If you look at the back of his head at 2:10 on the original deleted scene video, you will see that he has a very nasty looking deep scar on the back of his skull. Doesnt look like acid damage but looks more like severe blunt impact that may have caused a TBI. This could have been Batmans doing as we see how brutal and physically vicious he can get in the film. Almost as if the Batman made his condition worse and he feels responsible. only a theory tho Edit* Something i also realized from reading about lobe locations on the brain. The area that the scar is located is directly above the parietal lobe. The parietal lobes functions description is "The parietal lobes are responsible for processing somatosensory information from the body; this includes touch, pain, temperature, and the sense of limb position" Its a stretch but this injury could possibly make the Joker immune to pain

Even though this Batman is incredibly composed you can see at 1:31 (original scene) when Joker flashes a smile at him, his body language flutters and shows fear and disgust at the same time. You can slightly see his jaw and neck move up and down, almost as if he is gulping but trying to hide it. This Joker knows he gets under Batmans skin and uses his appearance to disturb him

I’ve said this for years and I will keep saying, I love Heaths Joker but over time because of the fans I can not see that movie again, I think people need to forget about his Joker, we are not going to get his Joker anymore, he is gone, if people can not let go and always have him in mind, they are never going to like the ones that come after him and I don’t believe the whole “well if it’s good I will” That being said, He should be in the Arkham series, perfect opportunity for him to plan and build Towards Batman 2, he should be the mastermind in the shadows until until the third movie.
Wouldn't have minded if both Joker scenes were left out. We're told that Batman has the best Rogues' Gallery, but keep going back to the same villains! Really like the actor Barry Keoghan, but let's put that assertion about Batman's villains to the test by putting different ones on the big screen!

I too heard a little Ledger joker in him but I think it’s dope that his joker reminds us of Heath since the majority says Dark Knight’s joker was the best and Heath was taken from us too soon, it’s cool to see something so close to him
I dont think he should be a main villain in the sequel, or even in the third movie, but i definitely want him to make cameo appearances as the hannibal role in scenes that are on the same quality as this. The cinematography, writing, acting, the visual storytelling. Everything was immaculate. And then we'll be geniuinely excited to see joker in the main role by the time it comes without rushing too it.

Years back I was in Ireland and I got hooked on this show called Love/Hate. If you get the chance to check it out (idk where you can find it here, if at all) but it’s kinda like The Wire or the Sopranos but set in Dublin. I bring it up cause in season 4 of that show, Barry Keoghan had one of his first major roles. I’ll never forget him showing up and thinking to myself “this kid is good. And he has a look to him” About ten years later he’s in Eternals and now he’s the Joker.

Reeves has confirmed this deleted scene is of pre-joker. So the character has not yet become the arch villain we know and has yet to develop into that. He said he likes the idea of the villains slowly becoming who they are as a response to Batman. Also, Reeves has confirmed this character's deformity is more a birth defect rather than due to a chemical accident etc. I like how at this point in their relationship, batman and joker have history, are cordial and somewhat respect each other's psyche... escalation awaits. Love it.

One option would be to do the Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth graphic novel as a frame for the sequel. The one written in 1989 by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Dave McKean

A lot of Heath comparisons, IMO, can be linked to the fact that it is practically a mirrored scene from The Dark Knight interrogation. Additionally, there were little nods in the dialog. Thoughts?
So far, we have two scenes of Reeves' version of Joker. One scene was the worst in The Batman. The other was cut. Not good signs for this vision of Joker. I didn't particularly like Joker in this cut scene. I didn't like the straight up Hannibal Lector vibe, too on the nose and just didn't feel like the Joker to me. It feels off, and visually I would not be excited to look at this guy's extremely messed up face for 2 hours. Ledger's rode the line of grotesque but struck the perfect balance. This is just so gruesome.
Ledger got away with being so creepy and grotesque because his charisma was off the charts. Reeves Joker doesn’t feel threatening, and the scene was honestly really boring. Not seeing how people would follow and work for this joker but we will find out i guess.

