May I say what a beautifully crafted and narrated tutorial, I truly feel I learned so much and can't wait to put your techniques into practice. Looking forward as always to your next video!
I always just plop down those track lights, I wanted to make sure people could see stuff. But oh my god you have rocked my camp building world I have been doing this wrong the whole time, can't wait to get home and mess around with what you showed us. Thank you.
This is the first time I've watched a tutorial & immediately knew I'd watch it again. Not just for the great information, but because it's just so beautiful! Thanks so much!
Thanks for taking the time to craft this informative video. When I first started Fallout 76 my camp was a utilitarian box. I wasn't interested in building at all. The longer I play the more I build. Now my camp is a glorified utilitarian box, underground. I decided to let the sky be my main source of lighting. It's cool to see how it changes with the weather, figuratively and literally. If/when I get more involved, I'll revisit your video for ideas. I love watching videos that teach me how to build outside the parameters of the game. Everything is cooler in the Upside-down.
As long as you’re doing what makes you happy that all that matters. I’ve seen some very interesting underground camps. I have yet to try it. Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I love how this tutorial is not only a, well tutorial, but it goes into the science of lighting. And your voice is also at that right level and speed that I can keep up and understand everything.
That’s awesome! I struggle with the timing of things but I try to just talk like how I’d like someone else to teach me. I appreciate you watching. Thanks so much 🥰
OMG i just found out about this! Ive been very busy lately and this is really well thoughtout video! Love the clips editing style! and i have to agree that white lights are too bright to do any colour accurate work on camp build and video editing! I always use warmer tone and contrast lights to pin point colour variations on my build! This is a great vid well done Nuka! :D

I know your tutorials have been out a while. However, I just stumbled across them. They have been a life savor for my current C.A.M.P project. Thank you so much!
WoW! such a well constructed, articulated and informative tutorial on C.A.M.P. lighting! Thank You :) your voice is mesmerizingly soothing, a welcome addition to fine examples/ editing done for the video. if i may add, the new wall mounted flaming skull can be merged behind the new suit of armors' head (against a wall, of course), not a great source of light, but looks pretty cool.
What a great tutorial. I just finished my new CAMP and usually put some warm tone lights in there, but this tutorial opens my eyes. Back to CAMP building again and get rid of the ones I use now. Thanks for making this great tutorial and I hope more will follow!
Wonderful information and explanation of concepts! I often end up letting my lighting slide because I end up too excited about the rest of the camp - and lights end up being the last thing I think about. This vid has shifted my priorities =)
@@NukaViolet it’s wonderful. I used to have a spot near the lake next to an oil spot. But the way I had my lights were nice. I work with your sister and she told me to check out your channel. I don't play fallout 76 but I watched the entire thing. This is awesome. I didn't know you could do so much with the lighting in a game. Super cool.
Great guide! I’ve actually already taken to hiding lights above the rooms in a multi-shelter Haunted Maze I’ve been building for the last year. But you’re truly an inspiration who has given me even more ideas! Thank you for that!
Commenting to hopefully bump this video up :D This video is of the highest quality . From the camera pan speeds , to the subtle background music . Amazing video !!
greatly appreciated! while watching this and the meshing video i started to create my first in depth base/home and started by making a floating skull trampoline
Incredibly valuable, as all your content always is! Thanks for everything you do for this community. Maybe next video could be a way to "clutter" builds? Making a space feel "lived in"? I figure it involves a lot of cabinets and merging, but I like how you talked about the "why" of your lighting designs in this video, and I feel like getting into your head and how you approach making your camps have the "lived in" feel, would be a great video too.
Wow! Camps have come a log way since I played in year 1! Maybe it's time to revisit FO76. Building was my favorite part of FO4, but felt too restrictive in the CAMP model. Your work is fantastic! Big like and slapping the big red rectangle for more!
This is probably one of my favorite tutorials and even has building techniques strewn throughout. Amazing job describing why things work the way they do.
This video was so helpful thanks for helping me open my artistic eye on 76, I went back to my camps and assessed the lighting and almost all of my rooms were white washed out of existence..lol, But your vid has now given me the knowledge to properly fix all of that, Thank You and great work! 👍
Thank you so much for sharing your talent. It is so kind of you to give what I’m sure was a lot of time and effort to creating this. Most people will look at lighting and think “that doesn’t look right“ but not know why. This is incredibly helpful at explaining it and teaching us all how to do better. ❤️

