2 themes seem to run heavy in these comments; the first, 'how is she pregnant?', is easily answered; the second, 'Iowa Child Services needs to step in to protect the newborn', is a lot deeper concern. She's pregnant b/c they were only arrested EIGHT months ago & that is exactly one-third of her 2y [24 mo] sentence, hence up for parole at the URGING of her DOC Social Worker.
Why would anyone believe that Iowa Child Services would be any more professional than any of the other Agencies we've seen in that state? Judicial Sentences are 'weak,' to say the best, DOC recommending these vile inmates for release into the 'wild' show how incompetent that system is & this Parole Board has demonstrated a history of siding w/ thugs w/ ZERO concern about the Victims-consider how many Victims have poured their Heart out & this Board ignores the Crime, talks about how great the Offender works on their Mental Health & then shoves them onto the street. Iowa ranks 12th in confiscating Children from their Parents at a rate 80% higher than National. Before advocating the State get involved, it would be a good idea to do a little research into the deficiencies & failings of the IA Foster Care system; especially how many children have died in Foster Homes/Facilities. As hard as it is to say, Iowa's Children Services has a WORSE track record than this woman & in this case what lays ahead in Nevada may be the best answer.

That can be said for all state child systems. There is always that chance a child will be placed with someone just as or even more deplorable as the parent. That is in any state. I see where you are coming from, though. That's what makes this case even more heartbreaking because it seems like the child is damned either way.

Totally agree in the Netherlands they have been trying to get a law true that prevents that from happening. By forming those women to be steralised unfortunately that was not possible to get true. But its a shame that women like that ceep having children and than be taken away again. When a mother gets a child(ren) taken away for abuse/neglect either by her or a SO, more often or not, they go on to have other babies that suffer same fate and they continue to pop out more "replacements". This happens more as a rule not exception. Rarely does the "mother" actually change and make better choices or improves in any way---she might get new baby daddy but the same cycle repeats. Yes it is a sick dynamic but it is fairly predictable.

Her continued defense of this guy unwillingness to admit or see the truth while still continuing to be with this fiancee says so much about her character or lack there of and utter

Woman look in the mirror: you did it, you could not be bothered to take care of your son, you did not hear a sound when he was injured, you did not investigate what happened and you are still clueless after trial and spending months in prison. The truth probably is that she had so much intake that she passed out. The child cried and cried for hours and the guy just lost his marbles and had no plan what to do with this child other than to hurt him. Everything about her is just self-centered and dishonest. She got away with much less than she deserved, probably because of lack of evidence.

It is virtually a traumatic brain injury, a coup contra coup type injury in SB.Baby's bones are not nearly as fragile as we think they are, they are soft and somewhat cartilage. It takes FORCE to break a 4 week olds bones. I'm a nurse. This was intentionally caused harm in several places

To say she 'left her child in the care of' suggests she was not in the vicinity of where she left her son. She was in the same home in another room! @OldNurseBossyMeemaw absolutely heart breaking. I will never understand. The moment I found out I was pregnant, my world stopped and completely changed focus. I no longer mattered. My children were all that mattered. Now I'm a grandma and my daughter and I have the best relationship. She and I speak every day sometimes multiple times. I taught both my children that no matter what it was, they could tell me. No matter how big or small their situation was, I would listen and help. Now my daughter over shares at times but, I wouldn't change a thing. My children both knew their mom was present and available for them always. My relationship with my 12 year old boy, is beautiful. He saw how I parented his sister and always knows.. I'm here and available. We talk about everything. When you choose to become a parent, you are making a vow to protect and provide. Over time, it just seems to get worse with people choosing to have a child when they have no intention to be a parent.

Yes a girl I went to school with did the same thing. She had 3 boys and lost custody of all 3 of them. Ended up pregnant shortly after that baby was taken. She waited a year and started having more kids that she was some how able to keep custody of. She ended up having exactly 4 more kids. The same amount that were taken from her. She didn’t even fight to get those kids back just kept having kids until she replaced them all. The most messed up part is that she named the replacement kids names very similar to the kids that were taken away names. She really replaced those kids and I don’t see how she was able to keep the new babies it’s disgusting!!!

The evil monster MUST have heard the baby screaming in agony - no matter where in the house she was. She did absolutely nothing. Then, she chooses the other evil monster to have another baby from!! How could she? How could she even have contemplated shacking up with man who viciously and brutally attacked her 4 week old baby??? I'm shocked, stunned, angry, and in total disbelief at this evil mother.

Easy to miss but she WAS, in essence, paroled by this board - they sent her to “RDF” for four months prior to release. That’s a residential detention facility (halfway house). With good time that’s 60 days and she’s out, on parole. Then, remember in the beginning they were talking about the interstate compact? Her parole would have to be transferred from Iowa to Nevada - that requires Nevada to agree. They won’t. She’s completely unsupervised. I pray the dirtbag dad’s family has the same moral compass as her mother does and reports her.
