    Another great cab ride with good quality pictures. I can imagine accountants look at the number of tracks at RBL and think they could do something better with the space. I hope the importance of rail freight, that can be powered by any future clean energy source, will continue to be a priority for Switzerland.

    Thank you for an interesting and very informative video on the trip ,I'm gobsmacked by the size of the industries track side as well as the new track construction , which goes to prove that rail IS more important to industries than road alone. Well done and a big thank you for sharing ,loved every minute of it. TG

    Aarau looks quite an interesting station, with the narrow gauge tracks next door, and some interesting new construction seems to have been going on recently. Interestingly pointy building above the tunnel entrance.
    That catch point at the end of the platform is pretty uncompromising; straight into a concrete block!

    Great video as always! By the length of the train you mentioned it must have been about 2 or 3 wagons. And to have a Re 620 hauling it must be so cool. I liked how you were halted few times to let other trains pass, once even for another freight train to pass! Thanks for the lovely video :)

    On the plus side, it is reasonably short. A TH-cam competitor just added an almost five hour clip. Still good to watch in parts. On the minus side (but not much), mostly urban/industrial parts of Switzerland. I know this question has been asked before, but how do you get home? And would you be willing to share what area or city you live in? Your clips are very nice eye candy and much cheaper than getting on an airplane...lol

    • @RailwayEmotions
      @RailwayEmotions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My first longer videos were also in parts, since I thought people prefer a video in parts over an extremely long video. But I stopped doing that a while back, so you'll find some videos on this channel with over 3 hours of length. The viewer should decide how long he or she is going to watch a certrain video. That being said, there is no part 2 of this video. This was our part of the trip and the rest of it was done by a colleague which arrived later at the train. Depending on the working hours we travel on passenger trains or by car, bike, foot... depends on how far it is to the depot. Let's say I live in a quite comfortable situation and live in an adequate distance to a few of depots of us. ;-)

  • @anmolmehta7116

    A lovely cabride through the heart of Switzerland. Your train must be consisting of only two or three freight cars, which is pretty short in itself. There was another freight train which passed us consisting of only two cars, which is considered to be very short. What are your future plans for your uploading videos?

  • @zoqaeski
    @zoqaeski 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This was quite an interesting video. The general public rarely gets to see the industrial sidings and marshalling yards, or the shunting operations so necessary for rail freight.
    Have you ever considered doing a collaboration with lorirocks777? The two of you are (presumably) Swiss train drivers who film their journeys, and you both seem to cover roughly the same parts of Switzerland. There have been a few instances where both of you have uploaded a video covering the same route within a couple of days of each other.

    • @RailwayEmotions
      @RailwayEmotions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I do know about his channel, but we don't know eachother in person. If we really both covered the same route within a few days in between, then all I can say for my part is - sorry ;-) It takes quite a lot of work and time to prepare, film, edit and upload these videos. It's almost impossible to see another TH-camr doing route x and then copying the same thing a few days later. And it wouldn't make much sense, either. I'm pretty confident we share a lot of the viewers/subscribers and nobody would be satisfied watching the same thing twice in a week.

    • @zoqaeski
      @zoqaeski 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@RailwayEmotions I actually thought it was pretty amusing and rather coincidental. Both of you put in a tremendous amount of effort to record and share these videos, and as someone who isn't likely to be able to actually visit Switzerland anytime soon, the more the merrier :)

    The last stages of the run from Olten are full of interest; industrial facilities and warehouses everywhere, all with rail connection. Is that a permanent way depot on the right around 49:00? and looks like a Swiss Post distribution depot on the other side of the line?

    • @RailwayEmotions

      On the right is one of the main facilities of SBB where they build tracks and switches (and more). To the left is one of the Swiss Post centers (Härkingen).

    Just a guess. Train is food products and the added wagon are the train of Cargo wagons and shunting loco we just passed on the left?

    • @RailwayEmotions
      @RailwayEmotions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Our train does not carry any food and nothing is uncoupled there, the few wagons we have are bound for Lausanne Triage. You're probably right with the cargo wagons on the left, but I can't confirm this for sure - we usually get away from the spot (on a passenger train) before they start shunting and coupling.

    Die ungewöhnlich rumpelnden Fahrgeräusche - wie sie z:B. von alten Tatzlager-Antriebsachsen verursacht werden - machten mich auf das Fahrwerk der verwendeten Re 620 aufmerksam. Prompt fand ich bei Wikipedia de.wikipedia.org/wiki/SBB_Re_6/6 die Achsformel Bo'Bo'Bo', was heißt die mittleren Achsen befinden sich nicht in je drei-achsigen Drehgestellen, sondern zusammen auf einem zwei-achsigen in der Lokmitte. - Heinz
