Kathiew | Cambodian Noodle Soup Recipe

  • *serving size- 4
    Ingredients:
    - rice noodles (the same noodles used for pho)
    - pork femur bones or any pork bones
    - 1/2 an onion
    - 1 medium carrot
    - 1 small dried squid
    - 1 1/2 tsp of salt
    - 1 tbsp of fish sauce
    - 1/2 tsp of msg (optional)
    - 2 tsp of chicken bouillon
    - 1 tsp of sugar (added in the end after tasting broth)
    Ingredients for meat toppings:
    - 1/2 lb of ground pork
    - 1/2 lb. of pork shoulder butt
    - 1/2 lb. beef eye round
    - 1 pack of pork or beef meatballs
    - 1 tsp of salt and sugar
    (shrimp and squid can also be added as toppings)
    Garnishes:
    - sliced green onions
    - chopped cilantro
    - fried garlic (can be homemade by frying garlic in vegetable oil until it becomes golden brown)

      MSG is perfectly fine. the controversy over it is completely fabricated.
