdmiralStoicRum ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh my God Beaver hard hats, yes like the iron teeth have more construction worker type hard hats and the foxtails have like pith helmets that'd be cool

  • @michaels.3709
    @michaels.3709 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    One way to quickly increase happiness is to build 1-height platforms over busy path intersections and putting beaver ststues, roofs, shrubs, etc on top.

    You don't need to delete the piles, you can build over them and they will move to the next free square / pile onto each other etc, and be collected (once you have storage for them) eventually :D

    I recently bought timberborn and didn't realize with the folktails that the population scales with the number of beds, so I had 40+ beavers in a district that could hold only 19 and ran through all my water two days before the drought. I scrambled to save my district one but lost my second district from the lack of water

    I've done this a few times, the Beaverome map is full of these. I tend to just use standard water pumps to do this, and layer them up if it's quite deep, rather than going for the late game big pumps.

    I'm surprised he would make an architect level mistake with the iron golems, he only actually needs a huller post and the haulers will provide the fuel with no additional workers necessary. Of course reducing the work priority is also important.

  • @jacksonstarky8288
    @jacksonstarky8288 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    A question for RCE or anyone else playing the game: Are Timberborn's evaporation physics the reason why a floodgate across the water outflow on a map doesn't retain the water through the entire dry season? And a second question: Is there a mod that disables the evaporation physics? And a third question related to the second: Are Timberborn's devs planning to add support for Steam Workshop and mods anytime soon? Because I've tried a couple of mod managers and can't get mods running at all.

    • @TheBlastMage
      @TheBlastMage ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, water evaporates at a pretty steady rate, losing 1 full tile's worth of water across the whole map after 10 or 15 days or so. This makes deeper water better than wider water as even a 100x100 lake that's 1 tile deep will be gone before a hard mode dry season is over. but a 10x10 lake that's 4 tiles deep will hold water for almost two dry seasons assuming you aren't pumping water out.
      as for mods, i've no idea, i've barely touched them.

    • @incinerator5861
      @incinerator5861 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The evaporation rate is 0.045 per day so 22.22 days for one block

    • @GwionWilliams
      @GwionWilliams ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are no mods that disable evaporation, and it's unlikely that there ever will be. Timberborn is unlikely to ever have Steam workshop support. To the best of my knowledge there are no plans for that at all.

  • @Pimpemon
    @Pimpemon ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I get why this video exist but it really didn't have to. You could have just built the dam walls directly around the dig site and the path leading to it. it looks close enough that it shouldn't need it's own district so all that extra space is not needed.
