He was also heavily drinking and doing drugs at the time..and then went to prison for chaining an escort to his bedroom wall with the help of an accomplice and then almost beating the escort to death with a large, industrial metal chain. Luckily the escort was able to escape when George left to go find something worst to hurt him with from his kitchen. The escorts bodily damage was so bad when the presiding judge saw his bloody hospital pictures he immediately sentenced George to prison.

honestly boy george had balls of steel to do and be what he was in the 80s. to dress like that ended up challenging everyone, whether he wanted to or not, of course he was just being himself which is even more incredible that he didn't change to be successful and to please everyone, it ended up turning him into an icon. back then people didn't have filters when it came to judge and offend gay people or someone who dressed like him, they didn't try to be conscious and not to offend, very few people were white knighting for others and holding the flag like it is today where everyone tries to shield minorities. this guy really had to deal with a lot and never seemed to falter. now a bunch of people are out and proud, but back then? really, guys like these were the real men.

I have always loved Boy George and yes some of us wore those 80s colors then-yellows and orange bronze were my favorites with a little red in there. I never knew I'd get old and miss my old makeup colors, LOL. The model is so cute, but I wish BG would handle his face more gently. He's a little rough as he adjusts his chin... BG is so beautiful in his own way! Love him.
Boy George did an amazing job of making up that young man. The truth of the matter is is that George has so much natural beauty (and fabulous cheek bones), that he is beautiful and handsome at the same time. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Back in the 90s my bedroom wall wall papered with pictures of him. I used to cry because I felt like he was prettier than me...I was 13 and 14. My mother was always working so I learned how to do makeup and learned that it was ok to be me (not preppy and conformist like all the other girls in school) ok to be my own person from boy George ..so in a strange sort of way he IS my mother. Really though, he was and is still the biggest influence in my life.
