South Africa's development seems to be mainly centred around shopping malls while other public services remain very basic.

@@cxlappsed1548It's a first world country within a third world country.
If I'll look up real estate in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town etc. I'll find houses, well mansions, you'd never find in my home country of Germany. Which is considered a first world country by every means.
There's still a mostly White elite and upper-middle class, living a pretty well-off life. And because the police isn't a force to trust on, they have the by far largest private security sector in the world. Which is also a way for all the former policemen and soldiers of the old government, to still have employment and use their set of skills.
Of course there are the cruel and unforgivable farm murders. And from time-to-time a car hijacking/robbery goes wrong. But for the most part, the White community _(and the new Black upper/middle-class)_ is shielded from all the horrible crimes, mostly related to the drug trade. These crimes happen in areas like the Cape Flats or townships.
So for the most part this class, has a higher living standard than the average Westerners _(North Americans/Europeans)._
Now with the power shortage, this class is feeling the real consequences of a rotten political system for the first time. Because it also effects their after-94 created bubble.

I am afraid to say but I guess it's true, it helps that S.A. is a rainbow nation we still have a lot of white people here and the second place with the most Indians in the world is Durban in South Africa

    • @SegunMichael-t5q

Why must you mention Nigeria to make reference to your point? You don't explore by yourself but have countlessly been indoctrinated by the media to believe that South Africa is the only developed country in Africa. A country where there is a high level of inequality shouldn't be a place to be boastful about.
