Every time I click on an old Hawthorne Heights performance and I see Casey, I can't help but tear up. They're still great without him and I love how they didn't stop because of that, but his legacy will live on and I know many kids down where I live who listen to this kind of music and don't even know who Hawthorne Heights is. It just flat out sucks because they shaped the harder music scene but just by a little well the melodic hardcore scene that is.
@@Alfie__2003 chesters voice was the main attraction - Hawthorne Heights had a good blend of sandpaper and silk - i think the band died with Casey. Very sad, this band inspired me to play guitar.

@@MrJimmyTide It's not about music sucking nowadays, it's just that only a few music genres matter in mainstream media now. Back then all kinds of music would be played on TV, including Post-hxc like Hawthorne Heights, and that just doesn't happen nowadays.
@Caradog now that you're mentioning Twenty One Pilots can you really think that they're not doing something deferent? They're literally taking the sound of the 10s and adding a lot of things inspired by the 90s and 2000s, people put them in the same box as emo because they're screaming in mainstream music witch didn't happen anymore when they got big, also those soundcloud rapper's are actually making rock more accessible again by either making rock themselves or talking about how much they love rock, BTW Twenty One Pilots has luckily never made lyrics as cringe as "SO CUT MY RIST AND BLACK MY EYE"
When I was in high school this song was all that played on the radio and I would talk so much shit even though I listened to bands like Senses Fail and other scream bands but secretly way down hidden deep I loved it and would play it every night on my guitar when I got home. I love music like this. Its sort of making a come back. Well pop punk anyway.
Keith Jones tell me about it, used to give some kids at school grief because they obsessed over my chemical romance. I liked the music, too. I don’t even know why I was a cunt when it came to emo music.
They all play in sync with each other and the different instruments blend well together. That = musical talent. It doesn't mean you have to like the song.
@@BrandonTownsend It was Citalopram and Clonazepam and Vicodin. He was already on the Citalopram (depression), but developed tooth pain while on tour so he went to a dentist, but didnt tell the dentist that he was on other meds. Well when you combine Citalopram and Vicoden and Clonazepam, it causes a reaction that makes your throat clamp shut. He was alone on the tour bus and took both meds and had a reacton. yeah, hawthorne heights is pretty sweet live. I saw them at warped in detroit, and they made the mainstage have more than enough room, but for hawthorne heights and underoath there were so much people that it went to other stages and around the stadium.
they had really big shows when they first got out on the scene and now they have little shows... and i love it :) I went to their show and I could just halfway extend my arm and touch JT's leg. Ahh the best night of my life :)