I've been teaching myself basic editing so I can post builds on my channel. Im not great yet but I'm getting there. There are so many great builders in the community I've leaned from. I never thought of lighting like this though. This will help me immensely as I get better with my builds. You are truly talented. Thank you for this video.
That's great to hear Tylrmde! I'm plan on making a tutorial to teach some basic editing for recording camps. Hopefully that will help people who are trying to make videos but aren't sure how. Thank you for watching! :)
Simply beautiful. I am a camp builder as well and know many tricks and all of my camps are colorful, HOWEVER, I have learned a lot, you have an amazing eye and I appreciate you showing this. I have merged and destroyed all kinds of items including foundation merges to incorporate unique lighting but weirdly enough, I have never tried hidden lights in the wall and can’t wait to try. I have enjoyed your builds for a long time, keep up the amazing work.
Thank you so much Razor! It's people like you that I making this content for. It makes me so happy to hear you're getting ideas for your camp from my video. I think you'll enjoy my next tutorial as well. It's all about merging. 😄

Your video was the highlight of my evening. I love to build immersively, considering what my character needs for survival or to do business or to help others (depending on the character's back story). Lately, I've been struggling for inspiration because everything just feels "blah". Now I realize that I've been focusing too much on the practical, and not enough on the artistic. It's going to take some rethinking, but my current project is going to get a "reset" from this, and I'll bet the next iteration is much more interesting. Aside from the artistic inspiration and guidance, I want to compliment you on the production values of the video. It's cogently organized and sequenced, perfectly paced, skillfully edited, and your voiceover is wonderfully pleasant to hear. Subscribing -- I'll be checking out your other tutorials. Hello, I just wanted to say that I'm watching your video right now and I have actually smiled at the sight of some of these beautiful builds and ideas. Also, thanks for the lighting tips!!
This is an amazingly thorough guide, and so many great examples! I love playing with lighting but am definitely still learning, I'm excited to start levelling up using these tips. I particularly want to do more foundation merging, it looks so cool!
I stumbled across your channel trying to find tips and tricks on lighting. You are heaven sent. Exactly what I was looking for when it comes to lighting. Being color deficient, making certain colors pop is a little challenging for me. But you explained it perfect. Not to mention, your soothing voice is so pleasant. It drew me in even more. ❤
only just discovered your channel but the content is brilliant. pleasant & soothing voice, clear and concise instructions & very very polished. this has helped a lot with my camps
Already watched it a couple times, and keep coming back. Such an awesome tutorial, so inspiring! Makes me wanna redo all my lighting right away. Can't wait for the next one! oh, and your voice... so soothing.
That's awesome! It makes me so happy to hear you are getting some ideas for your camp. 😃 And I'm glad my voice is tolerable, I really don't like hearing it. Lol
@@NukaViolet Haha, 'tolerable' is a huge understatement, but ok :) And yes, lots of new ideas for me! Already did some merging, back lit walls and such. But having a new perspective on lighting and its purpose is most meaningful for me, as a designer myself with 4 camps I am so very grateful :)
@@NukaViolet And I'd love to show it to you! But it's a work in progress and obviously nowhere near your designs, haha! (I did steal your idea with backlit ghoul heads for my freakish vault-prison, I am amazed how good they look!)
Amazing stuff, thanks so much for this! I definitely learned some new stuff and have a new perspective on lighting now! One tip: power the pressure plate, it's much less frustrating and you can see what you're doing so much better! It just has to be hooked up to either a powered conduit or a wired object; it won't work if it's hooked directly up to the generator. If the light on the pressure plate turns red, you probably accidentally walked on it, so just store it and place it again and it will be fine!
Awesome! I’m glad you got some ideas for your camp. Yes, you can do a few things with the pressure plate. Sometimes I’ll stack another one on top and that will also activate it. Thanks for watching!
Amazing in depth video, honestly you've done such a good job breaking all this down so well, I'm completely new to pro camp building and I feel so much more confident
This Vid is awsome. You opend my Eyes for so many things. Its an gamechanger for me. But...... Now i have to scrap my whole Camp and rebuild it :-D Big Thanks !!!!!

