Since when does someone’s opinion deserve this kind of merit when we have politicians and leaders lying to us daily.

"Did you murder these people sir ?" : Yes
@@deadkyle27 wtf are you talking about lol
Yes so long as it is the nature of the questions. Right now he is on direction examination, he answers the questions of the lawyer to the best of his abilities. In a perfect world he would answer yes, no or I don’t know, however witnesses are prone to elaborate or be witty and u see with jones… this can either help or hurt you depending on how the jury sees it, meaning it’s up to interpretation and potentially damning. Jones lawyers will have an opportunity to cross examine him. This is where a good lawyer will navigate through what was “opened” by the direct examination and allow jones to either elaborate responses, rebut testimony, corroborate, etc.
Yeah, that's the entire point. The legal system is a sham.
It depends on the questions. This is a hostile witness or cross examination, so leading questions are allowed.
If an open ended question is asked, the witness can give a narrative.

Answers require context and explanation many times. By forcing someone to answer just yes, no, or I don't know, then the lawyers can frame questions in a way that make the defendant look bad. Defendants need to able to answer in a way where they can refute the opposing counsel's attempts to paint them in a negative light.

I don't like that a judge can reduce someone's speech to a binary answer of yes or no when on the stand.
Especially when they ask a question that yes or no isn’t enough. Because saying no to some of these questions completely changes the way people look at the question.
The lawyer representing the person on the stand is expected to object if there’s something unfair being pushed.
@@aarohivijh He did multiple times and the judge was too worked up and personally invested that she let him ask really opinionated questions with extreme bias behind them.
I like how the judge tells the jury to not look at media while they use media exhibits from his own website.
She meant current media about the trial the media exhibits were from a while ago
It’s a rule in all courtrooms that the jury do not talk or look up stuff about the current trial. If the jury does this can cause the jury to have a biased decision, when the whole point of the jury is to have a unbiased thought process in their decision. This can also corruptly the jury and sway them to one side, which can cause a mistrial if prove true.
Yeah, everyone here is an expert on law right 🙄
Media that's been inducted as evidence in the trail itself.
A lawyer friend of mine said the best way to thwart being cross examined is to take a very long time before you answer, ask the attorney to repeat the question multiple times or to say you dont understand the question. The idea, I guess, is throw off their pacing and stress them out.
This is actually good advice. Should I ever find myself on trial for murder, or theft, even, I will surely remember the advice I received from one “Kurlyq” who hails from Kalamazoo, MI.
Correct! The most effective example I've seen is the cross examination of Douglas Oliver during the Robert Durst trial.

@@fegard9534 Considering we don't see the victim's family members so nervous at being questioned, they must be the "best and most hardened warriors" in your analogy and Jones must just be a scared little punk.
Andy Smith, you obviously never served in a forward area or fought under a barrage of gunfire. Many of us who’ve fought ardently under the banner of the Stars and Stripes, who suffer daily from PTSD, shake uncontrollably in times of adversity. Meanwhile people like you, who’ve clearly never experienced much in the way of hardship, dare to criticize people under stress. You don’t know what it takes to be a warrior.
@@JorgeMendez-kn5ql Jesus, learn to read the context. I wasn't talking about actual combat veterans or PTSD. The issue here is Alex Jones and his behaviour when questioned. Or are you trying to claim that Jones has PTSD from his vast combat experience?
@@andysmith1996 He was pointing out the obvious, that you are clueless and speak of things you obviously have never experienced. You sit in your basement pretending to know things that you are obviously clueless about. So tell us about how you have faced serious possibility of injury, physical or financial, and how well your performance was. So keep talking and continue to show us exactly how clueless you are.
That's comedy gold. Alex Jones drawing lazer eye on the picture of the judge and getting scolded for it.
This truly is a Kangaroo Court
Is this really how I can act in a witness box? Wow
Acting how so? He’s actually far more sedate and “cooperative” (?) than I figured he’d be….
I refuse to answer on the grounds that I will incriminate myself in this case?
If you commit no crime then yes
Yes, you actually can. Most people would be surprised how far u can push the line in court..
Have you never had to do jury duty? I can assure you that in most cases (being that most cases are low income people) actually get a lot crazier and wild then this. I was on a trial for 3 people with 3 sets of jury. All over a dope house getting robed and someone killing someone. What I see here is way more sane then I've seen in person
If I was Jones I would have said I don't know to every question lol
I was thinking same thing I woulda been like FINE....I don't know 😂
I agree . I would have loved to hear him say . If I'm not allowed to answer the questions then the answers are all I don't know .
I agree. He would lose his case a lot faster if he did, where he'd end up living under an overpass begging people for change.
If I was Alex Jones I would be bringing my own water to court.
The man the myth the legend
I freaking hate Alex Jones but why is he being forced to answer "yes, no, or I don't know?" Often, answering a question requires nuance. How can a court not acknowledge that?
He can't offer an opinion.
@@lavantwooten2581 But he's been asked about his opinion. "Is this an important case?" Etc.
@@theoneandonlysoslappyThat's what is called kangaroo .
Because he's proven time and time again that he cannot be trusted to stay on topic or actually answer the questions being asked. Just look at his previous court appearances, his lawyer cannot control him. And honestly, this is kind of for his own benefit as well -- his insane rants could very easily serve to convince the jury that he has not learned his lesson and increase the damages they award.
And it's also important to keep in mind that this is just a damages trial. He's not here trying to prove his innocence, he's already been found guilty/liable by default. This trial merely serves to show the facts of the case, as well as Jones' continued behaviour even after all of these cases, so that the jury can determine how much Jones has to pay the families.
@@paulwolf8444 Are you sure? A kangaroo court is a court that ignores recognized standards of law or justice, carries little or no official standing in the territory within which it resides, and is typically convened ad hoc. This trial seems to have a lot of previous trials before we got here and way to much paperwork to be Ad Hoc. Perhaps it is different where you live.
I think the lawyer was trying to incite bias from the judge
So obv and the judge already on theur side u can just tell hes been telling alot of the thruth
I bet he thinks he got a big win by saying “ a webpage”
Indeed he "owned" that lawyer at that moment. 🤣

well, he kind of did. Shows the incompetence of the lawyer.
" thanks for the correction" great response . Might have as well have said " ok true but not exactly relevant is it? AnYwAy... let move on"
@@robertcampomizzi7988 Serious question...what is the relevance with the questioning about Jones and the Judges relationship? IS she named on the lawsuit? Because he has insulted a public elected official and they have tied it in with the horrible insults of people who lost their children? I seriously don't understand what the Judge and this line of questioning has to do with Sandy Hook?
Finally, entertainment!!!
No bias coming from this comment but I think its interesting that they are coaching him all the way through this?
I always thought that you couldn't do that?
You know everyone in that court room didn’t drive straight home for their safety 😂
