    Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well :]
    In this vlog, watch me make a TON of new products. You can also see how I make make specific products like bookmarks and prints at home. I really enjoy making prints! I also try out making memo pads myself, and while it was fun, it was expensive! Haha, maybe I'll have to do a simple design if I ever make them again, to use less ink.
    I also make handmade clay pins for the first time ever! And holy cow was it fun. I loved everything about it, from sculpting them, to painting, and the resin part was so satisfying! Let me know if you've ever tried making clay pins!
    I hope you enjoy the video and cya next time :]

    I love your illustrations!! 😍😍 I have an EcoTank from Epson and it is really cost effective for me!! I printed a lot with it and I just changed only the black ink after 3 and half years!! I am blown away by that and with printing and scanning quality (and I have one of the cheaper ones from them). So I totally recommend you using one of this kind ☺️

      Thank you for that info! I've been really curious if the eco-tank printers are really that much better. I go through so many ink cartridges at the moment haha. I've been looking into them recently and might just have to get one!

    • @brittanysalzone
      @brittanysalzone  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! I did look into pricing for just getting the pages printed from an online manufacturer, but it was just as expensive as getting them fully made by a manufacture that does things like memo pads, stickers, prints, etc. I checked several manufactures, if there is one that offers cheaper prices, then I must have missed them :/ But! I have not looked into a local print shop. I'd be curious to know if getting just the pages printed locally would be cheaper. Definitely something to look into!

    I've had an ecotank(ET-8550) for like 6 months now and the printing is very economical. I've only just now had to buy replacement ink for some of the colors(I print a lot, but I've only used a quarter of a tank of black somehow?). I think I did the math and a full color 8x10 print is somewhere around 12 cents worth of ink iirc?
    The quality of prints is gorgeous, though the ink isnt archival. Tbh I don't think anyone expects outside of certain juried art shows though anyway.
    Thanks for the comfy vlog

    • @brittanysalzone
      @brittanysalzone  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for sharing your experience with that printer! Something that I've noticed with my Epson Artisan 1430 printer, is that in order to make the best prints I can at home, I use the "Best Photo" option when printing. This makes the most crisp image possible, but I'm assuming it is also using more ink. I've been curious if people who have an Eco-Tank printer also use the "Best Photo" option, and still get a lot of use out of their ink when compared to someone with a standard photo printer like myself. Or is it pretty much the same ink output per print, but they just have larger "cartridges." If that makes sense, haha.
      That is interesting about the ink maybe not being archival though. The Epson inks I get for my printer are also water and fade resistant, which helps a ton as I also make stickers at home, mainly for my Patreon every month! Anyways, I'm surprised this printer has lasted me through college and years after. (I've read that my printer is one of the better made ones on forums) So when it finally decides to kick the bucket, I've got a lot of researching to do when deciding if an Eco-Tank or another photo printer like mine is right for me!
      Glad you enjoyed the vlog!! :]

    Canon or Epson eco tank or work printers, they are not loads cheaper but they are cheaper, honestly mostly people eventually decide to pay for printing. The only way to save is to cover less page with ink, in other words, line drawing or minimal coloured areas.

    • @brittanysalzone
      @brittanysalzone  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! I was thinking of this too, if I decide to do a small handmade series of notepads again, I'll just make the design have a lot of white space, and a simple design on it, so I don't drain my ink :] Thanks for the input!

    Hi! I love your products ! You have a great talent. May I know what other gloss coats can you suggest aside from resin? Something that is safer but with a good finish.

    • @brittanysalzone
      @brittanysalzone  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thankss!! Honestly, I haven't found a good alternative to using UV resin, haha. I have tried gloss varnish and it leaves a sticky finish that collects dust and hairs very quick. I've heard people have some luck with Sculpey Glaze in gloss or satin, and that it doesn't leave a sticky finish, but I've also seen people say over time it can get a little tacky. So I don't feel comfortable recommending anything other than UV resin at the moment! Creative Rachy on TH-cam has a good video on comparing different glaze options for polymer clay that might help you! th-cam.com/video/D7QNeG5TO2o/w-d-xo.html

    Both of your handmade and manufactured memo pads/notepads turned out great! I make mine at home because I'm not at a point where I can justify paying for manufactured ones. They do take quite a bit of ink and take a while to make so I usually put a limit to how many I create at a time. I use off-brand inks for my printer so I can get all the cartridges I need for a total of $20 to $30. I cried a little when I saw your corner rounder! I used to have that exact one but it wasn't good for using for a long period of time (why do they have those random lines where your thumb goes?). I love your cat print! It's super adorable! I can never cut nicely with a Xacto knife! The clay pins look great and I love the size of the backing cards.

    • @brittanysalzone
      @brittanysalzone  ปีที่แล้ว

      ahahahaha yes I hate my corner rounder to! My thumb hurts so bad, especially after rounding the corners on dozens of bookmarks! I really should just get a different one, haha. I know the lines on the button are for better grip, but man does it really start to dig into your thumb after a while lol. I used to use off-brand inks but ran into some problems when making stickers, so switched back to Epson inks. Much better print quality, but yeah the prize is crazy. I've had a lot of practice cutting paper with an Xacto knife in college! I rarely mess up nowadays. Glad to hear you like the clay pins and cat print

  • @michellecalleja5174
    @michellecalleja5174 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the tackiness of the pins, I picked up a tip from another TH-camr, Jackie from Nerdecrafter, she mentioned to keep putting it under the UV until it is no longer tacky. We have that one minute UV lamp and my husband was having that issue, I told him to do that and eventually it came out nice and clear, no tackiness. I guess it's just a sign that it needs a longer time to "cook".

    • @brittanysalzone
      @brittanysalzone  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I was thinking but I just didn't want to keep hitting the 1minunte button lol After 5-6 minutes(turning them every so often as well) they were cured just not super smooth. My UV resin says 2-4 minutes under a lamp. So I did the window method for only about an hour and they were fine! I'm sure leaving them in the lamp would have worked as well though :]

    • @michellecalleja5174
      @michellecalleja5174 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Brittany Salzone Lol yes he had to push that button several times, he was a bit annoyed, but it worked. The sun is also a great alternative since this resin it's cured by UV and you confirmed it. They looked great and btw I love your work!

      Thank you! You can find the paper I use for my bookmarks in my Amazon Storefront with this affiliate link: amzn.to/3nLNwAO It prints beautifully and the thickness is perfect for bookmarks, not super stiff like heavy cardstock! I just personally don't like cardstock bookmarks, haha. I laminate both sides with matte Oraguard 210 from creativecraftvinyl.com. As for the memo pads, I used basic copy paper that I got a long time ago and never used. I don't remember the brand, but your average copy paper is fine!
