I play slot of stevie and have his almost exact sound. And I'm not saying I can play like him because there is only one stevie and only one of me but i picked the guitar up at 13 and i am now 19. His music and play style saved me from depression and life in general. Now I can play every srv song note for note and I have never been happier with life because by playing his music taught me one thing. Dear musical Class, (that's all of you, lol), Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn's music is actually an astonishing thing, man. He's got so much heart, and puts so much into it, some say Stevie knows "every" blues riff there is, technically. And interestingly enough, even though he may actually indeed technically really know "every" blues riff there is, in his music if you pay attention closely, you can still hear the Classical style and roots of all music, in Classical music. I am working with a certain student right now currently in music, and we are studying several things in music and music theory, some of which you can definitely hear in Stevie Ray Vaughn & his awesome Band's music, including inversions, and a thing called participles. Stevie and his Band work at a lot of things in music, and in inversions and participles, we deal with playing the same chords, yet in various ways, and in various positions on the fretboard and on our instruments, including the drums. It deals with varying things up quite a bit, and finding ways to play the same chords and chord progressions and even the same notes, but in various places on the fretboard and on our instruments. So you may be playing a 12 bar blues song, say for example, in the key of A, where you start in the first position, in the root position, but then throughout the song you also go to playing in other positions, such as in the first or second inversion. So it kind of deals with mixing it up in your playing, so as to where you and the audience never get bored, because there is so much variousness and variation in the chord progression of the tune. In so many words, it's like finding 10 million ways to play the same thing, and some peoples say, even math experts and mathematicians, that there is a potentially "infinite" number of variations in music regarding things. Think of it, a song and music so rich with variation and multiple ways to play the same thing, that you and the audience get totally turned on and tuned up, and just never get bored with repetition. And in closing Class, without blowing your brains up, inversions and participles in music also deals with finding the exact same chords and notes in various places, including the exact same frequencies, of sound but in various places on the fretboard and on our musical instruments. Class, music is so much fun, and in music there are at least two types of musicians and ways of playing. We have peoples who play "by ear", and peoples who play "by music theory". Some peoples and folks may not even know a single thing about the technical music theory side of Music, nor what the names of the notes and chords are at all, yet they can still play totally good and sound good, and entertain themselves and their audiences just great! While the music theory musicians and players know what the names of the notes & chords are, and what the time signatures are, and all kinds of technical things about music, but don't play "by ear" at all, and yet sound equally good and totally good, good enough to entertain themselves & their audiences just as good as the ear musicians. And I am here to tell you, and Teach you, that both are good & okay, always, regardless of all always (aroaa), man. Both ear musicians and music theory musicians. But also, remember this finally Class, don't be afraid to learn "both", aroaa, because if you are an ear musician for example, learning the technical side of music and music theory absolutely cannot and will not ruin your playing by ear, I promise. One doesn't change the other, and so the same goes for music theory musicians that can also learn to play by ear. So just being one or the other and not both is totally cool & good too, always now (aroaa), but absolutely DON'T be afraid to learn both too, because it will not change your talent either way, what it will do is expand your playing and your ability and broaden your musical horizons, in some good way only, aroaa. Peace out Universally, and thanks aroaa to Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn & his band, & the Renaissance', & Classical music, Composers, & Musicians, the root of all music and styles, and find out about inversions & participles in your training and studies in Music, peace.

Stevie Ray Vaughan had the ingenious way showing you that his way of playing guitar was Possible and he did it instead of talking about it..Stevie is sensational but..by some miracle he was lead to all the right people and places in his search for recognition and make money ..Stevie put a lot effort in what he set out to do and by God's will..He successfully fulfilled his dream of playing Blue's and rock n roll..He went through hard hurdles at times but..he survived them..Only to be killed by a helicopter crash and take him from us..RIP Stevie..you left your mark and skills on this earth and you wont be forgotten..Your not in VAIN..NEVER

AS has been said and it can't be said enough, Thank You SRVMusicVideo. It never is old to watch him play and add something here or put his special touch and nuances on every song he plays live. Each song each concert he takes as new and plays it the way he feels for it this night. Again not enough gratitude can be typed or voiced. A simple thank you seems not enough, but Thank You from this gentleman's heart.
I feel for Stevie during this(Soul to Soul) period. He was still great but you can tell from his eyes and skin tone that he wasn't healthy. He just looks drained. All the years of whiskey and cocaine had caught up with him at this point. When Texas Flood hit, he was still pretty healthy and hungry to succeed. But when he sobered up, he really looked great. Sobriety was a huge battery charger for Stevie. His Austin City Limits performance, for instance, shows him looking, feeling, & performing top notch.
I Think Stevie Would Say Something More Like - Sobriety Was A Huge Life Saver! Seriously!! It Was His HEART - & He Shared His EXPERIENCE STRENGTH & HOPE w/EVERYONE! I'm Mounting MY First AA Chip On A Chain, Too!! FUCKIN'-A, STEVIE!!💞🙏

