I'm amazed how well Triumph has evolved over the past few years. The design and build quality are on a par with Honda BMW and the like. So pleased for them.
I just hope there will be 3 things added to the next update. 1. Full LED headlight 2. Up and down quickshifter 3. Cruise control (at least as an option)
Take my money and hand it over already!!! Spectacular job done with the motorcycle... Thank you to the entrie crew at Triumph for making this happen! It's a motorcycle that speaks classic, but I am sure once astride it is going to spit venom!!!
How hard can it be to add the Cruise Control button as you have on the T120 and the Bobber, I didn't bought this a couple of years ago because of this, looks like you still hadn't heard my prayers.. it would be a definitive buy for me if you only added cruise control.
It's outrageous, I can not believe how stupid triumph are for not putting cruise control on this bike. Oh well no money from me Triumph, you failed your customers again 🤦🏼
oh my god i am waiting for this time till now from when speed twin discontinued... finally that back...best Bonneville in that series..there have lot of fans for this bike
Looks fantastic. Would have loved to see the colour options featured in the video. A pity the silver option is no longer available - that was my favourite.
I've got the previous model and i'm a bit disappointed really. The tank, the matte colours of the clamps for the new USD forks, the plastic end-caps on the slip-ons... It will be better handling from the factory for sure, But you're giving in to the "premium style" in my opinion. I'd opt for getting the previous model for a nice price and use the spare money to upgrade that bike's suspension to fully adjustable suspension at your preference. BTW: The 500 extra RPM was already available on the previous model, but is restricted by software. A tricky way to market a better version.
I had the previous model and while I do agree when it comes to some aesthetics, which is subjective, I find it strange to opt for something when you haven’t experienced the update.
For someone looking into getting a Speed Twin I’d say go test drive both of them and keep in mind, while the previous version was and is a really nice package this updated version is dealing with some of the addressed concerns, which wasn’t necessarily problems, made by customers such as suspension, brakes and tires. That is now updated. Also, it’s not only “500 extra rpm” and you will not get the same engine with a software update to the old model. This was already said in the video but there is a new crank, new pistons with revised ports and cam profile resulting in an engine that picks up speed even faster, and it was already a free revving engine to begin with so that is exciting. Aside from the added 500 rpm at the top, peak torque comes in 500 rpm lower with a stronger midrange all the way up to the top where you also got more power. What of it is marketing trickery? I will test it as soon as possible as I’m curious to find out how it feels compared to the “old” one!
@@christianandersson2106 I agree on the engine stuff. I still find the 500 rpm a trick since it's already available in the older version but was capped by software. That's not done for a precaution. It's the same engine as the Thruxton and that one had the 500 rpm since the first model. I've also gotten another map on my Speed which might be more rich in fuel consumption by just a bit, but I'm getting the same kind of figures now as in the newer model. Do you suggest that this new version might have better handling than the previous with fully adjustable Nitron suspension front and back? I seriously doubt that.
First test rides will see if they cured the heat problem & snatch throttle. Cruise control, heated grip, TPS & adjustable suspension would have been a nice upgrade.
Great update for 2021. The Triumph (Design, Tech and Marketing) team could teach these "Presenters" a thing or two when it comes to presentation style and delivery haha. Perhaps Triumph can save some $$$ and just use their senior team to deliver these updates in the future :D
Hm - I expected a lesser update - Suspension and brakes update sounds good. I do like the new colours less than the prior version, plus there is a price increase. Alltogether a decent update in my view.
I rode that bike and found its caracter and handling simply amazing! But that huge headlight and that panel that looks more like a pair of tambourines... in addition to the painted exhaust, instead of brushed steel, it was what put me off...
I bought a 2019 Speed Twin Classic™ new. How stupid could I have been? This one FINALLY has race tires, cheap-ass usd forks, a smog pump, weighs as much as a Thruxton R, gets worse mileage, AND has 3 cats for 3bhp MO POWAH BABY! I don't think I can bear the shame of riding my cat-deleted Shorty-muffed tuned Thuxton R wheels having old pile of Speed Twin Classic™ crap anymore. I do like the wheels on this one. Brakes look the business too. Thank goodness the Buck Rogers covers are black.
What is this !!! No cruise control in 2021 !! Every other Bonneville has it Triumph and you failed to finally put it on the speed twin model update 🤦🏼. Seriously what is happening in triumph these days eeegh.
Bah. Not selling the Thruxton R just yet then, despite my aging body. Want just a little more from the suspension. Getting closer though, just wish the local dealer had one and let me take it for a decent ride.
My dream bike, and the matt storm grey would be the color to pick.. just disapointed with the "ehanced tecnology" pointing the led light as it is already present since 2019 and shouldn't be mentionned as an argument of sale... That put aside, I dream to buy it since 3 years now and dream more and more !
Nice performance upgrades but disappointingly you got rid of the Storm Silver/Grey option and went with that disgusting matte grey/yellow 🤮 I’d actually paid a deposit on one but am seeing my dealer tomorrow and will potentially cancel my order.
