Have 2002 since new, and absolutely love the car. Reliable, comfortable, huge trunk, plenty room in the back, great gas mileage, smoooooth ride, and low key. What else can you ask for?
I've got a 2002 with 80k miles. CDX with leather seats. I would have preferred cloth seats, but there isn't a lot of choice of these vehicles available. I'm in the UK so the fuel consumption is considered quite high due to the high price of fuel. Its also rare so is also considered a bit of a classic already. There are probably less than 300 left on the road from this generation including the 3.0 v6 and 2.4 of all variants. We didn't get a long wheelbase version. We didn't get any uk market camry after 2006 until 2019 when all that is avaliable is a hybrid version. There are a few imports from Japan that are about but I have only seen them for sale online. If I keep mine good it will go up in value. The market asking prices have gone up about £1000 in the last 3 years.
I have owned a 2005 Toyota Camry SE V6 (3.3L) which has just under 300,000km. So far I have put just shy of 40,000kms on the vehicle and have taken it on several longer trips (5+ hours). I have really enjoyed the car and unlike the XLE, it has a sunroof and heated leather seats in the front with unheated leather seats in the back. The power out of the 3.3L engine is phenomenal (230hp and 225 ft pounds of torque if memory serves correct) and is surprisingly quick. I have swapped out the factory head unit for a touch screen JVC head unit with apple car play which pairs nicely with the factory JBL sound system. It is comfortable and well equipped ride. Anyone looking for a comfortable and well equipped vehicle as a first vehicle, daily beater, or just good old Toyota reliability will not be disappointed in this era of Camry. If you can, find the V6 models as the extra power is nice to have.
Bought my wife a 2004 LE touring edition with about 160,000 miles private sale 3 years ago for $2850 with service records after having it inspected by an independent mechanic. It also has the wood trim, sun roof, and gold lettering, so it’s about as pimped out as an LE can be. We’ve really only had to do some exhaust work owing to living in the rust belt. Good in the snow, drives smooth, big trunk, good fuel economy, beautiful interior, unparalleled reliability. She loves it. And we’re saving about $500/year by not having collision on it. Already it’s been a great deal and hopefully we’ll have her for several more years
@@lilyofthevalley4740 No, it is a V4. Still has sufficient power for us. Cruises at 80 without issue. I read some fear the V4 engine can get more easily damaged by overheating, so I just watch the coolant and told my wife to pull over immediately and have it towed if it ever starts to overheat. Thankfully, that hasn’t happened. It needs new sway bar links and it burns about a quart of oil every 3k miles that I monitor and top off. That’s it. Bought a '02 Camry new twenty years ago. SE, V6, Aspen Green, beige leather with black and silver/chrome accents. Handsome interior. From the factory with firmer suspension (but not too firm), strut tower brace, sport, three-spoke steering wheel and black badges. The alloy wheels are very easy to clean. The rear spoiler looks good and adds detail. Factory tires were hard compound and scary in snow. 94,000 miles today. Three batteries and three sets of tires. Replaced front right wheel bearing and the left rear wh bearing. Some minor issues with right side passenger windows but they work and seal quiet. Zero squeaks or rattles today. Best vehicle I've ever had.
I have an 06 too. 4-5 years, all I've changed are front brake pads once and the alternator. Someone hit it and insurance wanted to total it out for cosmetic damage. No way, With the engine and tranny on those, you patch it up and drive it forever. Most solid, reliable car I ever owned.

I have an 05 LE, 2.4 Liter. There is wind noise by the driver's side window, as you mentioned in the video. The gas and brake pedals are very annoying. Touch the gas a bit too much from a stop and the car lurches forward. The brake pedal does nothing at first, until you push it a little more, then stops hard all of a sudden. Also, there is something rolling around inside the passenger door. Other than that it's pretty nice. Just bought it at 110K. Hope it lasts.

Have white 93 v6 xle. Agree with guys below live body style. Only place toyota choked it was wheel choice. Aftermarket has options i found cheap but nice alternative. Pull a part. Got 4 aluminum wheels 6 spoke nissans off 03 altima. Finish was flaking and powder coating is 100 a wheel. Got all 4 for 160 at pull a part. I sanded and painted them a dark metallic gray, looks great on white. Many new white cars gave gray wheels and i liked the look. Paint can chip faster than powder coating but touch up is s breeze on car. For purist i took nissan center caps popped off nissan logo filled holes painted to match wheel then glued on toyota logos. Had a few guys ask when toyota made these wheels lol.