+live2shredman they say he used to superglue his calluses back onto his fingers if they fell off, and he would also superglue his fingers to his arm and rip the skin off his arm to make the calluses thicker. It looked like he had cigarette burns up and down his arm but it was from him ripping the skin off for his fingers. he was on so much cocaine at the time he wasn't feeling the pain. He was using very thick and heavy strings. when he got clean he started to feel the pain and his guitar tech helped him pick out some lighter strings that didn't tear up his fingers so bad.
+live2shredman If you get a chance, read the first biography "Caught in the Crossfire" ....there's a part where he talks about how Stevie had to superglue the callouses back on his fingers to play.
I played .013's for years, had to finally bite the bullet and drop to .011's. You can still get a pretty meaty tone from them and I've saved a few dollars on superglue now

R.I.P. Beautiful Bluesman (10/24)
He had soul, soul, soul and that's why he was and is so loved, you gotta have soul big time to do what he did twice first under the influence and then clean it doesn't get any more finished.
Put Stevie on late last night , wanted to sleep, it didnt work lol. Found myself just listening , wanting to hear every note he played . Wanted to get up and dance
He was so beautiful talented and humble and so real he was a true beautiful light in this world he could light it up with his music and he touched my soul with love that no other person has done rip beautiful Stevie you are loved and missed ❤
Beautifully said. Stevie was something really special.
I miss him so much ❤ pure
Fire🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lord have mercy, I haven’t seen this concert before. So glad I ran onto it. What a gem
💎❤️💎❤️💎. 🤘🏼💀🤘🏼
Whoever put this out there for us, 2 words Thank You.💎❤️
how can you not like this!
The only thing I can think of is that a person would have to be brain dead or maybe have a serious mental condition. May not have a soul or a heart. How about this, just plain ignorant or don’t know what real music is. I couldn’t imagine not loving Stevie. My world would have to be really fuked up. I do know that ❤❤
you were the best you still are the best i'm so mad just to think that your gone..... i love you and i'll do my best when i play guitar i think about you .thinking about you gives me wing i love so much sad that i could not had seen you i'm only 15....
nice to see other youngsters liking his music :) i'm 17
I do the same!!!!! Stevie was and Is Incredible.
Love live and laugh at life and surround yourself in happiness because if you dont everything is going to catch up to you quick.
One of a kind, brilliant and a heart bigger than this world!

