I have the 5 disc 4k set coming so definitely excited to dive in. I’ve not seen all these films (some yes) but hearing this I’m more excited to dive back into this universe
My Walmart 4k steel was delivered today. It's the only one of them I have in a steelbook, but I couldn't pass up that artwork.
Still waiting on mine 😤
got mine yesterday…a day early and unlike the slipcover 4K edition that Ken has, the Walmart steelbook does have a blu disc included.
This movie made $570 million worldwide. Pretty solid on a $135 million budget
Monster-verse is new Marvel. Will crash in a few years except overseas in Asian Market. Worst movie so far in the U.S. Godzilla/Kong.
@scaps2200 every franchise crashes at some point. Then goes dormant for a bit and restarts. I think the MV has more staying power than Marvel since they are taking more time between films and not just turning out stuff for the sake of it
@@scaps2200 One of the best movies in the U.S. Godzilla/ Kong film. You are dead wrong!
Would prefer a Minus One 4k :D
From what I've read, a US release with English dubs should be out sometime this Summer.
My only complaint is I wish we had a version of the box art where Godzilla is more prominent. I'm much more of a Godzilla fan.
Really enjoyed this film. Made the sub rumble. Very little plot, great effects, very noisy. Just how i like them these days! 🤣. Thanks Ken @physicalmedia
It’s a fun movie . Definitely worth a watch if you like the other movies in the series. I liked the previous film a bit more though.
Thanks for the reply and I love the work you do on your channel. Keep the physical media alive!
Thank God warner bros is doing terminator 4k, is going to look amazing and I bet is going to have Dolby atmos
And 1 disc and no extras. Warner brothers is the worst
@@Beetleejuiceeno extras is really bad but they are not going to license this tittle to arrow or other boutique label so I guess is better than Disney or paramount
Ken super off topic but you have a tshirt that’s been living rent free in my brain for weeks and I need the source hahaha. It’s “the smell of physical media in the morning” tshirt 🔥🔥🔥plssss😭
I picked up the steel book from my local Walmart, it was a order pickup, I am surprised they let me do it early, since it isn’t supposed to be released until Tuesday
It made about 600000 at box office. I think that it highly successful.
Wasn’t really speaking on its success at the box office. Just felt like the conversation surrounding it was non-existent. Maybe that’s a good thing though?
@@midlevelmedia idk. I felt like it was talked about a lot. But you may be right. I don’t know if it’s a good thing but I did enjoy it.
Hey what soundbar do you have buddy?
Visually this movie is stunning
I went to go see the film once at the theater and now my copy of the Walmart steelbook arrived. This is the only Monsterverse film I have on steelbook since I only got into buying steelbooks a year ago. One day I'll need to upgrade the other Monsterverse films onto 4K as they're DVD only right now except Godzilla vs Kong which I own on bluray.
This is my father's day gift excited to watch it.
Is this the first time you have seen this movie ❓🤔 It sounds like you really liked it Ken and thought the picture was awesome 😎 that's Cool.👍🤓 I saw it three times in the theater and am waiting for my Steelbook to arrive. 👍👏👏
Ken, was the copy your reviewed a free review copy? If yes, then would you still have bought it if your hard earned money was on the line or would you wait for a sale?
Dude this is the most profitable Godzilla movie ever. Maked over 500million
Highest grossing King Kong movie too
I got my Godzilla x Kong 4K slip at Target & it looks amazing!
The movie did pretty well at the movie theatre. Almost $200 million in the US and $570 worldwide. It is considered a success. I saw it in the theatre and it was fun.
My friend loves this movie
Waiting on the Walmart 4k Steelbook to become available...still not available at the moment 😢
I just picked up the complete series of Game of Thrones blu ray brand new for only 10 dollars. What's your best deal you got for a physical media release?
$10 ! 😮
Isn't that the film was filmed for IMAX? So, we also don't get the film in the IMAX aspect ratio of 1.90?
I love this new gofzilla release but I'm more hyped for the Shrek 4 film 4k collection or is it just me ❤️ 😍
This is a definite Black Friday deal I’ll pick up in Nov 🎉
It definitely didn’t die down in a week, it had great legs at the theater. 2nd biggest movie of the year so far, such an awesome monster movie!
