Thanks for playing my level (Uncharted). It made me very happy. My reply to "How am I supposed to react to this?": I believe that's just the downside of sacrificing easiness and sight readability for coolness (It feels very good to play for me when you know what's coming).
Thanks for making the level! It was really cool, I just wasn't expecting the camera to shift way over to different sides (I didn't even know mappers could do that) 😂. I'm looking forward to seeing any future levels you make!
yeah sorry abt those inverses in CORE, XD. I thought it would make the level slightly more interesting then just a ton of blocks and holds. and the many swirls with the holds were kinda just a happy mistake that i couldnt figure out how to solve lol...
The way I was like "HOLY SHIT IS, RABBIT HOLE? DECO*27 MENTIONED?" when you scrolled past it 😭 Anyways, this is hella cool and fun to watch. I love rhythm games so so much.
Looking at this rq. Looks like (idk what the words would be so ima make them up) a “tap” note for the squares, that you bump with the shield. Then those i shaped ones look like swipe notes. Negative notes hitting the backside but still bumping them. Sustains actually look the same to many others just with the sliding added on. This looks really cool. Like up there with ADOIAF for “how did they make this a rhythm game and why does it work so well?”
Yeah, so there's basically 4 types of notes to hit Normal notes: Just catch them with the paddle Slides: Follow the trail Sides: Hit with the side of your paddle (basically like a flick note) Inverse notes: catch with the back of your paddle And then you can modify each note to require a tap on it, or just create basically a ring that closes in and you tap on time for it And then there's bombs, both normal and slides. Just don't touch em
@@pikator9153 ooooh, I think that same dev did one called DUSK before Uktrakill, maybe it was from that? I don't know about any of their other projects
this game is sick, but I also struggle with the side-notes... in fact I don't think I'll be playing it again because of them, the judgment feels so arbitrary, there's no real feedback for them and as opposed to the nice "hit with the front of your paddle" there's a longer stretch of time wherein you can hit them, and at times it feels like instead of playing a rhythm game I'm having to decipher the map like a puzzle platformer instead of a rhythm game... Anyways your content is really good and I'll be sticking around for sure!
I'm mapping a level right now and I'm only really using them to visualize another instrument in the song that you'll hit the inverts anyways if you're playing the map correctly.
Hey, I was just trying to make a new level named 'Knock Knock'. And I was just wondering, how do you download mods? I tried to, but I can't understand how.
I'm assuming you mean custom levels? In the BeatBlock discord, people are posting their levels. You just have to unzip the folder you downloaded of the level in put it in the custom levels directory. If you need further help, someone in the discord might be able to help. I'm not home for a little while
Unzip the folders and drag them into the custom levels folder. There's a video pinned in #beattalk in the discord server about downloading and playing custom levels

Best one of the three
It's called The Enigma of Heaven because you're going to be praying to God by the end of it because of those side notes.
😂 damn side notes!!

Oh you're the mapper? It's was great! I like the inverses, especially now. I was just kind of learning how to work with them at the time of the video.
the slow smile across my face when i saw "hakita" was priceless.
HAKITAAAAAA
Hakita goated
I think your commentary is great! I’m not good at rhythm games myself so it nice to have someone who i can relate to. Keep up the good work!
😂 Thank you!!
This custom map seems to be very well made in the way that the beats get you in position for the next one so it's very user-friendly.
That's how they should be. I played one where you flick into a side note and catch onto 3 slides going really fast speed.
I think you could try just shapes and beats! It's really fun, and the post story content is awesome.
I have it and played it a bit! I never beat it though and it's been a long time. Maybe I should go back to it

This game reminds me of the shield minigame from the Swords and Souls flash game
3:37 hakita? The ultrakill dev? Huh
Oh is this a song from Ultrakill? I never played all the way through the game so I'm unsure.
@@LunauticalDev i don’t think so since i don’t recognize it but i wouldn’t be surprised it’s a work he did before ultrakill because he is a composer

Thank you! Yeah, the side notes just feel really hard to hit well, but I'm slowly getting used to it.
The First one Core is amazing
Such a fun one!
we mostly dont use inverts since they disrupt the flow and are hard to read, good for hard tech maps, bad for themed flow maps
I'm mapping a level right now and I'm only really using them to visualize another instrument in the song that you'll hit the inverts anyways if you're playing the map correctly.