I instead of a,The Batman sequel, they should follow-up with a The Batman Year One prequel, which covers the Joker capture, then move on to a sequel afterwards. Kinda like how Temple of Doom was the second Indiana Jones film, but set before Raiders. Seems like a no-brainer to me to go this route.
What I’m curious about the Arkham series is will we get either Hugo Strange, or Harleen Quinzel (pre here Harley Quinn transformation). If so while I don’t have a fan casting for Hugo Strange; I would love to see either Jennifer Lawrence or Anya Taylor-Joy play Harleen
Barry gave such a good performance that it would be a shame not to include him in the movie, so I'm glad they at least gave us a glimpse of their take on the character with that scene.
If they can build up his character throughout the Arkham series, if he's in it, to the point where things spill over into a movie further down the road, if they do that, then they've built up anticipation for this Joker. Then all of the "I'm tired of Joker" peeps might be on board. Personally, I'm not tired of Joker, but I would like to see other villains. Mr Freeze, please.
Since this scene wasn't technically IN The Batman, I'd vote that they keep Joker in Arkham for the sequel but with a bit of a larger spotlight, still not unlike Hannibal from Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal was only in, what, like 15 minutes of that movie? Yet he was still one of the most memorable aspects of it if not THE most memorable aspect of it. Have Joker get 3-4 major scenes talking to Batman, sprinkling in hints regarding their history together, then have some third act event allow him to escape from Arkham. From there, have him take on the main antagonist role in the third movie. I think the idea of slowly building to the Joker throughout an entire trilogy is a fresh enough take on the character as opposed to just having him be featured in 1 movie of the series.

No. Not for a while anyway. Batman's rogues gallery is so deep, so many that haven't hit the big screen yet. I would love to see a Mad Hatter but more in the fashion of Grant Morrison's Arkham Asylum graphic. A serial killer with a Lewis Carrol obsession and a fixation on any woman who resembles Alice. I think that can work in the current Batman Context. Please, no more Joker for a while.
Matt probably put him in the film to get him out of the way so fans don’t bitch and have fan theories about where joker is. He’s right in Arkham. Slade Wilson would be the perfect antagonist. Plus Barry doesn’t have screen presence to carry a film as the main villain. They started with Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, and John T. Cant go backwards in casting, which is the reason this film is so great.
We need the joker at some point I just don’t know if it’s in the sequel . They need to do a villain that hasn’t been touched yet in previous movies first .

I never considered the possibility that Hulu could end up being absorbed into Disney+ now that they have R-rated content. As I understand it, Disney+ has already been doing that everywhere else, so it would make sense. As for Morbius, I've been hearing it's not that great, but I'm still interested in seeing it. Reviews never sway me one way or the other. If I want to see something, I go see it and I usually end up liking it. By the way, your experience at that restaurant reminded me of my dad when we'd go to them. He's someone who has to make a scene when service isn't up to his standards, so I can only imagine how he would've handled that douchey waiter lol. I'm surprised he hasn't been fired. That guy has no business working in the service industry. I totally get hating one's life and job, but that's not an excuse to treat customers like shit when it isn't warranted.

I’d rather have Reeves focus on the Joker in the third installment. Honestly, I could see this Batverse easily continue past a third movie, if Pattinson and Reeves are down for it. Maybe Pattinson’s Batman is the RDJ Iron Man of this Batverse, and we’ll see him develop/mature as Batman, and he can raise more than one Robin in this Batverse.

Disney share of Hulu rose to 67% after the FOX purchase. But 33% is still owned by Comcast after they purchased NBCUniversal. So Hulu can't just be folded in Disney Plus. Comcast has Peacock, so Comast and Disney would never agree who gets which Hulu originals. A possibility is that Comcast & Disney will produce more originals for Peacock & Disney Plus while the let the Hulu originals run their course before ending Hulu and splitting up the scraps.

Enjoyed the Joker scene. I’m glad they cut it because it revealed what we would already find out through the movie. However, i really don’t like his look. It’s too much for me, and if that’s his look i think it’d be distracting if he had a more prominent role.

Even though this Batman is incredibly composed you can see at 1:31 (original scene) when Joker flashes a smile at him, his body language flutters and shows fear and disgust at the same time. You can slightly see his jaw and neck move up and down, almost as if he is gulping but trying to hide it. This Joker knows he gets under Batmans skin and uses his appearance to disturb him

I’ve said this for years and I will keep saying, I love Heaths Joker but over time because of the fans I can not see that movie again, I think people need to forget about his Joker, we are not going to get his Joker anymore, he is gone, if people can not let go and always have him in mind, they are never going to like the ones that come after him and I don’t believe the whole “well if it’s good I will”
That being said, He should be in the Arkham series, perfect opportunity for him to plan and build Towards Batman 2, he should be the mastermind in the shadows until until the third movie.

I dont think he should be a main villain in the sequel, or even in the third movie, but i definitely want him to make cameo appearances as the hannibal role in scenes that are on the same quality as this. The cinematography, writing, acting, the visual storytelling. Everything was immaculate. And then we'll be geniuinely excited to see joker in the main role by the time it comes without rushing too it.

