    👀 ABOUT THIS VIDEO
While most restaurants are struggling during the coronavirus outbreak, coffee shop owner Max was able to pay off his cafe's rent and his own salary in just 24 hours by selling this item...
The recent stat says that 24% of small businesses will permanently close down if this global pandemic keeps going for 2 more months. That's a massive number. Just in the U.S, the restaurant industry saw 5 million jobs lost. No doubt that the restaurant and food & beverage industry is one of the hardest hit from the coronavirus lockdowns.
For Max, who owns Narrative Coffee in Washington State - that gloom and boom story isn't that applicable. Before COVID-19, his cafe was doing exceptionally well. And when things started to get worse, he was smart to be prepared for what's to come. This meant sanitizing the place and speaking with his team in predicting what may happen (dine-in bans). Although that ban has been the crux for many businesses, it wasn't for Max. He has built Narrative like the textbooks. He has a good run way and kept track of his numbers. This allowed him the confidence that his business can survive this pandemic and what options he had. Unfortunately, many small businesses don't do that (which is why I always talk about business health!).
As impressive as that is, Max's mindset and textbook-style method of running his cafe should be an inspiration for other restaurant owners and coffee shop owners.
So if you are a restaurant owner, restaurateur, food entrepreneur, coffee shop owner, cafe owner, or run a food business, this interview I have with Max will be helpful for you in the post-covid world.

I was thinking I needed to do an MBA degree to get into business. but your podcast your channel, i'm sitting and binge watching all your previous videos surely this such inspiring and informative videos better than doing an MBA. I really liked how Max was such an empathetic responsible business owner. A gallon lattes must be very helpful for people who work from home like me and cant got o a cafe shop. I was wondering if you would an in depth video of paid search ads or get someone who does paid search ads for F & B Businesses. I like your marketing videos on social media strategy and growing a brick and mortar store. Thank you and keep posting.

Hope this guy is doing well.. I own a small restaurant and being Chinese in the SF Bay area we started doing changes in late Feb 2019. That unknown during that time was surreal especially with mask, I still remember at first people just questioned us on why we has mask and also saying they don't help and so on guess we were ahead of the curve. For me I finally hit the tipping point for my business about just 6 months before this with record months every single month at that point, so I had finally had emergency money which I was extremely lucky (5 months) because even if we opened at those times because of supply chain problems/pricing issues it was a straight lose no matter what. Sadly at this point in time we are bleeding out and since then my rent has gone up almost 700 dollars a month and wages have gone up to just be competitive 20/hr and cost of raw good increased by roughly 30%, sales tax went up and now I feel our menu prices are honestly too expensive because I had a pivot. I at this point I need to pivot a large amount and that scares the fuck out of me now. Sorry for the rant..

The one question I'd have is how he came up with the half gallon latte idea. Did people ask for it? Did an employee propose it? Did the owner have an inspiration?

The content was amazing but being bothered by annoying ads every 5 minutes take all the pleasure of listening away. I have been a supporter of your content BUT if this is the trend it's going to take, I won't be anymore. I understand you need to monetize somehow, but it's a bit too much.

Went to take a look in the backend and compared it to our other vids (literally had no idea you could see manual placements) - you're right this was WAY too much somehow got populated with a lot more ads by TH-cam's AI. Something to add to my checklist to take a look at when uploading so this won't happen. I do want everyone to enjoy the vids and get the most value out of them as much as possible :)
