Matt your crowd work is impeccable!!! I hope to one day be able to attend one of your shows!!! I truly enjoy how you take time to include so many different people in your show and make them feel special ♥️ You seem so genuine and kind. It makes it easy to love the person you are🥰
Matt, thank you for sharing your generous and authentic talents. I am 68, and your humor gives me joy. I look forward to watching you every day. Love who you are in the world.
What an awesome interview. The outlook this man has. He has gone so far, and I love that he is honest about his anxieties which makes those of us dealing with that feel ok. Sometimes it's as much of a stress trigger to know we deal with that. Matt has brought joy to my life and I really needed it. At my age, laughter and smiling is very important and healthy. Much love to Matt.
Totally agree 😁 You should also check out Adam Ray. Funny, great with crowd, after his shows he always offers photo opps and talks to fans. Good guy, good comedy . He also does a show Dr. Phil live and Matt was one of the guests...so funny 😂😂❤❤
Great interview with Matt..he is so upfront and unapologetic with so many explanations on his success and how he is learning all the time through his journey..I have nothing but admiration for this guy who’s had so much to deal with in having so many knocks and still managed to get to the place that has now come to fruition..just please learn to sleep 😴 🙏🏽😊🥰
@@TrixGrace-xn6sw Bend way over and reach up. You'll probably be able to feel the stick. Pull it out, and you'll feel so much better, and probably will be far less annoying. 😂😂
Having seen Matt in Boston and all his specials, there is no one quicker on the crowd with a comeback that's so funny. You have to love how he treats everyone that same, no issues making fun of anyone because people know he's only joking. When he runs into the crowd to take a selfie with the handicapped fans it's heard warming.
He got unfairly torn apart after his first Netflix special because people were looking to to bash him. Whenever someone really succeeds, there is an unfortunately sector of miserable people seeking to tear them down. He is so talented, and I'm glad he stepped right back, doing crowdwork, an area where he has skill at a level that most comedians don't have. If he is already this good in his 20s, there is no limit to how good he can get with decades of experience still in front of him.
👸🏽🇹🇹I recently saw something about becoming famous and money success. It's a breeding ground for abuse. The famous person gets picked on and situated in double binds. It will be unfair for most of his life.
I love stand up comedy in its many forms. That said, when I first saw Matt's stand up back in the day when he was rolling with All Def, I thought his material and everything was hilarious! He offered an interesting perspective. Over time, I noticed the crowds seemed to be simping for him, desperate to be engaged by him. He was still telling jokes around that time. More and more, his audience seemed to turn into thirsty ladies and lads who wanted to gaze upon him and be graced by his attention. From there, the last show of his that I watched featured an audience of people aching to be chosen next. That trajectory is wonderful for his career and for those people who enjoy his present style of comedy, but I can't help feeling kind of bummed out that he ended up doing his comedy in this way that seems to stifle it. Of course, this is all merely my personal opinion. He's a super funny dude, but thirsty people couldn't stop the objectification for one second to let the dude tell jokes. I've no doubt that crowd work is hard, but having your comedy kind of atrophy because the audience can't accept attractive and funny at the same time can be a little bit disappointing. Some of his audiences come off as groupies who will abandon ship as soon as they aren't conversationally centered at his shows anymore. Maybe not; I don't know. I just love stand up, and I appreciate talented comedians; so it just kind of sucks to see someone good become pigeonholed -- even if they are successful at the thing they're pigeonholed into. It's also interesting to see how or in which ways people defend him, when they may not even bother with the comedy that he did when he was telling his stories and sharing his perspectives more directly. I hope that people continue to support him (and other comedians in the same boat) if he opts for a different comedy format in the future.
