Nowhere in Egypt are the hustlers more aggressive than at the pyramids. Some people can't stand them, but I try to embrace them as part of the tourist experience.
Honestly, *thank you* for saying what you said about the horse and camel owners, from everything I've seen online and heard from friends who've been, they don't treat them kindly, and so I'd honestly Never pay for a ride with one of those types of people,
Awesome thanks so much for the encouragement. Glad you enjoyed the video. I'm sure you will have an epic adventure in Egypt... it would be hard not to.
Looks chaotic. What time of the day did you visit. I've seen vids of people arriving at opening time and they pretty much had the whole place to themselves.
Actually that man was helping me find the bus, and I just had to ask before boarding "Haram? (Pyramids)". I don't have clear directions for finding the Giza bus unfortunately. You can also take the subway to the "Giza" station where there are buses that take you directly to the pyramids. This is probably the easier option.
Good question! I recognized this as a lie, so I just ignored the guy and went on my way. It's fair when hustlers try to sell me stuff, but I don't like when they lie to me.
The Chinese have the perfect phrase for this "The hungry don't get fed." I know Westerners try to feel some compassion, but these folks are desperate due to their own life choices.
Yeah that's a good strategy, although many of these guys have learned some French, Spanish, German, etc to improve their chances with a wider range of tourists
What time of day did you arrive to the pyramids? I will be there in a few weeks and plan to get there are 7am on the dot! Also, how much time did you spend at the pyramids? I plan to go to Saqqara right after.
I went early in the morning but the earlier the better for sure! You can absolutely go to Saqqara in the same day…. Personally a half day was enough at the pyramids
Well I was thinking of coming to see the pyramids I all ways wanted to but the hassle that these people cause would absolutely ruin the whole experience of this wonder of the world they have ruined it why don’t the government put and end to this disgusting behaviour that is destroying the whole experience for the people of the world who would come to see this magnificent place
Reminds me of the hustlers around the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey many years ago. Aggressive and annoying. One taxi driver even told me as we were riding along the Black Sea, I was a good guy, he was a very bad guy. He was right. Tried to rip me off for $300 at the end of the ride.
Yeah it's unfortunate about that. I saw some people getting visibly frustrated. I had a pretty good idea of what to expect, so I was mentally prepared for the hustling
@@benbrazyoutube yes you should have used the Plural ahramat better. Yes my friend in Islam "haram" are those things what are forbidden like drinking alcohol. Halal is the opposite.
It's refreshing to watch a video where someone sticks to their guns and doesn't give in to the hustlers! Well done!
Thank you very much for the kind words Paul. And welcome to the channel!
You have great channel thank you for that awesome video 👍👍👍

Yeah it makes me uncomfortable when they hit or whip their animals. It's unfortunate that it seems to be common practice in many parts of the world.
I saw another video the Camel did not look well,it definitely was not fead well 😢
Amazing video I cant wait to go to Egypt myself new sub here from a fellow Canadian :D I look forward into watching more of your videos

Ah yeah that's possible. I got there late morning, probably between 10:00 and 11:00. Couldn't miss the included breakfast at my homestay
"Canada Dry" 🤣
Canada Dry, never die!

Finally how to spot the Giza bus? Please tell us detailed so that we can avoid hassle finding the bus as well in near future
@@benbrazyoutube
What did you do when a pesky huslter warned you -"you are not allowed to walk"

That's an interesting phrase from the Chinese, and it seems to carry some truth, doesn't it.
They hear Canada and know y’all are so polite 😎🤣💙
Very impressive Ben although i dont think i could handle the constant badgering . I would probably lie and say i didnt speak english .
Yeah that's a good strategy, although many of these guys have learned some French, Spanish, German, etc to improve their chances with a wider range of tourists
I plan to visit the pyramids one day in near future... I am black (Indian)......... do these people pester only white people or also black people?

Ohh wow eh, yeah that definitely leaves a sour taste in one's mouth eh
Super👍
Thank you for watching!
They would definitely ruin the whole experience,i would just get so frustrated and mad at them
Yeah it's unfortunate about that. I saw some people getting visibly frustrated. I had a pretty good idea of what to expect, so I was mentally prepared for the hustling
Very informative...pls share hotel details
Hey, thanks for watching! The hotel was called "2 Jana Pyramids View Inn" and it cost about US$10 for my comfortable private room.
Wish I had seen this before I went in 2009. Got caught with no cash other than uk pounds. Wanted USDollars so wouldn’t let me get down from camel!
Oh no, that sounds like a major hassle. I always exchange some cash immediately after arrival to avoid these situations
We were advised by our tour guide not to take cash with us
@@carollongden2369 You were advised to carry no local cash while travelling in a foreign country? I would strongly advise against ever doing that
I slept like a baby in Egypt, walking all day and the beds were so comfy. Just say Laa, shoukran and walk away.
you sure you didnt get drugged and molested?
Yeah I often slept well too, except when woken by people in my dorm. I actually enjoyed interacting with the pyramid hustlers
-Beautiful camel
- You too 😂
Hahaha! You know, I don't even think I noticed that before. Thanks for pointing it out.
The dude who approached you earlier for the camel is Mehdi! The only guy you can trust in Egypt ❤
You actually recognized him?? Amazing!
@@benbrazyoutube Becoz he’s the ONLY one you can trusted 😂
It’s the same persistent dudes in every TH-cam video.
Oh really eh, can't say I'm surprised
They way you ask the people "haram, haram?" 🤣
Haha yeah it means pyramid in Arabic 🤪

Just dont talk to them?
If I was really tired or something, sure I would ignore them. But normally I try to be polite and friendly, and I usually enjoy engaging with people.
"you look like Egyptian" saying that to a Caucasian guy is the most cringiest line ever... they're so delusional
😅 sooo you don't think I look Egyptian? 🤪
I'm sorry for you
Oh that's ok, I knew what to expect and I guess it's all part of the experience.
The Lord Jesus Christ himself couldn’t avoid these hustler’s at the pyramids! 😂😂😂
You don't think so?
They won't go away cause you're too nice.
Practice saying...NO! 😠
Works for me.
Haha I hear ya, but for the most part I enjoy interacting with hustlers no matter where I am
Take local bus on vacation? How stingy can you be??? Sheeet
I've been budget traveling full-time since 2012, not on vacation. And I'm not afraid of a little adventure.
Hey Ben hope you’re doing well , bring a Camel to Canada 😂
Hahaha yeah you want a camel? I'll bring one next time
You look Egyptian that is why they speak English 😂
Haha yeah they obviously only say that to engage tourists
What many people don't understand is that the guides have no monthly income, you would be doing them a favor with 100 EGY Pouds
Of course I understand that. It doesn't change the fact that I don't want a camel ride.
There's absolutely nothing worth seeing in this country
Why do you say that?
Glad to see the Pizza Hut outside the pyramids survived since 2009! ;)
Let me guess... you ate there??
