I feel like Teferi’s ageless insight is really strong in this deck. The card draw from Anowan is so situational so it helps you out by drawing 2 instead of 1
I confused that with Teferi's Puzzle Box since if you get that to pair with the Notion Thief already in the deck you get massive salt when you play them. Teferi's Ageless Insight would help nicely in that play as well.
I used Anowon in a completely different way and I feel it's a lot stronger than attempting to Mill your opponents deck. I filled the deck with all the best Rogue's and every Rogue that is able to steal things more specifically. I've also built it to steal things outta my opponents graveyards it's definitely not a budget deck because all the best Rogue's are very expensive. I also run the combo Bloodchief Ascension/ Mindcrank. I also run Duskmantle Guildmage as a secondary Bloodchief effect. The whole deck is based around gaining value off your decks and drawing as many cards as possible to find our wincon or stealing your wincon. Then I run a new card called Reflections of Littjara. It works with non creature Rogue spells too which is pretty sweet cuz there are a couple tribal "Rogue" sorceries that will trigger the enchantment
So I feel like keeper of keys is this decks trap card. Cuz think about it like this. your game plan is to be attacking and attacking. So you won't have creatures to block with. As a result someone will take the crown and now you've just given your opponents card advantage
Yes these were my thoughts exactly. You’re also attracting a lot of attention to yourself when you play this, since this only triggers during your upkeep. If they get the monarch from you, you won’t get the trigger at all.
Deepchannel Mentor is a much better choice. While Monarch effects are good the only card worth playing in this deck is Court of Cunning and potentially Court of Ambition. I stripped off reanimation off this deck and decided to make it full aggro mill.
I put Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire and Opposition Aggent, which are both Rogues", in the deck so I can search my opponents decks for their best card's then make them mill those cards when I hit them lol then I'll probably get to use that card from your graveyard later in the game lol its so much fun. Even if you don't put Opposition Aggent in the deck then you should definitely put Varragoth in their because it's a Rogue and it's less than a dollar
Prowl wants creatures to enter after combat, while Stoneforge Masterwork wants them to enter before to take avantage of the power. Small anti-synergy there but still a good addition maybe. Great video tho!
Really good addition to this Deck, i decided to play more the mill strategy. For me it was really hard to build this Deck, because there are so many good Cards which fit good in the deck. First i thought a rouge-jitsu would very strong but you need many rouges in the deck and ninjas doesnt synergize well except with the unblockable creatures but then you cant trigger anowon. So at least i built it as a mill deck, cards like sphinx's tutelage, teferis tutelage, Mirko Vosk, mindcrank and so on are really powerful. And of you have the money then sword of feast and famine are also insane strong. And you can also play player removal cards where you can mill opponets out in one turn. I decided to go this way, because only with the rouges, you are unable to deal with strong cards of your opponets and you have to mill them out very fast and fill their graveyards to abuse them.
Stoneforge masterwork doesn't actually work that way, you only get +1/+1 even if it shares multiple types "The bonus is only +1/+1 per applicable creature, even if it shares more than one creature type with the equipped creature. For example, if the equipped creature is a Human Shaman and you control a Human Warrior, a Goblin Shaman, and another Human Shaman, the equipped creature will get +3/+3."
I feel like Teferi’s Tutelage would be pretty good in the reanimate/mill part of the deck, especially if you have a bunch of unblockables with Anowon in play.
Probably a good move, but I loooove stolen identity. Kinda fun to cast it and copy a gilded lotus twice. Kind of a waste of a card but if you recoup all the Mana. If you untap with it it's really cool to copy more stuff and and not feel bad for paying 6
My friends love searching there library. I decided to put in Ashiok Dream Render. The static you get from her is amazing for stopping that. Her ability may go against my mill since it exiles the graveyard but that’s saved me before since my buddies also love playing cards from their graveyard. 🤣 I also got Ashiok Sculptor of Fears. I just like Ashiok...
I added Zareth San (because he has Ninjutsu, though it's not called out as such) and Ashiok, Nightmare Muse (because they disrupt my opponent, though they exile instead of mill), I'm contemplating adding Mirko Vosk and Phenax
more rouges it needs more rouges. also if you have some of the tribal tools from that one tribal commander year put them in. A few win cons might be nice also. Rivers rebuke is also a good board wipe/ win con especially on a budget. The two blue and two enchantment with cycling is also made good because it says when ever you deal combat damage with a creature draw a card. Bident of thassa is also really good.
Pneumonic Betrayal is about the same cost as Spelltwine and is a better card overall. Trepanation Blade and Whispering Madness are also very good in this deck.
@Command Valley hey how can anowon draw you 3 cards in a turn? The last i checked you can only attack once per turn, so 1 milling process and 1 card draw, if a creatue is milled. Did i miss something?
Great question! Anowon triggers off of opponent attacked, so with at least 3 rogues and 3 opponents, hitting all of them will trigger Anowon for each of them, and then for each player that mills a creature, you get to draw a card.
I can’t wait for the Obuun deck tech. Not every deck is meant to interest all of us, but this one was a huge miss for me personally. Sweet deck tech though. On the other hand I’m REALLY excited for Obuun. I know everyone is saying it’s a bit of a basic commander and yadda yadda but I already see tons of different ways to build him and I’m really stoked to build it. Side note: I really hope the Obuun deck tech isn’t necessarily a budget build. I don’t mind hearing budget builds because people need them obviously. But whenever I see a budget build I always wish they’d do both in one video. Start with the budget stuff and then show the better upgrades if not on a budget
Imo cut the reanimation stuff (or at least replace it with better cards) and go full rogue tribal/mill. That includes agent of treachery + stolen identity ciphered on an unblockable creature >:)

That and a lot of your creatures in the deck are unblockable anyways, so it's not as big of an effect.

I love Thassa's bident in this deck too. You can swing with a bunch or rogues and draw a bunch of cards

Yeah, I understand the whole anowan mill=draw thing, but if this deck was tweaked a little it could be a full on mill/rogue tribal.
