John Williams score brings emotional connectivity to this masterpiece. Ellie powering up the parking score is brilliant. The lost world score is tragically underrated. Spielberg's favourite score. . How many times can I say 'score' lol
I loved how the conversation went off topic at points. the stuff about star wars and terminator etc. there's a million breakdowns of Jurassic Park but you three just hanging out is what makes this stuff good.
I can't say it's my favorite movie of all time, because I don't have one. But it is undoubtedly one of them, and it has a special place in my heart. I was 6 years old when I saw it in the theater, with the Brachiosaurus scene alone it awakened my love for the magic of cinema, which continues to this day... And I was just watching The Lost World right now. I know Kristian hates it, but besides some silliness like the gymnastics scenes... Give it a chance. For me is the last good one of the franchise.
Going to see Jurassic Park at the movie theatre is one my earliest movie theatre experience memories. I was about 6 years old and it instantly became my favourite movie and held that spot for many years. Still love this movie to this day and it is still the best film of this series by a million miles.
You guys nailed it there's not much i can add to this classic movie other than a funny story. I remember seeing this as a kid and i didn't know movies can make stupid mistakes I thought if I didn't understand something in a movie I must be to young to understand what happened. So that T-rex cliff scene confused the hell out of me as a kids, i had no idea WTF was happening and i refused to believe it was a stupid mistake made by the movie.
Loved it, guys, no surprises there, but i have to say, the perfect frosting on this TH-cam cake was Kristian's ad libbed singing during the music. Don't ever change, Harloff. Going through the darkest time in my life and that still somehow made me guffaw.
Also, thank you Kristian for bringing up how great and scary the book is. Still a good movie, yes, but the book still wigs me out. Which, as much hate as JP3 gets, i feel like actually came closest to the films of capturing the book's scares.
I read the book as a child and vaguely remember a scene where it describes nedrys last moments and how after being attacked he blindly fumbles around with his own disemboweled guts and being surprised how warm it felt, probably a smart omission for the movie.
One of the things that I enjoyed about this film was it introduced me to species dinosaurs that I didn't know about, like the Velociraptor. Also, the theory that dinosaurs are pre-historic birds!
in the forward in the book, there is a Doctor Carter from a ER in Chicago, a gal, but the name carries into the show ER as the first new doctor we follow in the hospital. I loved that.
The rewatches are my favourite thing you guys are doing right now. It also gets me more hyped for the movie that we are rewatching for. Should def do one offs of random movies from Rambo, Eraser, Mummy, etc or some movies that aren't so loved. Why? I wish I knew.
Thank you Kristian, Winston, and Coy. That's an interesting observation about the similarities between the main theme and You Can Fly. In addition, have you ever noticed that the end of The Imperial March is basically a riff on the end of 'A Spoonful Of Sugar' from Mary Poppins? John Williams, you have some 'splainin' to do....
Hammond does give a legit reason for wanting to create the park during the ice cream scene with Laura Dern. When he talks about the flea circus and wanting to give people something real
This is a great discussion. I just rewatched JP with my brother, and y'all are very right about the Sam Neill/Dern characters. I'll never forget the intro of him scaring the living shit out of a child with the raptor claw, and then protecting children when the park goes to hell. Dern isn't the damsel in distress either, she's strong even after fucking up her leg. I feel like if Spielberg just made creature features or horror films, he'd be the GOAT at the genre.
Jurassic Park is my favourite movie of all time. I could watch it on repeat and never get bored. The rest of the franchise is nowhere near as good as the first, but I still enjoy them. I'm gonna predict that you will all be surprised by how much you enjoy Fallen Kingdom, it's grown on me a lot over time.
Jurassic franchise was way back in the 90s and the franchise is still going strong 💪🏻 and everyone is waiting for a fourth sequel of Jurassic and there will be returning characters and new characters in these movies 🍿🎥
You son of a…I’m having a hard time falling asleep rn and this video comes on my feed. Guess it’s gonna be a late night. I consider JP one of the all time greats in cinema and one of my top 10 favorite films. Not my favorite but on any given day it can shoot up the list easily. The movie is basically perfect, from the direction to the cinematography, to the AMAZING scores and special effects. It’s truly incredible how well this film holds up nearly 30 years later. It’s honestly borderline weird that it’s held up so well. Idk how anyone can hate this movie (aside from die hard paleontologists)
You can really tell when coy is into a series. He was so energetic here and throughout the Spider-Man rewatch, even the bad ones, but when with batman, he was so out of it and barely said anything. Also, what's he talking about? YT comments can be hostile for sure but i find here to be far less hostile than any other social media platform.
Kristian,. I do remember reading an article back in the 90s that Spielberg always doubted himself on his sequels and put too much pressure on himself, also on that article it says that he directed some parts Of JP2 remotely from New York due to a family commitment. Hopefully it is enjoyable to you on the rewatch, it has its WTF moments but still a movie from my childhood so I look at it with some love even with all its faults. And we get to see Toby Ziegler from the West Wing get eaten by two T-Rex. ✌🏽

Jurassic Park (1993) is a great movie, but I do think people forget that the concept itself is very B-movie science fiction and falls within the monster movie genre. Now Alien (1979), Aliens (1986), and Predator (1987) I feel fall into that category as well. Fantastic movies, but I feel once you keep making sequels to these types of stories, there is the tendency for the narrative to wear thin 3-4 movies in. I really felt by J.W. 2, that this series was running out of creative energy. So while J.W. 3 looks fun and clearly hitting the nostalgia button, I'm worried there's really not much story to tell here. But I've seen every Jurassic sequel in the theater since "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" in 97', unless the reviews are extremely harsh, Universal has my money lol
Man y’all hating on the other films. Yeah they’re def not anywhere as amazing as the first but they all work for what they are accomplishing. I too wish they would’ve stayed as deep and didn’t go full monster movie. But they’re still fun movies. I personally love Fallen Kingdom cuz it’s so weird and goofy. But the 2nd act and gothic haunted house tone is hat really makes me like it. It’s not perfect but it’s a good time with dinos

@@TheKristianHarloff Thank you for understanding, I was going to watch it but i got busy, i will be checking it out later today, yeah i meant the last 2, i didnt like the streaming matches due to the pandemic, dont like the format but i guess it was a neccessary thing to do due to the circumstances, the thing that i dont like about new schmoedown is that i think is a more a show now like it was before, i mean in 2016/17 it was more balanced i believe, like the contestants were straight to the point of the game but with some elements of like for example wwe, some of the contestants used costumes and they had fun entrances, but at the end of the day they were concentrated in the game, today it feels very simple also i think now some contestants are goofing around too much and dont concentrate in the game, you know what i mean? like the level of commitment has reduced, or maybe is my imagination, but like obi wan said, from my certain point of view is what i feel. thanks anyways for listen.
@@PolitoKBJuegos Thanks, yeah they are as dedicated as ever but we all just want to put on an entertaining show.