Years back I was in Ireland and I got hooked on this show called Love/Hate. If you get the chance to check it out (idk where you can find it here, if at all) but it’s kinda like The Wire or the Sopranos but set in Dublin. I bring it up cause in season 4 of that show, Barry Keoghan had one of his first major roles. I’ll never forget him showing up and thinking to myself “this kid is good. And he has a look to him” About ten years later he’s in Eternals and now he’s the Joker.

Reeves has confirmed this deleted scene is of pre-joker. So the character has not yet become the arch villain we know and has yet to develop into that. He said he likes the idea of the villains slowly becoming who they are as a response to Batman. Also, Reeves has confirmed this character's deformity is more a birth defect rather than due to a chemical accident etc. I like how at this point in their relationship, batman and joker have history, are cordial and somewhat respect each other's psyche... escalation awaits. Love it.

A lot of Heath comparisons, IMO, can be linked to the fact that it is practically a mirrored scene from The Dark Knight interrogation. Additionally, there were little nods in the dialog. Thoughts?
I feel there was for sure.
So far, we have two scenes of Reeves' version of Joker. One scene was the worst in The Batman. The other was cut. Not good signs for this vision of Joker. I didn't particularly like Joker in this cut scene. I didn't like the straight up Hannibal Lector vibe, too on the nose and just didn't feel like the Joker to me. It feels off, and visually I would not be excited to look at this guy's extremely messed up face for 2 hours. Ledger's rode the line of grotesque but struck the perfect balance. This is just so gruesome.
Ledger got away with being so creepy and grotesque because his charisma was off the charts. Reeves Joker doesn’t feel threatening, and the scene was honestly really boring. Not seeing how people would follow and work for this joker but we will find out i guess.

I instead of a,The Batman sequel, they should follow-up with a The Batman Year One prequel, which covers the Joker capture, then move on to a sequel afterwards. Kinda like how Temple of Doom was the second Indiana Jones film, but set before Raiders. Seems like a no-brainer to me to go this route.

Since this scene wasn't technically IN The Batman, I'd vote that they keep Joker in Arkham for the sequel but with a bit of a larger spotlight, still not unlike Hannibal from Silence of the Lambs. Hannibal was only in, what, like 15 minutes of that movie? Yet he was still one of the most memorable aspects of it if not THE most memorable aspect of it. Have Joker get 3-4 major scenes talking to Batman, sprinkling in hints regarding their history together, then have some third act event allow him to escape from Arkham. From there, have him take on the main antagonist role in the third movie. I think the idea of slowly building to the Joker throughout an entire trilogy is a fresh enough take on the character as opposed to just having him be featured in 1 movie of the series.

No. Not for a while anyway. Batman's rogues gallery is so deep, so many that haven't hit the big screen yet. I would love to see a Mad Hatter but more in the fashion of Grant Morrison's Arkham Asylum graphic. A serial killer with a Lewis Carrol obsession and a fixation on any woman who resembles Alice. I think that can work in the current Batman Context. Please, no more Joker for a while.

Matt probably put him in the film to get him out of the way so fans don’t bitch and have fan theories about where joker is. He’s right in Arkham. Slade Wilson would be the perfect antagonist. Plus Barry doesn’t have screen presence to carry a film as the main villain. They started with Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, and John T. Cant go backwards in casting, which is the reason this film is so great.

I never considered the possibility that Hulu could end up being absorbed into Disney+ now that they have R-rated content. As I understand it, Disney+ has already been doing that everywhere else, so it would make sense. As for Morbius, I've been hearing it's not that great, but I'm still interested in seeing it. Reviews never sway me one way or the other. If I want to see something, I go see it and I usually end up liking it. By the way, your experience at that restaurant reminded me of my dad when we'd go to them. He's someone who has to make a scene when service isn't up to his standards, so I can only imagine how he would've handled that douchey waiter lol. I'm surprised he hasn't been fired. That guy has no business working in the service industry. I totally get hating one's life and job, but that's not an excuse to treat customers like shit when it isn't warranted.

Disney share of Hulu rose to 67% after the FOX purchase. But 33% is still owned by Comcast after they purchased NBCUniversal. So Hulu can't just be folded in Disney Plus. Comcast has Peacock, so Comast and Disney would never agree who gets which Hulu originals. A possibility is that Comcast & Disney will produce more originals for Peacock & Disney Plus while the let the Hulu originals run their course before ending Hulu and splitting up the scraps.