Thank you so much V! The first time I saw your builds I was instantly drawn to your lighting. I HAD to include you! Thanks for contributing. ;)
@@NukaViolet the greatest compliment, honestly 🥰
So cool!!! You have not inspired me to take my camp to the next level. Sharing your channel with EVERYONE i know, thank you so much for sharing! Can’t wait to see more tutorials and camps!
Awe, thank you so much! That definitely helps my channel. I appreciate it Whitney 🥰💕
Hello, I just wanted to say that I'm watching your video right now and I have actually smiled at the sight of some of these beautiful builds and ideas. Also, thanks for the lighting tips!!
Thank you Baxter! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank for watching. 😄
Your channel has been a goldmine in helping me up my build game, thank you so much for the work you've put into these videos.
That’s so great to hear! I appreciate you watching. Thanks so much 🥰💖
This is an amazingly thorough guide, and so many great examples! I love playing with lighting but am definitely still learning, I'm excited to start levelling up using these tips. I particularly want to do more foundation merging, it looks so cool!
Thank you! Oh yeah, the foundation merge is a game changer! I learned that trick from LoganRTX. It's such a cool technique. 👍🏼
Honestly I suck at base building and lighting and this helps a lot. Thank you ❤️
Any time Andrew! Thanks so much 😃
I stumbled across your channel trying to find tips and tricks on lighting. You are heaven sent. Exactly what I was looking for when it comes to lighting. Being color deficient, making certain colors pop is a little challenging for me. But you explained it perfect. Not to mention, your soothing voice is so pleasant. It drew me in even more. ❤
I’m so glad my tutorial was able to help you out! Thank you so much Kalani! 🥰👍🏼
Absolutely beautiful tutorial. Over here building square boxes with subway lights and am absolutely humbled at what is actually possible.
that's true love of building. The detail is crazy good. Took down so many notes lol. Keep up the awesome content
Thank you so much ReZ! I’m so happy it was helpful to you. 😀

The fallout community is so great, I'm happy to be able to contribute. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you 💞
Wow! Excellent video and very informative, love the merged lights.
Thank you Tze! 😁
Your very talented in making camps far more than I am. And the music and your voice made this so relaxing
Thank you so much Marc! :)
@@NukaViolet your very welcome
Merge and lighting in one vid! Thx NukaViolet!

I appreciate that Brett! I’m so glad it’s helpful to you 😊👍🏼
amazing! never knew just how much effect the lighting had an, all the cool tricks you could do with them while building.
Thanks! Yes, lighting is definitely a game changer with camp building. 👌🏼
@@pstro66 that is so great to hear! I'd love to see what you've done with your lighting.
@@NukaViolet And I'd love to show it to you! But it's a work in progress and obviously nowhere near your designs, haha! (I did steal your idea with backlit ghoul heads for my freakish vault-prison, I am amazed how good they look!)
Nice! 👍🏼😂
That’s awesome! I love to see builders benefit from my videos. I appreciate the kind words! ☺️💕
This video was simply BRILLIANT! Thank you for taking the time and effort. Also thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks! I appreciate it! 💖
This is an awesome tutorial, especially the "light effects" section
Thank you so much! 😁👍🏼 That's my favorite part as well.
Very well done. Informative presentation, and impressive builds.
I'm glad you found it helpful Kierwen! Thank you ☺💖
@@NukaViolet you are very welcome. Thank you.
Wow great video. I had never given lighting any serious though beyond the purely practical implementation.
Thank you! Yeah, so many options for creativity with them. That’s why I felt compelled to make it. 😊 Thanks for watching!
This Vid is awsome. You opend my Eyes for so many things.
Its an gamechanger for me.

