If I had some one like you ....I would still be with their father....different time....different mindset
Mom of 3 boys… you’re doing great! The first month or 2 is the hardest, 6 months is the funnest… and then they become little mobile people, eventually. All 3 of my boys were very different as babies, different chill, different sleep patterns, different personalities. You are so fortunate, being self employed, to be able to be so present and to capture all of her milestones.
No plans to be a parent but this video brought a big smile to my face. Happy to hear you have such a chill baby and looking forward to seeing her grow over the next year!

Congratulations to you both on the arrival of your little kiwi girl. Glad to hear you are paying attention to getting adequate sleep. Well done on the home reno and setting up the nest these past two years. Best wishes in the weeks and years to come. Your lives will never be the same, and there is likely to be a drop in life satisfaction. If this happens, please don't blame eachother because it is the norm for the decade or two of parenting burdens and somewhat unavoidable - no one's fault, and life satisfaction goes up again when children are safely grown into independence. But like all growth, it will be slow and gradual, especially for us humans and the complicated world we have constructed. Enjoy the ride when the joy is flowing, breathe through the parental insecuries and fears, and continue to be kind to eachother. Aloha!

Hi Alex! I’m so happy for you ❤ Carrie and I shared due dates but my son came 4 weeks earlier so I’m related with everything you said. He almost don’t cry and he’s sleeping a lot but with more awake moments every day. Yesterday I put away his new born clothes. He is growing fast like yours! We need to enjoy every minute ❤

I'm beyond happy for you and Carrie; I LOVE the name too (it was actually our choice, had our son been a girl). Def enjoy EVERY second, it goes by so fast...my son will be 13 soon and it's mind-blowing how fast time slips away.
Sharing our first parenting month: it was a tad hard. We don't have family near us where we live, and after a few weeks (right on my 1st mother's day) our son developed colic. My husband is very much like you, supportive and helpful, so it wasn't as bad, as long as we had a routine. Nap time with the baby was the best!

Lovely update. What does Lanka think of his new family member? 😊
I haven’t given birth for 17 years but in both instances had a 1-2 night stay, lactation consultant, follow up blood work, physical etc all before release from hospital, both births in the USA. Also…Norwegians let their kids nap in a pram outdoors in winter so a draft isn’t a big enemy.

You do look Tired, but also very happy, Alex. So pleased that Eliana is being such a calm baby.
My son slept in a bassinet in our bedroom until he outgrew the bassinet at 5 months old. Then he was transferred to the crib in his own bedroom (the nursery if you will, but we never called it the nursery) He was moved to a toddler bed at age 2, once he started escaping from the crib. Things to look forward too.
Every stage has its moments ❤️
I remember Alex driving away from the hospital and looking at our daughter in the back seat and thinking, we are responsible for this tiny human being. The first few months were exhausting and the first 2 weeks of breastfeeding was brutal on the nips. This is a wonderful time when they are so small, soft and smell delicious. Except for the explosive poops. You both look happy and wonderful.
