Mirage is an underrated gem. Fun classic AC1 gameplay. I turned audio language to Persian to get the authentic feel. Also It's awesome that you will get to play AC Shadows on release.
I absolutely love Mirage. It brought a whole new, much greater, appreciation for Arabic culture, Islam, and enhanced what I already knew about that. I cannot recommend this game enough, even if you've never played a single Assassin's Creed ever. Play Mirage. You will not be disappointed.
@@LiannaBabeli I like the game. They did a good job in representing Baghdad and the Abbasid Caliphate. They did well on the history and art and architecture. And the Arabic localization is great. unfortunately, they dropped the ball on some codex entries whenever it came to discussing the religion of Islam and Islamic Law, presenting incomplete information, misinterpretations and sometimes straight up misinformation. Probably honest mistakes due to them doing their research only from western books and not going back to original Arabic Islamic sources (Western Academia mistrust a lot of the Arabic sources and misinterpret many of it, sometimes unintentionally, due to lack of knowledge of Classical Arabic language, and sometimes intentionally, with a slant of orientalism and Islamophobia. and then they come up with their own theories of how Islamic beliefs and laws work, ignoring the oceans of knowledge in the classical Arabic sources).
They absolutely nailed the depiction of Abbasid Baghdad. It was called the “Navel of the World” due both to its shape (it’s basically a giant ring) and its richness in culture, the arts, science, mathematics and innovation. Excited for you to play!
Fun fact about Mirage: Members of the developers' team took an entire graduate-level course on middle-eastern medieval art and architecture history and archaeology taught by the subject matter expert who was hired as a consultant for the game. She herself was interviewed on a history podcast that I listen to (I believe it's The History Respawned Podcast, which looks at the intersection of history and gaming). The consultant (Dr Glaire Anderson) says that she herself plays the game, enjoys it, and loves the codex and often incorporates it into her undergraduate lectures. This game is amazing and it feels like both a game and a documentary about an oft ignored part of the medieval world, which centers Europe way too often. Enjoy Mirage!
Man this was the savior of my 2023 I took a three week vacation to play this and immerse my self in it. It felt like the old AC games. Regardless of what gripes others may have with the story. I love this game so much.
This game is so good. The way it ties to Valhalla is so satisfying and beautifully poetic. While the OG games captured my heart, Valhalla’s and Mirage’s intertwining stories are one of my favourite parts of the whole franchise.
Ive been working and doing caricatures at home for work and just listening to a stream of Indiana Jones.. and now i found you! Lets go! Dazzle me while i work, superstar!!
Just not to be confused again 1: Khalifa or caliph in English means like emperor 2: Khilafat or Caliphate means empire By the way ,I like how you love and praise other cultures & hopefully you can make it to Egypt 1 day, my homeland.
Khalifa/Caliph never meant emperor. It was just seen that way by other countries outside of the Muslim world. It means a steward, vicegerent, or successor. In this context it means the latter as they are the political successor of the prophet (Pbuh) in ruling the Muslim lands. Abu Bakr as-Siddiq and Umar ibn al-Khattab never saw themselves as "emperors".
I was watching along with your AC journey originally, but now you're way ahead of what I have played so I have to play a load to be able to watch a backlog of your playthroughs. A strange form of motivation to play!
Lessgoo, finally at Mirage, its top 5 ACs for me for sure. I really love Basim and his story. I also love they brought back the memory discs from Revelations instead of always using the apple of Eden.
Loved playing as Basim so can’t wait to watch this video! Great music, great story. I prefer the RPGs a bit more but I found this one fun and challenging at times.
As a resident in baghdad I was blown away by the accuracy of their depection of baghdad and the atmosphere, and I appreciate alot their respect for the culture and the subject matter. I especially was in love with their game encyclopaedia you can tell the team as done their research. I loved listening to the npcs in this game because of how accurate their are their are jews their are nastorians muslim, tension between Persian arabs and turks and somtimes they will discuss topics that were very realivent to the era. My only problem with the game that they could have used this setting much effectively and the time they depected had very interesting topics that would have fit right in with assassin creed game, stuff like the underground shia socity and the struggle between the chalip and the shia imam, mutazilasm a sect that lost influence and the struggle between salefist and the rationalists mutazilasm school, or talk about the khawarig, feel like their is alot of wasted potential that the setting has to offer. Another thing I would have loved if they added was none action activities that emerse you more like doing poetry, doing chemistry, or playing music. They show it in the game but it would have been fun if the player can have more of an active role in it. Small stuff like that would have gone along way. And I feel like If the team was given enough time they would have done much more engaging game.
Wow , that's a lot lol , not trynna flex but took me around 14 hours for a 100% with all open world activities on my second play through , 22 hours on my first. Soaking in all the details huh ?
I"m sorry Valhalla was too long to play through, it IS too long, but it's one of of my 2 favorites along with Unity. I'm glad you didn't hate it as as so many do. On to Mirage and eventually shadows :)
I Love seeing Chick Gamers an Honestly I Haven’t Played Any Other Assassin Creed Games Since Assassin Creed Origins Which Is My Favorite One But I Like Watching others Playing Assassin Creed Games It Makes Me Thinking About Coming Back Exploring New Worlds New Ancient Cultures But I Heart Will Always Medjay Great Content Great Gameplays Love it keep it Coming Now We All Waiting On Assassin Creed Shadows is Coming

Maybe I missed something but why did you set it to Persian when it's in Baghdad?

That’s my afternoon sorted watching part 1 of your Mirage play through ☺️ I hope you enjoy the full game, I loved it ✨

I really liked Mirage and i had a lot of fun 100%. I was so pumped for this game because of its 9th century Abbasid Baghdad setting.
Just not to be confused again

Will you watch the Valhalla x Odyssey Dlc after that?

I really really love AC mirage, platinumed it once, and still playing it now just to walk around Baghdad
Lessgoo, finally at Mirage, its top 5 ACs for me for sure. I really love Basim and his story. I also love they brought back the memory discs from Revelations instead of always using the apple of Eden.
I've beaten Mirage 3 times (standard, NG+ and PD) and i only just noticed that Basim's DNA in the intro is a triple helix because he's part Isu
Loved playing as Basim so can’t wait to watch this video! Great music, great story. I prefer the RPGs a bit more but I found this one fun and challenging at times.

Basim is Someone who smiles, and gives joy.
Nehal is knowledge seeker (perfectly put, no?!)
Also am a Bagh-daddi!
Finally! I've waited for this
I platinumed this game. Just under 50 hours longz honestly, a perfect amount of time.
Mirage is to me the 2nd most assassin assassin’s creed game so far. The first one being unity.
I really like Mirage, took me about 60 hours to 100%.
Wow , that's a lot lol , not trynna flex but took me around 14 hours for a 100% with all open world activities on my second play through , 22 hours on my first. Soaking in all the details huh ?
@@Bergil_007 Yeah, I like RP walking and riding everywhere and trying to see everything.
Never saw that intro before, it also made me teary eyed Meg. 🥺
Meg, you should listen to Roshan's theme from the soundrrack, "daughter of no one" prepare for the emotions though :)
Excited
Mirage's music is so good!
I like mirage it's fun and it has one of the best ezios family versions
I"m sorry Valhalla was too long to play through, it IS too long, but it's one of of my 2 favorites along with Unity. I'm glad you didn't hate it as as so many do. On to Mirage and eventually shadows :)