Two puzzling omissions from the accessories list: no windscreen and no cruise control, as on the Speed Triple. The aftermarket will solve the former, but I’d prefer a factory cruise like the one on my Scrambler 1200xc.
back end styled with a Banana Seat, a hacksaw, half a Cornflakes Box sprayed silver with a red fairy light ......... perfection. Bench Seats were in Ford Zodiacs and Jags you eejiets.
I confused the speedometer top speed marked 140or220 In Google I search cluster photos of speed twin some photos show 220marking and other some shows 140marking which is correct
I much prefer the previous colour/graphics. Disappointing....Same with the new scrambler 1200's, the design team have dropped the ball on tank artwork. My 2019 xc design is awesome.
I wish they put the t plane 900 triple from the tiger and devloped this bike as its own model. Cuz the amount of Bonnevilles are too much and they are getting to a point where a different model doesn't make much sense. The T plane triple has that low end bark and is smooth too.
I was really looking forward to this launch. I love the sound of this motor, the overall style and ergonomics, and the USD front fork is an improvement. Unfortunately, I would have to upgrade way too much after purchasing this bike. The rear shocks would need immediate replacement. I would need to add heated grips and exhaust. It is really unfortunate that no cruise control or quick shifter is available for the bike. This new version has me wanting to wait for the new BMW R1250R. Although I don't care for the boxer sound as much as the Speed Twin's, the BMW comes with everything one could desire. A quick shifter, shift cam technology for more useable torque, higher quality and Dynamic active suspension, heated grips, cruise control. I know the BMW is a bit more expensive, but the Triumph would be a lot closer in price after the needed upgrades yet still lacking IMO.
Oh boy.. non adjustable budget Marzocchi USD forks and preload adjustable only rear shocks. I'll keep my Bonneville T120s and Thruxton R. BTW, the Yamaha XSR900 produces 115HP out of a smaller displacement triple, has adjustable USD front forks, and costs $3,000 less! Come on, Triumph! 😤
Why do these motorcycles cost so much more than a car? It is a bit incoherent, a car has thousands and thousands of parts much more than any motorcycle.
Cosmetically, this seems a downgrade. The new tank colours and graphics are flat-out cheap looking compared to the metallic silver and hand-painted coach lines of the old tanks. The Marzocchi is nothing special, especially given the old forks were actually decent. The exhaust is a slight improvement, but the plastic end-caps look cheap as hell - couldn't find something else? The +500 RPM is purely software - grab a Power Commander or ECU tune and the original block will handle +500 (or more) RPM very safely. The EURO5 will make this version hell to mod (if possible at all), so what you buy is effectively what you get. I don't think this is much of an upgrade, really - some parts are unquestionably better, but better enough? No.
Those wheels look pretty fragile. I think that was the only bad move from previous gen. Original Speed Twin wheels were beautiful and light. Headlight could have used a fresh look. Great job Triumph for listening to us beg in the comments for years requesting this bike!
It's a great looking bike ...... But the fuel cap is monza style lift the cap and its from the 80's who puts a key in and unwind's the cap now day's ... and a fuel range of 100 Mile's ish and your looking for fuel with a 14lt tank. Look at it's competition R9T 160 miles Z900RS 170 miles ...... You missed the goal again
I'm amazed how well Triumph has evolved over the past few years. The design and build quality are on a par with Honda BMW and the like. So pleased for them.
Just ditch thee ugly seem under the tank, and she'll be perfection!
Well done Triumph, Beautiful bike.
It's my dream classic bike..!
Best bike of it's kind...!
its*
Love Triumph, cant wait to get one
Et avec le sous titrage en Français, excellent !!!! Merci Triumph !!!
Very impressive , my Harley is now too heavy now I'm an old fart , so I'll be looking into this bike , beautiful design and fit and finish .
I sold my Harley today (owned 16 years since new) for this bike after a test ride. The weight difference between the two is a whole person 😲
👏👏👏👏👏 Looking forward to seeing it riding in Brazil! 🇧🇷
Now make an R or RS version with the Thruxton's suspension and take my damn money!
I just hope there will be 3 things added to the next update.
1. Full LED headlight
2. Up and down quickshifter
3. Cruise control (at least as an option)
The young lady from Spratton has done very well for herself. Great presentation
Looks great, and the updates were needed, brakes, forks, engine etc. But the tank logo looks terrible. Put the old tank on and it would be perfect
Fortunately, it is a bike that offers extensive customization possibilities.
I agree the tank logo is terrible. Thats whats holding me back.
Lots of love from India...
Keep bringing bikes to India..
Best of triumph

Yeah, the silver is the prettiest. Saw one finally in person. Best color.
Hopefully this time it's little bigger in size🙄.. Please launch the Thunderbird LT as well 🙏😇
The best bike ever for me. Also my biggest dream🤩😌.
Wish come True.
well done guys. looks amazing
This is the bike I had just booked before it got discontinued back in 2019. I hope it comes to India and will be affordable for me.
The best looking bike in market now.

@Official Triumph Motorcycles - Currently Speed Twin discontinued in India, is it going to relaunch?
I want this to be a part of me for the rest of my life...!!!!
Will the front brakes squeal and have no manufacturer fix for it like the previous model?
まぁ大きくスペック変更はないけど、ブレーキが変わったからブレーキ鳴きがちゃんと修正されてるね。
思った通り倒立だし。
クルーズやら他の電装はないのね。
スラクストンRSベースといったところかな。

Mine did, bit of copper grease on the back of the brake pad solved the problem.
What's her performance on off-road?
you need to give existing speed twin owners a free shock absorber upgrade package!!
I'm happy with mine. These forks are breaking the retro style with that matte clamp finish.
Around $15k OTD...I dont think so .
