Getting into podcastibg! Thanks so much! I was set on this or Rhode. You sold me!
This is a great long-term mic for sure!
You can actually turn the LED off, but it's a stupid way to do it. In LED setting, change colour to black. It's dumb to do it this way, but it works perfectly.
Several have used that solution as well, at least that works!
Can’t wait for mine to come in
Nice!
Great video! My favourite travel mic is the Rode NT-USB Mini. I record all my podcasts with Riverside.
That's a great mic too, and nice to hear!
The MV7 is the perfect USB standalone mic, the desktop app which allows you to tweak and perfect your own sound (dark mode, etc) is fantastic. I did have some trouble with plosives on the MV7 when you are close to the mic, but otherwise probably the best $200 ish dollar option.
Since then, I have stepped up to dual SM7B’s with a Rodecaster Pro 2 (thanks for that vid guys), it’s never ending.
Nice setup! And glad the videos are helpful!
Just got a hold of the MV7+ here in the Middle East, as my friend and I recently started our podcast.
Congrats! Excellent mic for sure.
@@Riversidefm it's a brand I've known for a while. Just the versatility of XLR and USB-C made it a given to get it
I just upgraded to this from an MV7... finally USB-C yayyy!!! (I think I only have 1 micro-usb device in my possession now..)
I set the custom colours for outer-edge, edge and centre as black, using the value 0000 in the customiser - so now it really is off... unless it's muted ;)
Oh great tip!! Thanks for sharing.
Does the post processing affect the settings in all apps or just the software for the mic? So if I apply the popper stopper will that apply to OBS as well?
It will apply to all apps using the Shure MV7+
Loved this video. Does anyone know if we can connect the MV7+ to an iPhone? I read somewhere something about unlocking it the Motiv Mix app… I cannot find it
You can connect it directly to an iPhone 15 or newer, yes!
Great video! I am hesitating between this MV7+ AND SM7DB + interface shure MVX2U (to make it USB). Which one would you recommend? Also does the MV7+ requires a boost or interface to improve sound or can be use with laptop/iphone? Thank you!
Considering how good it sounds and the easy / flexibility of use, I would recommend the MV7+. I already have an SM7B + Rodecaster Pro II, and for most people can still recommend the MV7+
@@Riversidefm Thank you! This is very helpful.
AHHH USBC FINALLY
YES! Finally!
If I'm using this with IEM's connected to the mic to hear my voice while I talk, how can I adjust the balance of my voice vs. computer audio on Windows? Or can that only be done with a device like an Audient Evo 4?
You can use the Rode MixCast app that we have linked in the video description!
What’s about SM7dB with mvx2u plugged into a computer vs the MV7 plus? Assuming cost is not an issue. Is the latter complete overkill?
It you want the look and sound of the SM7bB, that setup would be great. IF you're just starting out, the MV7 also sounds great and is more flexible being USB and XLR. Great for travel too.
@@Riversidefm Okay - I just the SM7dB and the mvx2u. Sounds amazing- it's got a noticeable noise ceiling popping into all the audio clips. Using Audicity- I was able to completely remove the noise (search 'remove noise using audacity' on youtube). For the convenience, I think it's worth it even with needing to remove the noise manually. The sound is so golden.
@@Riversidefm Exactly what I am looking for. How does the MV7+ perform with singing (for recording songs) ?
2:47 HELP
So if I’m producing on Logic Pro x I can plug my headphones into the mic and listen to the mic and the computer at the same time in real time?
Yes, just choose the MV7+ as the audio input AND output in Logic Pro X preferences.
Can you tell me basically your choice between MV7 plus and podmic usb ? Thank youu in advance 😊
I would go MV7+ but many people like the Podmic too! That's just my preference.
@@Riversidefm Okay thank youu ☺️🙏🏻🙏🏻
How is comparison of sound on usb between mv7 vs mv7+
I got the mv7+ on iPhone 15
It's very close. MV7+ might be slightly improved, and you get more processing options in software or via the app, but it's probably not super noticeable by most people.
Can it be used with riverside on iphones with the lightning port and an adapter?
Unfortunately the Lightning to USB adapter has gotten unreliable since iOS 17, so we would only recommend using with USB-C iPhone models.
I subscribed
Welcome aboard!
I just got the mic but I’m having trouble connecting it on the app on my iPhone for video podcasting any suggestions?
Do you have an iPhone 15 or 15 Pro? Make sure you're in the studio on your phone and then connect the mic. When you see the pop up for headphones, tap "no"
Wish they would have made the "Shure" Logo Black like they did with the new SM7dB
Oh that would've been nice!
@@Riversidefm also it looks like the logo is dark grey on the box but it’s white on the mic…this a mistake?
Want to know if I can use two mv7+ with one windows PC and record
Riverside will only be able to recognize a single mic via USB, and most audio recording apps (like Audacity) will only let you choose one USB input, unfortunately.
I’m a little gutted, I bought my MV7 about to months ago, I wasn’t going to buy until summer but took a plunge. I love it don’t get me wrong but I really wish I waited.
You might be able to sell secondhand, they hold their value!
ngl this kinda reminds of the beacn mic, be very intersting if you can do a comparison
I'll have to look that up!
My app does not have Compressor or Limiter - was it removed?
Which app are you using?
@@Riversidefm The latest but I had to disable auto gain to reveal those features)
How short is the USB cable??
It's about 3 feet
Please help !! We recorded and my audio MV 7 is super low
Are you on desktop or mobile? You may need to raise the gain via the Mix app or directly on the mic. If you recorded with Riverside, try normalizing the audio on export and it should raise the volume!
The guest sounds great but mine is super low, what may I do on riverside to raise the volume
@@Riversidefm Thank you for always responding promptly. Yes. we did record on Riverside ( which we love!!) Thanks again I am going in again.
Does it work with Android ?
It will work with some Android devices, but compatibility may vary.
No difference if you have interface already, also just get sm57
If you already have an interface there are many great options for sure.
They sound the same 😂😂😂! We will buy rode podmic usb
They're very similar! But the plosives are slightly improved on the MV7+ and the USB-C connector is a welcome change.
@@Riversidefm of course 🙌🏿! Thank you so much! A comparison with rode podmic usb can help us so much 🙌🏿!!!
Yeh the Rode is leagues ahead. Shure has really fallen behind.
It doesn’t work on iPhone 15 usb. I tried rode. It has no audio control
this mic need an extra anti pop filter ?
Depends on how close you talk, but for most people the windscreen that comes with it should suffice!