It's Better than Jimi!,Stevie is Giving Jimi Free Lessons in Heaven!
literally gave a dude a handshake while soloing, that alone makes the solo better imho lol
@@rgarrison1819 Stevie giving Jimi lessons ? Sorry, Stevie would have a good laugh first and then put you in your place the same way he did with the concert promoter who put him on the bill higher than BB King.
@@jupitermoongauge4055You really should try,and Quit being a Clown!,That Comment was there to Compliment Stevie!,Because He was one of The Greatest Blues Guitarist in The History of Music!,and I know Stevie would never Personally Put Himself at that Level,or ever Personally Say such a Thing!!!,Because He had such Respect for The Greats that came before him,Such as Jimi Hendrix,BB King and Albert Collins!,so Get this Straight,I am Myself,Saying that Stevie Ray is Probably Teaching Jimi some New Jams in The Afterlife!!!,so I really don't care if You agree With that Statement!,Get a Life!!!
I missed the only concert chance I had right about this time in 85 in Champaign, Illinois, a double bill with Robin Trower, another guitar great. I like to think that this was my chance to get that close. Great facial expressions... he was happy to be playing and singing. The joy was rolling off of him. This! THIS is how I want to remember him, and pretend this was the concert I missed.
U r so right Robin Trower is a badass n I luv him actually had the pleasure of meeting him at the Exit/In in Nashville, Tennessee but SRV was on a plane all by himself.
OMG, when I was in the Finnish army prforming my duty, they got us a ticket!!!! Pori Jazz is one Magical Happening!!! I truly hope its time isnt over due to some economic stupidity!!!!!
"SRV" What A BADASS, Godson Of The Blues 🎵🎸🎶 He's Definitely One Of A Kind, RIP SRV 🎸🎵 thanks for sharing
The Pimp Wearing Wizard is a Genius
I like how unique his soloing on "Life Without You" is to other versions.
The one , the only ,the greatest, SRV , we all miss him still
Awesome! Stevie Ray played with the soul!
Stevie Ray Vaughan had the ingenious way showing you that his way of playing guitar was Possible and he did it instead of talking about it..Stevie is sensational but..by some miracle he was lead to all the right people and places in his search for recognition and make money ..Stevie put a lot effort in what he set out to do and by God's will..He successfully fulfilled his dream of playing Blue's and rock n roll..He went through hard hurdles at times but..he survived them..Only to be killed by a helicopter crash and take him from us..RIP Stevie..you left your mark and skills on this earth and you wont be forgotten..Your not in VAIN..NEVER
Stevie's playing didn't seem to suffer at all, even when he transitioned out of "Coked-up Stevie" and into "Cool Mainstream Stevie". What a talent...
Your exactly right. I love 💕 Stevie so much, so much passion, he was so smooth yet brazin. Beautifully spoken words for someone named Lucifer. Ha ha, just messing with ya a little bit.🌹🦋🌹🦋🌹🦋🌹🦋🌹
Raspy voice!! Loven it
Sexy hot voice to especially in Tin Pan Alley and Mary had a little lamb, well, many more❤
Thank God for these videos because we didn't have youtube back then and I didn't get a chance to listen to him and all of his great talent he had.
He died way too young!
All of the singers I loved growing up I find out in the later years of my life they all sold their souls and what a sad and huge disappointment!! I hope and pray Stevie Ray really did practice hard and had a God-given talent! He was truly a bluesman! Thank you for these great pieces of time past!
His tie dragging over the strings not dareing to mute his strings out due to the fact he plays so raw, if that was me all my stuff would be messin up, its like everything he does is perfect, even his mess ups sound like it was meant to be.
SOUL💞SOUL, STEVIE💗😘
Love Stevie Ray Vaughan - Love Finland :-)
Siempre es un placer ver al increible Stevie Ray!!
hyvaa paskaa - another awesome performance, he loved playing Finland (and everywhere else) being Canadian-Finn I just love this . Blessed to have witnessed him 3 times here in Montreal should have been at least 5. time...

Thank you...I feel the same!~
I was 26 years old at that time now I'm 60 time to fly quick.
A huge thanks legendary saw him way back when he toured Australia in '85 what can i say amazing stuff
💗 💖 💘 💝 💟 ☮️
Amen bruthr
I Think Stevie Would Say Something More Like - Sobriety Was A Huge Life Saver! Seriously!! It Was His HEART - & He Shared His EXPERIENCE STRENGTH & HOPE w/EVERYONE! I'm Mounting MY First AA Chip On A Chain, Too!! FUCKIN'-A, STEVIE!!💞🙏
@@maureendrozda9033 Yeah, I was on booze & drugs for around 30 yrs. Then I found God and He filled that big hole in my heart. Just keep the faith my friend & congrats on your sobriety.

Nadie, nadie, nadie....nunca jamás va a tocar rock como él, estoy bailando en la cocina.
Me entra en el medio del pecho... salud mí amigo.
Guardo tu video
I can never understand how Stevie's scarves don't mute the sound of his strings. They don't seem to though.
The scarf knew if it screwed things up it would be history.
😲😭RIGHT?? It Was As If The Regular Rules Were Suspended Just For Stevie...😁🤗🎸
The perfection is amazing!!!
Thank you for uploading this!
Legend ❤️🔥🥃🚬 RIP
O helllll yea. This is amazing footage to study his playing. Thanks!

Its an amazing gift to watch a legend play that Strat. He had more talent in his pinky than some of these new Stevie wannabes. There'll never b another him.God rest his soul he earned it.Miss u SRV.. Rest in Peace
Love won't give up on Stevie!!
Sir? You are doing God's work uploading these videos!! ;)
Indeed he is..
🤣🤣🤣
I totally agree with that God gave us that talent to enjoy n we did. But I've always heard only the truly good die young n I believe that. N he found God before he left this world, so we know exactly where to find him, with his Father that blessed him with that talent he shared with the world while we were blessed to have him here.
grant Stevie Ambassador status!
I was there :) Great!
Mindblowing @ about 4:00 min. Not only their playing but you can see the woodgrain and wear n tear of that guitar like viewing through a microscope. Double Trouble Wow!!
I'm stoked, this vid is new to me, give my thoughts on it in a couple hours
Hey putito, how's it been!!!
Blues Fantástico ... Great vídeo!
I always come back to watch this video because I am fascinated by the full backline of Marshalls.JCM800s and master volume JMPs. I guess that was what they had to rent. Still sounds like Stevie and sounds amazing.
One of the great ones festivals where the good times happens especially when a great guitarist and band play at the festival man I tell you what those days were beautiful people friends come down have a good time drink some beers smoke a spliff and just have a good time no violence no hassles just good times beautiful I miss it those times thank you very much Stevie Ray for those moments one love one love one love rest in peace from my heart to yours 💞🌝

