Hi Robert. Not unique by any means, but not that common. Quite common on older Italian classes of loco, although most now withdrawn with some still survivors around. Class 620 - I think a preferred choice for the many curves found on the Swiss system.
The class 460 Locos were bulit by SLM Winterthur for use on the Gotthard route due to wheels able to run along the tight curve of the line well today they found all over Switzerland hauling freight trains but I think their days in service are numbered I think.
