Very cool. Years ago, I was probably 12 or 13, (1962, I think) . My father bought me a quarter midget. We didn't have any organized racing in the area, unfortunately. But, Dad fired it up and just had me drive circles around our house. An hour or two later, my mother got home and there was, where grass used to be, a track cut into our yard. The ruts in the corners were so deep, Dad could never again get them leveled out. Hadn't thought of that it many, many years, so thank you Mrs. Holmes for the pleasant reminder.

I still race bmx ( as an old dude) and get so annoyed when parents yell ”pedal pedal pedal” at their kids, but they have zero track experience and have no idea what they are talking about. Yes, you should have a mom vs dad race!

Now, I know the winters are BRUTAL,. but DANG, southern Oregon is BEAUTIFUL!!! And to actually have seasons, too. We have 2, hotter than hell, and cold!! LOL!! You really are living the dream!!! Oh, And BTW, your mom is AWESOME!!! LOVE IT!!!!
@@TannerHolmes I grew up in Klamath Falls. We'd go to the Medford area to warm up! People were out mowing lawns there, while we still had snow piled up in the streets. They'd be racing in Medford, but not over in K. Falls for a while!
All of your videos are so great, and this one, especially, was so much fun, stuffing Mom into the race car! No wonder you and Carly do so well at the races - you have your own race track to practice at, right there at home. How big is the track? I'd guess about 1/8 mile. I wish I would have had the same relationship with my parents when i was racing. My Dad was a modified driver back in the day, (1967), And I let him drive my mini sprint in 86 and the grin on his face will never be forgotten when he climbed out. he passed away a few months later. So as I watched your video I was so happy for you and Carly I cried...i dont know why this posted twice, hmmmm.

Tanner, Your mom is like 21 or 22?!? That would put her in the delivery room when she was like, 5 tops. :) My mom would never fit into my racing suits. But she did sew them up for me from scratch. Of course, that was back in the '50s racing Quarter Midgets.
I’m really curious at what speed the wing starts to take effect. The thing most new people have trouble understanding is race cars are designed to be driven at high speeds. Once the suspension is loaded and aero take effect then it becomes much more stable.
@@TannerHolmesright. The frame IS the suspension. Also I noticed the upper frame/cage seems to flex independently on outlaw karts. I have a theory why but maybe you could shed some light on this?

Yes Southern Oregon is great. We have 90-105 in the summer, and snow in the winter!

These cars don’t have suspension. I do think in karts tho the wing is a huge deal. Obviously more at full throttle then my moms pace lol