I have the 05. Great car. At 6 foot 5 I fit in it just fine, which is surprising. 200k miles and it runs like it just hit 100k. You feel the road quite a bit, and I would say "well maybe its because it has 200k" but we bought my wife's 2012 with 23k miles and I thought you felt the road more than you should. Kind of nit picky but thats probably my only complaint.
Thank you for the reply. How many miles on the car? I am looking to buy my Neigbour’s grandma’s car with 50000 miles on it. I know the 2AZ FE was problematic with oil consumption issues. They say only from 2007-2009 so I am just trying to find out if the older 2002-2006 2AZ had the same issues. The car was build in Kentucky and that is where the problems came from apparently.

What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting on the 4cyl, there's a clean 06 with 130k miles with all the records of service for 4k but also a nice 2002 Corolla at 140k miles same story for 1k less.. if there isnt that much of a mpg gap I'd get the Camry and be more comfortable and all that , thanks much appreciated
Corolla also seemed to me to be gutless, had problems passing cars on the hwy. The Camry is smooth and the transmissions r great. Biggest cause of check engine light is the 02 censor (there's 2 and usually the bottom one goes).
I think you want to connect an mp3 player to play though the cars sound system. In that case try to find a cassette tape adapter that comes with an attached cord with a 3.5mm plug which you plug into your mp3 player. So your mp3 player plays though the cassette deck assuming of course that your car has one. My 2002 Camry has a cassette deck.
not stock but there's an adapter that makes use of the cd changer plug and turns it into bluetooth/aux... it's probably easier to just upgrade the stereo to an aftermarket one
I will sum up best most reliable luxury sedan in price range ever. In 4cyl or 6cyl no car ever was better than this gen camry have 03 335k miles. 3 parts that are non wear items like tires breaks etc failed. You see how stupid these laws are. A perfectly good car is going to the junkyard or landfill, polluting the environment...
@@tube.brasil or ship and sell it in another state!
California is a terrible state to live in. How can you live in such a restrictive area?
@@tube.brasil Smog is still bad in many areas of CA, can't too much blame them for still being strict
The Toyota Camry became the #1 selling car in 1997 because they are very reliable, well built sedans
Would this be a good buy 2003 le with 101k miles 2 owners clean carfax and autocheck for 5 k. Oil changes every 3 k miles per carfax. Would this last me a few years?
Great car driving 22 jaar with those
Have white 93 v6 xle.
03 not 93
Perfect video ❤❤
Got 2002 left 49000 miles just changed the stater pulleys bad maybe 1 cylinder bad vaccum leak all in a month new battery too
Awesome video
I'm buying one tomorrow lol
I got 470 miles in one gas tank then the low gas light turned on!
@Rvqsx - 10-4!
Toyota Camry 2002.
Is good. 💯🇵🇷👍
Nice video bro.
Solid car
That’s awesome
Love my camry 2.4g 2005.
Like that aftermarket front classy
What is a spidometer?.
Fun fact those are actually 06-11 Camry hubcaps
Use the overdrive on and off button on the shifter and gear selector to better manage certain acceleration on the 4 cyl.
I found one for $1000 it might be my first car hopefully
非常棒的一台車👍
Eye candy
Any oil consumption issues. I hear those engines have problems with oil consumption ?
20 year old 2002 camry here, 1 liter on 7000 miles
Thank you for the reply. How many miles on the car? I am looking to buy my Neigbour’s grandma’s car with 50000 miles on it. I know the 2AZ FE was problematic with oil consumption issues. They say only from 2007-2009 so I am just trying to find out if the older 2002-2006 2AZ had the same issues. The car was build in Kentucky and that is where the problems came from apparently.
@@jacoe33333 I've had no oil consumption issues on my 02 LE Camry so far. I bought it in 2018 with 194k miles on it. I don't know if the previous owner had the warranty used and the leak issue resolved but as of now no leaks or burning.
what tint does it have on the windows?
nice video
In looking to get my daughter an older Camry for her graduation next year
My 2003 Camry needs a catalytic converter to be replace in order to pass the smog is going to cost me around 1300 I don’t know what to do it has 210000 miles don’t know if is worthy to fix it
If it’s a 4 banger I would and later save to rebuild engine or get a lower mileage motor
Quiet ride? Those things are noisy as hell.. great, reliability, but definitely not quiet.
I went to college with a guy that had one about that same color.
