Doesn't Tetsuko not work at all if the commander is out? Anowon gives your Rogues +1/+1, so the only creatures that would be able to benefit from Tetsuko are 0 power or 0 toughness. I feel like there's better stuff to put into the deck slot Minion's Murmurs seems real nice, a real hidden gem I pulled Zareth San in my collector's boosters so I decided to stick it into the deck before seeing this video xD One card I didn't see get any mention was Command the Dreadhorde, it's a solid card and you can choose how much you want to pay for.
A card i first put in my Varolz deck then into my totally illegal Dune-Brood Nephilim deck is "Dauthi Embrace". Its an enchantment that you can activate for black black to give target creature shadow, so you can use it to get your creature(s) through. Or on someone else's attack phase to get someone's creature through on an opponent if it works in your favor.
I wouldn't take out the token generators except ratman. Also feel like Tetsuko is gonna be a dead draw more often then not. Really like most of the other choices. Kinda surprised there's no Arcane Adaptation like effects in the upgrade either. Good video guys and keep up the good work.

Hes perfect for this deck. Shadow makes him practically unlockable, and since your milling into exile that means your not feeding grave manipulation opponents graveyards. And if you just happen to mill a game ending card, Sacrafice voidwalker for it.
Just one question, why remove Latchkey Faerie if you are going to use a spot on Blade Juggler? The Prowl cost is the same of Spectacle, both draws card, and at least the faerie is flying/evasion sinergy! Just wondering 🤔
When this was new you could take it and 50$ and turn it into a sick Yuriko deck. you didn't have too many extra turn spells, but yuriko was 8$, spark double was 4$ fallen shinobi 3$ and the common uncommon package of 5-6B ninjas (infiltator, moonblade, mist-syndicate ect) for less than 5$
Thanks John! The theme for Rogues in this set and commander product is to take advantage off of incidental mill, rather than going all-in and winning with it, and we wanted to stay true to that
Nitpicking Nerds I just played the deck tonight, subbing in the cards I already owned from your list, and it was fantastic. The milling was ok, but it was fun being able to have many different strategies to win.
some great suggestion, thanks a lot ! I'm thinking about going more into mill and reanimating my opponents creatures with mine. My meta is fairly casual and creature heavy so hopefully it works. Will see how it turns out, but I'm thinking of adding the new Maddening Cacophony in there to mill every opponent for 8 for 2CMC or kick it for an extra 4 to mill everyone for half their deck rounded up. I don't think I will go for mill wins, but I dream of playing either diluvian primordial or sepulchral primordial just after. Perhaps not an optimal build, but poor (I mean casual) player plays for fun, not to win xD
I was really hoping Zendikar would have a good mono black vampire tribal commander, however it seems Anowon saw “mission impossible” too many times and went rogue. Well at least I get to put a third Drana in my Drana deck. Also great video as always

Now with the new pairing of commanders based off of booster sets, there's new opportunity a video. Booster set upgrades for commander deck. This deck wants a lot of the new stuff.
If I end up getting this deck, I think I'll keep it as is for new players to try when I introduce them to the game. Also, I kinda like playing in a precon environment sometimes. Then I'll buy a whole other copy of this deck to take apart for the sol ring and Arcane Signet and other cool little things probs lol
My playgroup had a powered-down meta of decks built from only a single booster box going for a while, and it was a blast to play in a more or less level playing field of jank commons and uncommons. totally get what you mean

I for one def suggest some stuff like Thada Adel, Nighthawk Scavanger, and maybe some better lands and rocks like Talisman of Dominance, Path of Ancestry, and Tainted Isle.
How do you guys feel about Archetype of Imagination? Expensive, fragile, and not a Rogue, but I can't find many other way to give almost guaranteed (damn you Reach) evasion to all your Rogues at once. Maybe Cover of Darkness?
Hello guys thx for a great par of videos on the new commander decks. Just wondering if you could help me as a new commander(/and relatively lowtier) player a bit more. The budget choices are a great thing, but would love it even more if you guys adressen what focus to(/you) have(/had)on other cards to see if they fit. Maybe visualising it by some kind of diagram or just textboxes containing the "right" keywords and how many of each in the deck. These things would help SOO much for me to gain a grip on the synergies I'm looking for. I would also love example on "even better" upgrades, I mean there is probably many ppl out there that has been opening a few boosters and played some drafts and sit on a few odd gild nuggets that would suit a deck like this perfect... ...maybe a line like "if you cant get your hand on the more expensive...this is a good alternativ" much like you did with reanimate... Just my thoughts...thx again! Best regards
Ima little conflicted about these new precons tbh. I think the original precons are already new player friendly which is how WotC is marketing these. On the other hand I like how these seem to be a lot more focused than the normal precons. I hope to see these continue but maybe brought the power level a bit higher even if it's just the mana base.
Yeah the power level of these two precons is pretty low, which is especially noticeable on the commanders. I do like that there is only one commander for each and you don't have to deal with cutting all the cards that were just designed for the two commanders you aren't going to be using
these are also only 20 bucks (for now), and I'm a huge fan of reprinting cards to keep prices down. admonition angel, omnath, sygg, oona, notorious throng, sol ring, arcane signet, and a few others. Plus two niche commanders! Great product, hope they don't screw it up.
It's probably going to be middle of the road, Dimir commanders don't have a history of being very good 😂 it seems like a fairer version of Yuriko, so maybe players who don't enjoy that level of power will gravitate towards Anowon! Plus he has tribal synergy and a mill subtheme so a lot going on that people might want to build around
I played this Deck dozens of times and i can tell you: tetsuko is the worst addition you can do^^ your commander is almost always out and you want to protect him. also as you yourself said: almost every rogue we add is unblockable. or has flying. tetsukos effect triggers exactly 0 times in real games.
I need like a list of stuff taken out or something. Its not all in the same part of the video, also I def dont think enough was taken out for how much was put in.
I gotta say this is the first commander deck in a looong time that didn’t have anything interested to me. I’ve wanted a rogue deck too but this one just doesn’t do it for me. I wish it was grixis at least. On the other hand, I can’t wait for the Obuun video. I’m SUPER excited for that deck. I was noticing him getting a lot of “meh” reactions form people as it was pretty “basic”. But for me when I read his text I had literally an overload of ideas lol, a lot of different directions and cool stuff you can take him so I’m really excited for your guys take on him. Yeah this deck didn't seem too special to us either, but that's okay. Not everything can be designed for us 85% players. It's good to have some casual stuff floating around too. I think our Obuun video ended up prettttty spicy though

Honestly, I hate they went with a mill theme. I have a tribal rogue edh deck that I've had long before zendikar rising was announced. It's basically using special equipment and unlockable rogues to direct connect for awesome things. I have my commander as lazav but I will be switching it to anowon just for the tribal +1/+1.

How about Distant Melody, or Into the Story for inexpensive large card draw options?
