Hi. During April, it should be easier because the fish are in pre spawn mode. They are hungry and will be biting more than usual. Pick a day like today when the sun is out and you should be able to catch some fish. I recommend 4pm-7pm for best biting time. When there strong wind or weather is cold below 50, it'll be tougher.

The bass are there. I have had as many as three decent fish in one day this time of year slow rolling spinnerbaits over the emerging weeds. Later on in the year its a super weedy lake. Then its early early morning with weedless frogs. I have yet to catch a nice pickerell there but I have seen them spawning.
I've seen other videos with bass right near that red house but too bad it was occupied when I got there. I think you're right about the weedless frog. I'll give it a try next time I go there.

I didn't realize until today that you were from New York. Beautiful lake areas that I wouldn't expect to see from the New York that's shown on TV and in the movies.
There's really no fishing in NYC (catch & release only). They have some fishing in Central Park but I've not tried it cause I hate driving into the city. Long Island is nice to fish but too high pressured. Thanks Dan.
Bro, definitely a tough day at the water but you got the skunk off. Sometimes the fishing pressure makes it hard especially when your preferred spot is taken. Next time, you will have to beat them out to your spot. Blessings, Rob