Yeah that’s me. Hey what’s up bro? Go state!
Does it have Aux?
No
Can i drive this toyota from New Jersey to California?, my camry 2002 have 143000 miles i want drive
Yeah lexus was even jealous if it
What kind of gas mileage are you guys getting on the 4cyl, there's a clean 06 with 130k miles with all the records of service for 4k but also a nice 2002 Corolla at 140k miles same story for 1k less.. if there isnt that much of a mpg gap I'd get the Camry and be more comfortable and all that , thanks much appreciated
Camry, There's a chance the Corolla could be one of the oil burning ones.
Corolla also seemed to me to be gutless, had problems passing cars on the hwy. The Camry is smooth and the transmissions r great. Biggest cause of check engine light is the 02 censor (there's 2 and usually the bottom one goes).
2002-06 Camry of this generation gets 28 mog city but 34 mog highway. I have an 05 Camry almost 18 years and still running trouble free.
About 25 mpg mixed use on regular
350,000 MILES on my camry original engine.
Is it a v6 tho?
V6?
Does this car have somewhere I can plug in a Aux cord?
??
No, but you could get a little radio transmitter or swap out the stereo.
No but the radio is easy to swap out or you could get a bluetooth transmitter like I did to play music off my phone
Wow
it cannot die
like turn on the fog lights, it has no switch 05
It's on the light switch
Mine is minty beautiful xle she’s staying she’s my girl
Oh okay
I will sum up best most reliable luxury sedan in price range ever. In 4cyl or 6cyl no car ever was better than this gen camry have 03 335k miles. 3 parts that are non wear items like tires breaks etc failed. All after 250k knock sensor alternator and radiator got rock hole. Beat that with any car 3 times the cost
There’s nothing wrong with the Toyota Camry people on TH-cam don’t know what they’re talking about other TH-cam channels Japanese cars are the best Toyota Corolla in Toyota Camry the best selling car nationwide You go to your local car dealer and see if you can find one of two of those cars They are hard to fine
Camry owners: Let's add comments what is your Camry year and mileage. Let's start from me: Camry LE 2006 with 245,000 miles 1.02.2022
Camry 2006 le 254,300
Camry 2006 LE with 232,000 and runs like new!
2002 XLE 202,000.
2005 LE with leather seats, purchased 3yrs.ago with 226,000 miles..Used it for LYFT until March 2020 when Covid hit. Now coming up to 257,000 miles. Replaced a lot of parts and bought the wood grain trim parts on Ebay and now looks like an XLE inside.
Love this car and enjoy driving it more than my 2015 RAV4 purchased new.
@@williamdorsey2029 sounds so good man, i'd love to see the pics really
I had one and it was an amazing car. I miss it so much.
How was the leg room? I’m about 5’11
@@SirAuron777 I'm 5'8 but there is plenty of room available.
@@skeno71 thanks for replying, I have a 2013 civic and I can barely stretch my legs out. Very uncomfortable during long drives. Might consider selling it and getting one of these Camry’s so I can also have a bit of money saved with a slightly bigger car
In 2021 the Hyundai Elantra base model ( standard ) is the new most reliable car remark my words .
Are they going to be cars that will run strong well beyond 200K, even 300K miles and hold together like a Camry? I always see Hyundais and KIAs for sale at 100K miles for really cheap prices. They seem like nice vehicles though for sure, just don't know about longevity.
it cant be 12 years old if its from 2002 its 18 years old
Lol
05 Camry le
Huge trunk to move dead bodies, I mean luggage.
Ugly car i can say that, second generation much more handsome
There's really nothing special about this generation camry in my opinion, overall it's ugly just like the 2012-14 model,I'm an owner of an 2015 XLE camry that model looks good except for the back, wish they would have design that camry differently.
@@dallascowboysnumberonefan4863 this is far more comfortable than a new Camry 18-21.
Not as stylish, but worth investment if you want reliably and resale for what you paid for it.
2002 is the worst year of camrys ever made even ask people who work at a junkyard when you have to take it there because the transmissions go out really warly compared to other years. Had 5 camrys, both 2002s died over 100k miles soonee than my other years. Worst toyota ever.
My 2005 is at 216,000 miles going strong
@@Mossy_0 not a 2002 though
Not the top of the line. Highest trim level came with the V6 engine and alloy wheels.
The XLE is the top of the line in trim. The V6 was optional on all models, and that added the alloys and rear disc brakes.
