I kind of wish there was out of frame. Just here this "SSSSSSSHHHHHHH" Being it is a library. Got to remain quiet, lol. BUT! still, funny no less and no matter how many years it will be. It will be funny.
That world is filled with aether and just about everything is completely infused with it. Thus it would be easy for her to to see people, creatures, even words on paper as it's all make with aether rich things/is aether based life.
@@NYCZ31 Well, we never got told how fast it drains her life force. So until we get some kind of sense of how much aether it takes to use versus how much she has normally then we can't really point and say they forgot. Also, we are talking about the people that have been able to make connections in the lore dating back to even the start of the game before the relaunch. I'm not sure they forget much of anything they've mentioned or put in the game.
Wait, how can she read at all? If she sees the ambient aether of things, and not necessarily the thing itself, how is it possible to make out words on a page? Maybe the aetheric alignment of the ink is just that different to the page, in much the same way she could sense ur light back in norvrandt? Would it be possible to make a book unreadable to only her by infusing it with otherwise imperceptible amounts of aetherically aligned aether?
Adding extra iron to ink is a thing to improve aetheric conductivity, and it wouldn't surprise me if the standard ink used for writing in Eorzea contains at least some amounts of conductive metals, so if she can't simply see its affect on ambient aether outright it would probably be enough for her to channel a tiny amount of aether across a page. It would make sense that you could make a book that's completely unreadable to her though, or at least to where she would have to use magic to read or even determine whether there is any text at all on the pages.
I think the intense concentration required to transcribe the books imparts enough aether for her to read them. Otherwise, she likely has cantrip to quickly enchant the ink. Another possibility is that since objects can have varying degrees of aetheric conductivity, she could simply flow some amount of aether into the book and make out the text because the ink is a different material, and therefore would brighten more or less than the paper.
It's said in post-HW that she can't see normally by default anymore but that she can still do it by burning through her own aether a bit. This is why, when she can, she asks that others around her describe how things look physically, but if it comes to it, she can see for herself, at a cost to her health.
I love these scene, mostly because I've had a sex dreamsince I was a kid about a hot librarian who cutely falls asleep on a pile of books, but also because it's endearing
plot twist: she doesn't see the glamour and only sees the horribly mismatched mess the glamour hides

The fact that G'Raha is just sitting there, blank faced, like WoL isn't dressed like that just makes the surprise all that much more funny.
He is sitting there like "Look ma, I caught a chicken!"
“You get used to the outfits”
It was his idea
You'd be startled too if you woke up and the first thing you saw was an aether lit chicken head staring at you.
"Waiwaiwaiwaiwait, wait G'raha... G'raha, don't wake her up, this will be -hilarious-."
Not the time for frivolity, my friend. Not the time.
G'raha powersquatting in the back makes for the perfect backdrop to the chicken in front.
G'raha is cheeki breeki slav confirmed?
it looked like his heels are raised so he's probably western spy.

Froth and foam!
The touching music cutting so abruptly just makes this infinitely better

I was expecting hrothgar in Y'shtola glam
Same here lmao.
That, or the tonberry outfit.
I expected the twist to be that the WoL was a complete copy of Y'shtola. This was just as good.
Was not expecting lalachicken. That blank expression on the chicken is priceless
