heyy, really liked this video. I kept noticing people playing from the side of their mouth and so I tried to imitate that. I got the sounds but I was unable to unlock certain other things but yeah playing from the middle makes so much sense. I can see some progress. Thanks!
Your awesome mama ! I’ve been following a few other teachers. But your instructions are simplified clear and very understandable, I started from the side of my lips as I had more success in drone cb bird calls. But’ I couldn’t make the voice the toot’s. I’ve been following you the past few weeks I’m so grateful in your instruction. I have now beeswax my dodge to 28mm. I’m starting again from the front. Tho my drone is not yet apparent. I tried some voicing ✅ CB✅ I believe once I get the drone happening again, like you say at the end of your videos you will be a good didge player. I do this for the soul the harmonica use to bring this to me. But I really feel the inner soul buzzing inside when I’m droning. Love and light to you Mama D mean AZ buzz Chur Te
Thank you my friend!!! And a tiny bit on the side is okay, just make sure the lip edges are not covered by the mouthpiece. And I understand that the drone on the side is nicer now, but if you can do it well on the front, it will benefit so much the coming techniques. Good luck and if you keep struggling, let me know, I will give you some more pointers. Have fun and good luck!!!❤️☀️🎶
I’m finding that my mouth is open more to make a drone when I cheek in On air is coming out. So I’m practicing your lip drills will this increase the strength of my lips. Any way I’m trying this, I do go to the side (nownthen)to see if it’s the size of the new mouth piece. As it feels a bit different. But thanks again Mama D
I’ve been playing the Didge for about 25 years. Absolutely love playing. The only problem I have, I can’t do the circular breathing. It’s so hard for me to do. Wish I knew how. You’re amazing!
Hi dear MrClemmo, did you ever have private lessons for Circular Breathing? Because I believe I can teach you how to do it. So if you want, I’m here to help. ❤️🎶☀️
Lip flapping=Raspberry or motorboat! LOL. You were absolutely right about not playing from the side of your mouth. I couldn't get the pulsing drone sound playing from the side of my mouth. Tonight I said: "I'm going to take Didge Momma's advice and play fron the front of my mouth." I got the perfect droning pulse on a $3 piece of PVC pipe and all I could do was laugh for about 5 minutes when I realized I was doing it wrong the whole time! Love ya Didge Mama!
Hello from England, I'm 76 yrs old, due to health issues I have no teeth, and I can't wear dentures. I bought a didgeridoo but I a having difficulty making the drone sound. I play guitar and other string instruments, but I think this didgeridoo has got me beat.
Yes will be difficult, but not impossible. Think you have to first train your lip Muscles a lot and maybe do play on the side. I would love to look at it together with you, if we can make it possible. Are you up for that, John? ❤️☀️🎶
I got a Didgeridoo i got it from Australia and it originally one and it very hard work my fish in the tank may play with there lips i am Laird Roger from uk
Hello Lies, I just started before, on the side of the mouth. Was just getting a better drone and managed the circular breathing. After this I found your clear lesson 1, so now I'm trying to get the same sound from the middle. The same hole seems bigger now, also the didge is very close to my nose now, but more difficult to get the right sound and do the cb. Is it a matter of practice you think, or I do something wrong? I'm tended to go back to the side but I like to follow your nice and clear tutorials. And I'd prefer the middle position. Thanks for putting the videos up and for your help❤
Hi dear Marise, Thank you so much for your clear and important question. 👍 Two things, yes the mouthpiece might be too big for front playing. It should be around 2.8 - 3 cm. And the mouthpiece could be a bit bulky, so your nose is in the way. So if it is too big, I made a video on making a beeswax mouthpiece, that can be helpful. And if it is too bulky, maybe you can build it up a bit, so it is easy to play. You can always make a little video and send it to my 📧didgemama@gmail.com so I can have a look at it and give you some advice. ✅ Also we can look at it together in a free 15min online lesson. 🎶❤️☀️
@@DidgeMama thanks loads, will check that video first and see what I can do and thanks for the opportunity to have a look together. Highly appreciated! Might contact you in the near future. Either way. Grateful for your existence and sharing🤗😘
Hello DidgeMama...I was introduced to the sacred instrument many many years ago the sound grabs my soul I just ordered one a beginner one to try..i was searching and searching.. and found you're TH-cam so I will be practicing thank you
Thanks a lot for the great tutorial! I got a question: I think I got the drone (there is a deep and a higher sound when I am playing and with the tongue and the cheeks I can change it). But the high sound is way more quiet. How can I let it sound louder and more clearly? :) Thanks alot and greetings :)
Thanks for your question!Interesting because normally the higher sound is more loud. Maybe can you send me a soundfile or video? So I can reply in a good manner. To didgemama@gmail.com. Thanks. Love and light
Thank you. Wish I had found you years ago. I have been playing on side of my mouth, badly haha. So now I am trying to correct this. Thank you for your help
My pleasure 😇! Really keeping the middle part outwards, sometimes you need to blow more up, and really keep the lips together! Good luck and if this doesn’t help you can always send me a video of you trying to my @gmail.com ❤️☀️🎶Didge mama
I've been playing a little for about 18 months, watching lots of different teachers, and found that useful, so I'll follow you. My biggest frustration is can't seem to hit any high notes and I'm not sure how to improve this component. I still have a gap in my circular breathing unless I quicken it up with a bounce breath. Maybe you might cover these points in future tutorials. Thanks. Peter, Australia.
@@DidgeMama High voice, would like to improve animal sounds like dingo kookaburra dog bark, any notes that add more sound variety. Much of my playing has a sameness about it. Thanks.
@@petermarshall7882 in the tutorial about the voice, I explain that the high voice you focus it from the stomach. So stomach goes in and throat is open. Good luck 👍
Might be a daft question, but do you put your lips right up to the didgeridoo, or do you leave a gap from the mouthpiece? Can’t quite get the right sound yet!
Is actually a good question Christopher!!! I push the mouthpiece really quite strongly to my mouth, I really make sure I have a perfect seal. No air should escape. I hope you can find the right tone soon. It might also be the didgeridoo, if it has a leak or something it is really hard to get the drone. Good luck and ❤️☀️🎶
Just beginning, and I find getting the higher sound difficult, it just goes to nothing. Will keep trying, I would really like to be able to play something on the didgeridoo!
Hi dear Christopher, Make sure you don’t overblown but think to put a little idea of going to the toilet for a number two, if you understand what I mean. Good luck and have fun! ❤️☀️🎶
I've started on 110 cm Didgeridoo and bought 185 cm....On the small one I have no problem at all ,but the big one....I'm just stuck. Cannot play simple note. I'm trying and I can only keep the deep sound for 1-2 seconds. Deep water I got in.
Love it thank you for explaining... Crazy question! I have never played any musical instrument and had bought a tourist didgeridoo from a shop here in Cornwall... is it meant to have a mouth piece inside the hole ? Or do you try and play it with your mouth 👄 on the bamboo part ?
Angela Rogers I’m glad you find it useful! About the mouth piece, how big is the hole??? If it is about 1.8inches and not hurting when you play, it is fine just like that. If not, can you wait till Monday? I will do an extra video about mouth pieces!!! ❤️🎶☀️
Didge Mama I’ll go and measure it now ! It seems huge but as I’ve said I’ve never played anything before so it’s all very new ... but I’ve dreamt so many time of playing it