Now i have to scrap my whole Camp and rebuild it :-D

Didn't know about the colour wheel very helpful, will defo make use of that & alot of other techniques 👍
Thank you! I'm glad I could teach you something. That's my end goal. I appreciate it Jay! 😃
@@NukaViolet Goal achieved!
Btw I'm a warm lightning type of guy🤣 But as you say, they all have their own purpose to set the ambience.
@@high_grade_jay haha! It's good to have a style! 😁👍🏼

I saw this video when it first came out but forgot to comment on it. You did a really great job and it’s a useful tutorial/showcase:)
Thanks a lot Ruby! 💞
Very cool! I'm building a game in the Unreal engine, and you have given me lots of good ideas on how to use lighting to get the mood I want. This is a very well done video too.
That’s awesome! I appreciate you watching 🥰

This is awesome. My camp is trash next to yours. You really are an artist.
Awe I’m sure it’s that bad! It’s all about how much time you want to spend on it. Thank you for watching! 😊
Great video! I was actually looking for a lighting guide recently so this is great! Your voice is very soothing as well 😴
Haha! I'm glad I could help! Thanks 😁🧘🏻♀️
thank you, Nuka. So many great pieces of advice.

Thank you for watching! I'm in the middle of making the next tutorial. 👍🏼😄
Wow your videos are well made and full of great information. I’ve been getting into camp building and even though I get likes on my camp I am nowhere near this. You gave me some great ideas to try. Thanks
@@saltydad2987 I appreciate the compliment! I’m definitely still learning every time I play. Even if you don’t get tons of likes as long as you’re having fun doing it that’s all that matters 😊💕
Thanks for the great video of lights and,how to use them in the correct way. It's totally changed the way my camp turned out. Thanks again and for all the other tips and tricks .
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it. I’m glad you found it useful. 😊👍🏼
10/10 video! Very helpful and I loved how you showcased everything and sorted it 🙌 Try one of the best camp building videos. Very well thought out and easy to follow.
Thank you so much! 💖😄
Amazing! Mini cinematography course.
Thanks Duy! :)
Awesome video. I learned a lot, thank you.
Glad to hear it Gentugo! Thank you so much for checking it out. :)
This tutorial is amazing. A lot of details are very useful. Thank you!
Thank you! I’m glad it was helpful. 😁👍🏼
Nice video, this will help with my Brotherhood Outcast camp. Thanks!
Perfect! Thanks for watching :)
This is very helpful, I am the type of person that make shelters and don't put lights on it.
😂 But now i know how to use lights properly. Nice video
Gotta start somewhere! Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😁👍🏼
I am blown away. I downloaded this video, and probably refer back to it at least thirty million times. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
Awesome! I'm so glad it's helpful to you. Thanks so much 💖
I'm just getting into this game. I really enjoy the building aspect. After watching this video I want to play around with hiding lights in objects and walls. Especially walls. Thanks.
Welcome to the fallout community! Thank you for watching. Building is one of the best aspects of the game. 😁 I hope you enjoy it.
My word that voice make angels cry ,demons sleep eh lol thanks merging is weird and your simple explained vids have been the best so far
Haha! You are too kind 🥰 Thanks for watching!
I always wondered how people did this! Thanks for making an in-depth tutorial of how to do this.
You're welcome! I'm glad you found it helpful and thanks for much for watching :)
Many techniques you’re speaking on are what I remember in art school. All us photographer & film majors all had to take a lighting class. I use the color wheel for everything these days. Thanks for the tutorial 🌊
Yes! I’m jealous I didn’t take a film class when I went. I absolutely love it! Thanks for watching ☺️
Thank you for doing this video. This was the video I was looking for; it was informative and detailed enough that I feel like I could implement these techniques. You really have a great eye and knowledge for light and color. I feel like a person who draws stick figures with light compared to your master painter abilities. I'm saving it to my watch later list as a reference.
Awe haha, I'm very flattered. 💖 Thank you for watching, I'm glad it was informative for you. 👍🏼
This is an awesome idea, your the best at lighting your camps too. Thank you for your work, and content.
I'm glad you enjoyed it Junius! That means a lot 😊💖
