Shaletia maybe 10% honest. I don’t think she’s honest enough to report the rape of her daughter (I didn’t hear her say it) & go to rehab. She said she doesn’t want help. she been depressed all her life.
I don’t think Shaletia wanna do the work to get clean & sober. There is life after addiction. A better life living pill free.

Unfortunately, there's a stereotype that says black women are so strong, powerful, we can go through extreme abuse and torture but still raise up to the top. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of black women like that. But black women like her ( and myself) people who struggle to deal with trauma or litterally can't function because they can't handle the feelings they have what do we do for them? Call them failures? Why do we as a society have such little compassion for quote on quote weak black women or black women who need help, who need somebody to help them? Even in the media no one shows the affect of abuse on black women at all. We're always seen as single as if we don't deserve partners who love us.
I wish black men knew that putting all this pressure on black women and children to shut up and be quiet about physical and or sexual abuse is actually hurting the black community. And we need to support the ones who can't do it all alone.

Not just the black men but the black community not wanting they "business" out by telling the truth. After watching so many of these people, it seems that most of their issues started as children with trauma. I pray that my child never has to endure a fraction of the pain that these people have gone through. I've fought with addiction for years but one main thing changed and that was having a child. I pray that God gives me the ability to protect my child so he doesn't have to go through any of the things these people have. As a blk woman, we are looked upon as always having to be strong and independent. Sometimes we do need a hand but we don't have anyone to reach out to. It's crazy the things we as black women have to endure and prove that we deserve love and protection and a chance at survival.

I think black parents in general need to stop mislabelling mental fatigue and issues as "white people stuff". We need to learn that we are human. Our brain emotes and sometimes we are hurt and need healing. Stio being so resilient and let someone help you. I legit can not wait to go back to counseling. Best thing I've went through. 😄

It angers me, as someone that has MS, epilepsy, and Migraines, that the CDC has prevented doctors from prescribing pain medication, necessary to live a productive life, to this lady, that sells and abuses those same pills many of the chronic pain folks are committing suicide, because they can’t find proper pain management.
She said her family doesn’t check on her, yet in the same breath, said her uncle gave her a car. She has a place to live, and a car, and says she’s not going to change, or try to change. She contradicted herself several times. I wish her well, but she needs to stop being the perpetual victim, and realize the blessings she has. She’s making excuses for her behavior. Give it to God, NOW.
She wishes the best for herself? What about her kids? Her sister? This was a tough one for me.

I felt so many of these sentiments. "Why am I still fighting against this? Why am I still alone?" Hits me right at the bottom of my heart. I'm admittedly too high to really feel it right now, but I understand. I wish I was different. I'm a different human with entirely different traumas, but we are so similar. I watch so many of these interviews. The only difference between us is that I somehow manage a decent full-time job and hold my apartment down. For now. Yet it makes me no better. I see these lost souls in myself. I am no better or worse. Demons are demons. Who knows where I'll be in 5 years. I drop 30%+ of my income monthly on my addictions. I'm only 33. It's always been this way. I'm not where I was, but I'm definitely far from where I thought I would be. May we find our peace someday. Or some version of true happiness. One day we will be enough. I really hope so, anyways. Until then, we numb it. It's how we survive. Rinse, wash, repeat, survive.

Shaletia, Thank you for sharing your story with us. I hate what happened to you and the pain you feel. You’re not alone. So many dealt really shitty cards some definitely worse than others. Nonetheless suffering is suffering. I understand 100% why anyone would reach for something that gives you relief or perceived relief, however fleeting. I do it, so many do it in every form imaginable. It doesn’t speak for your character your identity. YOU ARE NOT BAD, ITS WHAT YOUVE KNOWN. Environment matters more than I think people understand. On a chemical biological physiological level. You have tremendous insight and IMO exude incredible strength and resilience. I believe in you beautiful woman 🙏🏽❤️ hugs.

There’s so much pain in this world. With each unique story, I’m reminded that we all hurt and before I react, I pause and wonder what unhidden pain someone else could be going through-and I always considered myself more empathetic than most.
Thanks Mark and everyone you interview❤️

Go to McDonald's they will hire you on the spot! Go to fast food they would love you. You have management qualities. You would move up sooner than you think. You already have a place already, you halfway there! You have set yourself apart from a lot of people on this show. You know that you can do better. You want to do right! You are amazing!

Throw those pills away ffs. You owe it to yourself. You would make one hell of an inspirational speaker!! 🗣 Good luck to you 🍀🙌