Fair enough. Just felt like the conversation surrounding the movie died off very quickly. At least in the circles I operate in.
How do you all get these early?
I'm looking forward to my 4k Steelbook from Walmart.👍😎
Dolby Vision/Atmos is the selling point here, movies look sharp and pop out on the screen and the sound tracks are superb, the audio depth is theater grade. It's worth the investment to upgrade to a 4k Dolby Vision/Atmos TV and disk player. I agree with 'Godzilla vs. Kong' being used as a calibration reference, the color palette is immense and 'Godzilla x. Kong' will be just as useful. Sub'd! 😁👍
Such a Kaiju Gojira & Kong fan, and seen this film on IMAX, but like you say, the story is lacking. The battles were short lived, and it left me wanting. Godzilla vs. Kong was better for me. I'll probably get it to add and support this franchise, but Godzilla Minus One is what I'm after...
Cheater - lol... I'll get mine tomr... Yeah, i'm getting the WM version... But i Still here about Minus One.... AWEsome, news....
watched this today, best way to describe it.... "popcorn lobotomy"
And watch G Minus One for something with more substance😎
I m sorry but we need humans in the movie to make the movie better when you see human do stuff and figure things about these titans and what they can do it good but if they can make movie longer with more monsters in it with humans that would be awesome
Godzilla has had a great comback. The Monsterverse and the Minus One were both fun.
Minus One is a masterpiece but GxK not so much, while still very entertaining😎
@nickchang5293 agree. I like them both for separate reasons but it's obvious Minus One is the superior film
As good as this movie is, Godzilla Minus One is so much better.
I watched minus one I just don’t get the hype. It’s a great movie but the humans won’t much better than the American ones imo.
Saw it in 3D and it was a blast, surely going to buy and watch again immediately. I didn't like the plot with the little mute girl that brings all the movies down and felt very Avatar-y and was also unnecessary.
Touch your TV
Hey, Ken my daughter pick me up Alani energy drink Kentucky style thinking about you, Bro
This movie is great if you have a short attention span just a lot of action and fun.
Was so hard to get through this flick. The cheese is beyond thick. Total cringe
Love your reviews, but keep them spoiler free. Would have been a nice surprise to have seen Mothra.
It's a disaster of editing, I saw it in the cinema in IMAX 3D and as I get the 4K bluray home, it comes in 16.9 with black stripes, remember and without 3D edition, a very big disappointment, I'm not going to go into it. that market that sells me whatever the distributors want, if I saw it in the cinema in one way I want to see it at home in that same way, "no more deceptions".. no more cropped 4k... if it is an imax version. ..it's like if they sell me "avatar 2" with black stripes, I throw it at my head,,,, so another bluray returned and they give me my money back.
Godzilla x kong is just horrible! The way he moves they absolutely destroyed him !! I have the walmart 4k steel book edition man I'm so sad about this movie!! Godzilla minus one absolutely destroys this movie I'm just so disappointed with it brother. I'm an old fan i grew up with all thr movie including the bew ones but this one they look horrible. The movie itself is good but the way they look and move ? Just horrible.
Movies come and go @MidLevelMedia and there are no real blockbusters anymore as thanks to streaming services films have become commonplace and not special anymore.
Another problem is that studios try to shove their political #woke agenda doen our throats and people don’t care about it anymore.
This Godzilla X Kong is an atrocity. The CGI is terrible. It looks like a video game and doesn’t come close to the excellent Japanese movie Godzilla Minus Zero that left me flabbergasted in the theater.
Ken you really do have weird ideas and reactions sometimes. Just monsters and not talking... Movies do not stand the test of time ... And that laughter at the end of your remark. I don't think that is a laughing matter for us, movie collectors and movie goers, movie buffs.
The monsters with little to no talking thing could actually work if it was done from a genuine passion for the craft and in the right hands. It'd just be really difficult to pull off, with a ton of brainstorming up front. First thing I thought of was how some screenings of Mel Gibson's Apocalypto didn't have subtitles [despite the Mayan language] when it first came out. Granted, that's a cast of humans but still...
That said, a 10-15 minute short film would likely be the best way to go for a no-dialogue monster movie.