I habe a question. I got a digeridoo from Bambus. I am a beginner. I can do play the digeridoo BUT I cannot do the right breath. I need a lot of air to do sounds on my digeridoo. Can it be, that the Bambus Digeridoo isn't the best to practice playing a digeridoo? Or is it only my fault?
Hi question.. I've been using my tounge to vibrate my top lip, I was wondering if you're supposed to use your tounge to increase or decrease speed, or just lips
Hi there! My girlfriend and I love your videos, but she tells me that my lip buzzing doesn't look like yours. I suspect my top lip is the issue, perhaps it is too tight? I can sort of get a drone going on my didgeridoo but it takes too much air, more air than I think you or most didgeridoo players use. It seems inefficient to use so much air. I want to make sure I have the fundamentals down and can do a solid drone before advancing to anything else. I was wondering if you'd be willing to help me? Thanks again for providing these tutorial videos!

Hiii., plz help Guys, i just can not buzz INSIDE the didge with the seal touching the lips. It obstructs me from produsing any buzz whatsoever. The seals ring just traps my muscles dead, i let the didge rest on chin. I tried putting didge on the floor and not to rest on chin to remove the pressure. Doesnt matter, as soon as the didge seal encloses my mouth - its dead. I can buzz without the didge, reproducing what is shown in the video. I have Meinl Trombone Didge, complete beginner. My tone is very, very deep/low. I will practice now this lip exercise. Amazing. I am excited to get the right tone.. FINALLY! I'll message next week when I've completed this. Thank you Didge mama

Happy to hear!!!🙏❤️🎶

Lip flapping=Raspberry or motorboat! LOL. You were absolutely right about not playing from the side of your mouth. I couldn't get the pulsing drone sound playing from the side of my mouth. Tonight I said: "I'm going to take Didge Momma's advice and play fron the front of my mouth." Hello Lies, I just started before, on the side of the mouth.
Hi dear Marise,
Thank you so much for your clear and important question.
👍
Two things, yes the mouthpiece might be too big for front playing.
Also we can look at it together in a free 15min online lesson. 🎶❤️☀️

Thanks a lot for the great tutorial! I got a question: I think I got the drone (there is a deep and a higher sound when I am playing and with the tongue and the cheeks I can change it).
High notes, do you mean thrumpet tones, or high voice?

I've started on 110 cm Didgeridoo and bought 185 cm....On the small one I have no problem at all ,but the big one....I'm just stuck. Cannot play simple note. I'm trying and I can only keep the deep sound for 1-2 seconds. Deep water I got in.
I can help for sure. You can send me a little video of you trying the 185cm, to my didgemama@gmail.com and I can see/hear what is happening. ❤️🎶☀️
It seems huge but as I’ve said I’ve never played anything before so it’s all very new ... but I’ve dreamt so many time of playing it
33/35mm (or 1 inch and a 1/4)
Angela Rogers I would make it with beeswax a bit smaller, I’ll show it on a video coming Monday. Because it should be not more than 30mm.
Angela Rogers do you think you can get some beeswax somewhere?

Hi there! My girlfriend and I love your videos, but she tells me that my lip buzzing doesn't look like yours. I suspect my top lip is the issue, perhaps it is too tight?
