Tour of Durban - South Africa

- From its all year round warm Indian ocean to its modern buildings. I go on a tour of my city of Durban on a Rickshaw bus. The tour moved along the beach front showing the Hotels and attractions along the beach road, then we see Durban's harbour and oldest train station. The bus moves along the CBD showing many streets busy with people going about their business. I get a 180 degree view of the city then drive pass a few popular attractions the people of Durban enjoy visiting. To end the video I take a walk on the promenade.

Hello all, my name is Sumeran Govender. I am from Durban, South Africa.
Durban, a coastal city on the east coast of South Africa.
Durban is the third biggest city in South Africa by population and is situated in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Fun fact……. Durban has the largest Indian population outside of India.
I started this channel in November 2022. Follow me for camping adventures where I will be exploring my city and trying to see if I can manage to keep myself fed with various recipes that I will try in each video.
Equipment used:
Video - Samsung S21 Ultra
Audio - Rode VideoMic Go II
Sumeran, I did this tour today, my mum is 76 today and she really enjoyed it. Afterwards we went to Jeera restaurant in Suncoast to have a birthday lunch. Thank you so much for the idea from your video. Was a wonderful memorial experience. My mum grew up in Durban, used to walk and shop the streets, it was a different world back then. Thank you.
My pleasure 🙏. I'm glad you and your mum had a good time
I ENJOY your videos.
Left there in 1979 and didn't get to see my beloved Durban. Thanks!!!
So nostalgic.
😢
Where does the bus start from ....how much does it cost how long is the drive etc....all those little details you could have put in Sumeran. You can up your game as a vlogger a lot more still.
I left the city 36 years ago - the city has changed considerably and places are barely recognizable! Best wishes to Durbanites from Canada 🥰
Wow that was in the late 1980s. Yeah there a lot of new buildings and attractions that came up recently. Thanks for watching 😁
South Africa as a whole has changed a lot you must return home
@@Everything-Emkayif he left because he didn't want to live with free and prosperous Africans?
@@simphiweclement4656did he say that? , there could be many other reasons. I left 23 years ago because of work related reasons. Does race have to be brought into everything for you people.
@@simphiweclement4656 you never know, could be any reason including childhood reasons… and prosperous where? most people aren’t… and not everyone is free either
Durban's golden mile and beaches are fantastic , I just wish we had the best possible people in charge . Capetown has nothing on durbs .
Plus, year-long warm weather 😊
Remember the Maharani/Elangeni/ Blue Waters etc. Family still lives on the Beachfront....A great city. Rosa Larsen

Hi Simphiwe, I am glad you enjoy my videos. Thank you for watching
Excellent video. I've been to Durban twice (1985 and 1987). It is beautiful. Who knows I might be back there someday again. Very good tour. As a photographer I suggest stopping a bit more in some places like markets, harbour, city centre in popular shopping spots where passengers may take some photos. Congratulations and greetings from São Paulo, Brazil.
Hi Fernando, thank you for watching. I'm guessing a lot has changed since your last visit. Plus thank you for your advice, much appreciated 🙏

Just saw your video. We will be visiting Durban very soon. What is the best way to go to hotel from the King Shaka Airport? Is it safe to take a taxi in the night as we will be reaching late night. Thanks
Hello I think there are taxis at the airport which you can use. I never actually traveled from the airport to anywhere, but Uber is a second option
Which year w this so clean and peaceful
It was this year 2023
hi thanks for the taking the time to showcase our beautiful land and historical sites....i would appreciate it if you could mention... the costs thats payable for camping per night...times of checking in and out...thanks
Sure will do 😀
city seems to have smooth traffic, is it the case always?
Usually smooth most of the time
@@SumeranGovender great!!! Watching from Singapore.
How i can booking for that trip
😢from were do we get this bus from
It's on the beach road at Durban.
Hello sumeran.. please don't use that background music again.
If the government could/Would fix and maintain the water contamination problem (sewage leaking into the ocean) and the air pollution, it would attract a lot of tourism and new residents, which would bring in more money.
Awesome
