Thanks for the support B. Not many anglers will give up the top spots, especially for crappie, the're hard to find.

@@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 so dang true, ive been been on the search for them in the delta for about 2yrs+ now and only manage to catch 1 or 2 each yr on accident while gilly fishing. My goal since my first taste of crappie was to track them year round in the delta and still no luck lol. I have couple spots that im pretty sure where they might be at while researching but my small portable gas tank will not make it there and back to the launch lol. Bank fishing for them at our resevoir seems easier but the hike will drain all my energy to even fish lol. Oh i have got couple questions. By any chance you have any recomendation of any boat works shops that work on rivet leaks on aluminum boats? Also shops that service propane powered out board motor? Price range for maintenance/tune ups?

The spot they mention in the end ive caught some nice crappie and bluegills on jig head and tubes. Same green, chartreuse black flake tubes. All along the canal up to middle river is pretty good fishing.

As an avid crappie angler I loved this vid! But I haven’t been able to locate them on the delta except on TH-cam. So I watched this content with great interest and appreciate the focus on my favorite panfish…for both catching and table fare. Would it be fair to say crappie schools are more prevalent in and around the San Joaquin River compared to the Sacramento River? I think so. This vid was very helpful, especially for those who fish from the bank…where many of us earned our angling merit badges and honed our catching skills. That said, please invite other delta crappie anglers to share their experiences, including those who now do all of their fishing from a boat.

Got it OG. Most the crappie I find are in the backs of sloughs or around docks with lighs in the summer. I will try and do more on crappie in the future.

    Thanks for the tips guys.
Still looking to find a spot with a hot crappie bite.
I caught a salmon while I was fishing for bass on a white pearl fluke once. That’s awesome he got a salmon on a crappie jig.
You truly never know what you are going to catch on the delta.
    Happy fishing 😎

Thanks GirlFin. Try Salt Springs Valley for crappie. Big slabs and a great place for a kayak.

Hit salmon on the delta once on jerk and a crappie jig. It's very common for salmon to hit in the delta. Landed both. Landed the salmon on a 4lb line and took over an hour.

My buddy and I would catch salmon all the time on crappie jigs whilst fishing for sac-a-lait in Orwood Resort...its a forever fight with no net though on 4lb test. 😂

My experience in Clear Lake with my guide. They MOVE ALL THE TIME. We first located the school on his $8,000 graph then he tried to stay in the school. Like I said they MOVE.
He was constantly on the move “hunting” after the bite had stopped.
Finding a “spot” is fine but not a real sure thing.
    Thanks Steve

There’s absolutely no reason to not share locations. I’ll tell anybody who asks where I fish and I hope they do well.

I share spots on the Delta but I also keep a few to myself. Burning other anglers areas is never a good idea. I think Randy gave up a good location but when your limited to bank angling you have to be a little careful.
