I enjoyed this video because you shared your honest process and it was engaging and worth a watch. I enjoyed your style of video making and your desire to make everything your own, you have your methods and regardless of perfectionism or not, the effort, your effort is appreciated in making and sharing. Thanks.
here in the philippines, we also have quite a similar dish as this one but we only call it, sinabawang tahong (mussels with soup/sauce) instead of white wine, we use water or lime lemon soda drink! garlic and ginger. soo tasty with vinegar, garlic, shallots and salt dip.
Hey. I love love love the clay pieces! I like to make clay art myself but my biggest struggle is with designing them. I just feel like i could never come up with a perfect original design. seeing your art and very cute and interesting pieces, I had to ask how do u design them? what helps you?
Thanks!! I try to think of themes or subject matter I like drawing, and see if I can translate them into a clay piece that isn't too complex to make! I like to make a ton of sketches first, so I can see if the design would work well for the intended clay magnet/pin. A good design that has been well-thought out makes for a easier time actually making the clay piece!
Beautiful and useful video, thank you! I'm just getting started with polymer clay, so it was really interesting to see the whole process. I'm also trying to work with acrylic paints, it's so difficult! :0 I'm glad that youtube recs led me to your channel :з
Glad you liked it! Using acrylic paint is a little more difficult I think! Thinning it with water helps, but often means more than one coat is needed. I'd like to try out gouache paints sometime! They look better for things like this :]
haha, the glass was actually a gift! But I'm in Georgia, closer to Atlanta :] I'd like to visit Savannah though, it seems nice! I use polymer clay by Sculpey, and no, it is not normal to have some bend to it. At least not once it is fully cooled after baking. Right when you take it out of the oven it might be a little flexible, but it hardens up when it cools. Hope that helps!
I make polymer clay jewelry too! I never leave my work to bake the next day, accident prone lol so the odds are they would be messed up! Lol ps you can use acetone one they’ve been baked instead of alcohol, that’s what I do cause you don’t have to be so gentle cause it won’t ruin the shape.
It's a bit of a risk if you don't bake the clay immediately once they are done, but I'm confident I won't mess them up if I wait till the next day to bake them. I'll have to try the acetone next time! Thanks!
Very nice video!! Informative and inspiring :) I am having trouble with cleaning up the edges without distorting the shape of my clay. Any recommendations?
Thanks! I'd recommend letting the clay rest for an hour, it could be a little too soft from the warmth of your hands. So let it get a little cooler, and it should firm up a bit, making it easier to clean up the edges!
Hi! I was wondering if you ever tried having magnets imbedded inside the clay so that is hidden (I want to make two keychains that magnetically attaches). I'm new to clay and wanted to surprise my long-distance partner with something ;-; This video has been pretty helpful so far, so many thanks!
I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it's possible! I'd probably stamp the magnet into the soft clay prior to baking, so the magnet sits in the clay nicely. Just don't bake the magnet in the oven with the clay! Haha. If you did this method, you'd have to make sure your clay is pretty flat and smooth though, if it's uneven it might make the magnet not connect well to a metal surface. Hope that helps!
@@brittanysalzone Oh wait that's honestly very smart! If I were to cover the magnet with the clay, it'll probably not work as well I'm assuming? But regardless, thank you so much for the reply! I'll try it right away !!
This is genuinely the best clay pin art I've seen! In terms of the glue to use to attach the pin backings, is that a brand you fully recommend? I was considering using E6000 as I'm always having the pin backing rip off with a little bit of pressure🥲
Yes I would recommend it! I haven't had any issues so far with either my clay magnets or pins. And I love that the glue doesn't have a strong smell! My pins have an extra layer of strength to the backing because I cover the pin backing with resin after the glue has cured. The E6000 is a popular one I've seen used a lot for things like this but I haven't personally used it.
This video has the best tips I've seen so far, and I've watched several similar videos. Thanks for sharing your expertise, I appreciate it.
Thanks so much! 😊
Dusting corn flour onto the clay stops it sticking & doesn't affect the clay at all 😊
I especially love the cats 🐾
Ohhh this is a cool idea! Thanks for the tip!
They're so cute! I love them
hehe, thank you!
The pins & magnets are BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for sharing!💗😊
Yay! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the video 🖤 I'm itching to make some new magnets for a future shop update!

Thanks! Looking forward to making some new things for a spring shop update!!
Wow- thanks for sharing your process! This looks way more promising than me trying with Fimo 😊
Also (additional commy): Artists sharing their process and supporting each other is so heartwarming and helpful for me to see!

This video is super helpful. I noticed your Moon River brewing glass. You must be in Savannah. Me too!
How hard are your finished pieces? Is it normal for sculpted to have some bend to it?😊

Ive read somewhere that it's easier to use silicone brush to even out when putting resin, easier to clean using acetone. Haven't tried it yet though.
I prefer using a soft brush, but I haven't tried the acetone yet! :]

@@brittanysalzone lol not me. I have 3 kiddos and we’re all accident prone. 😫🤣 one of us will ruin my work. Your work is super cute btw.
I would love each one so much,that I couldn't sell them😂

yeah! I wouldn't recommend covering the magnet, it would loose its strength!
What is that black tool you were smoothing out the clay with?
I used various clay sculpting tools, but the black ones are Sculpey Tools brand, their duel end detail pack of 3. Hope that helps! 💜
Is that a air dry clay or poly ??
I use Original Sculpey oven-bake clay, which is a polymer clay :]
@@brittanysalzone oh okay but can we make it with air dry clay??
@eyeecandy1520 you can! It's a bit more difficult to get a smooth, flat piece though, but it's an option if you don't have polymer clay :]
@@brittanysalzone ill try it thank u ❤️