Someone once told me they thought God feels there are just some people that are to great for this evil 👿 decaying earth 🌍. I had just lost my dad and was having a very hard time with it. My dad was an incredible person, give the shirt 👕 off his back. So humble kind caring, cared about others he would help ppl , my best friend. I could talk to him about anything and he would never judge me.had a awesome mom to. Just incredible ppl. Lost my mom last year. Was with both when they took their last breath holding their hand. I miss them so much ❤. Stevie seemed to be a very humble kind caring loving person, maybe God thought he was to great for this mess we live in called America 🇺🇸. Al I know is that I love 💕 them and miss them very much. I believe we’ll be reunited one day,🌹

NEVER seen him play Texas flood over his head nor change from behind his back to over his head, crazy !
Check Texas Flood on SRV Live at the El Mocambo.
Funny, I haven’t seen a version of Texas Flood where he doesn’t play behind his back! Always amazing.
Thank You !
Love it
Thank you man!!

Great Post - Thank You!!
Watch at minute 11:31 during Voodoo Chile hoe Stevie is in the beginning his solo and the guy in white comes up to shake his hand, Stevie shakes it and keeps on jammin with the other hand with a steady flow! this is why he is the best blues guitarist to ever walk the earth!!
Por siempre en mí corazón
SRV and double Trouble live Finland 1985 and 1988
imagine being tommy shannon, played with johnny winter before.i mean that in itsself would be enogh for some...but not for tommy....one of the best blues bass players...yes fuckin sir...solid as a rock,or a pine knot
Número uno!
Did anybody else notice how trashed his fingers were at 35:00???
+live2shredman Yeah dude those were epic thick calluses.
+911ambulancegirl I've had to use the trusty superglue trick many of times. 12s and 13s are rough
+live2shredman If you get a chance, read the first biography "Caught in the Crossfire" ....there's a part where he talks about how Stevie had to superglue the callouses back on his fingers to play.
I played .013's for years, had to finally bite the bullet and drop to .011's. You can still get a pretty meaty tone from them and I've saved a few dollars on superglue now
Una Joya!!!
what pickups does he have on his white strat? They look kind of different than normal single coils.btw those are some awesome performances Srv and dt. wou will never ever be forgotten
Keith Richards they are danelectro lipstick pickups put on by charley wirz who custom built it for stevie

awesome
Never saw him play thru a complete Marshall rig before. I like it.
La música! el arte Nº 1.
There's some crappy video here, but I'll take crappy SRV video over super high res video of (insert name of any crappy modern "star" here_________________.) Man what a sound he had
Stevie looked in a bad way in the beginning. It looks like he hadn't slept in days. He appears to be having trouble getting his sound from those rental amps. Stevie you will be forever missed !
You'll be mine is the original Jack Johnson sound.
Luv that song 1 of my absolute favorites but I guess they all r. Listen to SRV everyday. Good for the soul.
Think about doing it for so long and only having a few years clean and sober to finish out we got robbed.
Where has this jewel been hiding? A really great take on VC. Even the Finns, those lucky dogs, feel it.
Is that his #1? I don't see SRV on it; maybe he added them later?
i love this era.. of SRV...the beard and all.. 1985. .He looks so damn cool..but maybe not best pysically. YOU never saw so many blonde haired people in one place!
Lol I noticed that too
NOPE! - That Would Be Sweden! I Have Extended Family From There...I LOVE Stevie's Facial Hair @ This Point, HOT!🔥 - It Suits Him, Looks More "Texan" Or Something...Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm!! But Very Mid 80's! In One Interview He Said He Was Offered To Guest Star On Miami Vice, But Couldn't Fit It In w/His Tour Schedule! His Music Was Always PRIORITY! He Wanted To "Learn Acting" But Said He Would Only Try It If He Could "Do It Well"...😧...I Wish ALL People In Entertainment Industries Cared That Much About What THEY Put Out There! Stevie Definitely Wasn't About Cranking Out Crap! And - Of Course, As Always...WORK THAT PLUME, BABY!!!😘🎸
400th like!! Hey you wouldn't have any extra stuff from the Albert King Srv in studio would ya? There's a guy that claims to have all the footage, like hours of behind the scenes stuff.
yes, I do. It's like 3 hours long.
SRVMusicVideo well I would look over to see that. Like SRV I'm a huge Albert King fan.
Great vid bro :)
how about some new live footage of some of his concerts
