Following hearing on the news that it could possibly close soon due to the municipality revamping the Durban promenade. I paid a visit to Mini Town.
Mini Town is a mini-city housing a miniature replica of Durban scaled down to 1:24. It is located in Snell Parade on North Beach. It is an excellent way to tour the entire city in minutes and get a unique perspective on its skyline and neighbourhoods. It is an enjoyable location to visit, especially for children.
The historical buildings and monuments are well represented, and their architecture can be viewed closely through this attraction. The most popular features include the constantly running electric trains, the airport with miniature aeroplanes and the draw bridge, which lifts periodically to let the boats through.
It would be sad if it actually goes away but if it does I think that its good that we will have this video as a remembrance of what it was.
