@@fennex7575 This just hit me like a brick. Oh my god. I am unbelievably proud of Nadeo and how far TM has come. Been playing it as long as I'm alive pretty much, started with Sunrise eXtreme.
I'd buy this on a set of 5.25" floppy disks in the magazine section of my local supermarket.

In the short term? $9.99 to $59.99 (there's a "free" tier but it's even more of a joke than FreeZone in TMNF), long-term much, much more because it's a fucking SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE. As if game not being on Steam isn't bad enough, they've not only shot themselves in the foot, but then took an axe to it and cut the entire leg off completely.

I'm pretty sure Nadeo doesn't have the resources to release it on Steam since Steam takes a 30% cut which is simply too much I guess.
Just buy on UPlay.
Steam.. it was very bad, just remember all of the bugs and freeze when we used steam.. It was most powerfull to use maniaplanet

I completely agree but I assume they will market it some more before launch. Just search trackmania trailer on google or youtube and the first thing is trackmania turbo trailer. However I doubt this game will get the same marketing treatment as turbo but I would like to be wrong. Who knows maybe it doesn't even need a lot of marketing and it just grows on its own.

Steam takes a much bigger cut than Uplay or the Epic store. That's why devs are trying to move away from Steam, it's not as kind to devs as it used to be.

I don't see this as any more than a re-release and re-monetization of maniaplanet content, with the added "benefit" of fracturing the community into another game. It feels like this is the 7-8th time they've released stadium.
This is the biggest change to Stadium they've ever done visually and gameplay wise with big goals of improving competition, making the game more popular and accessible.

Atleast give Starters access to TRY the full Editor. You don't need to be able to put the track online or Something, but maybe be able to save them if you later choose to get a higher subscription.
You should always be able to try these things like we used to have demos for alot of games to try them.

Game is subscription based, but Ubisoft being french, don't seem to understand what that actually means, could someone tell me?.
If you look at the preorder page you have to pay for a sub to get access to your own clubs, private or public, and you need the subscription to have CUSTOM SKINS. Something that is totally free on the steam workshop for every other trackmania title, what a fuckin joke.

its free for starter acces and 10 dollars a year for standard acces and 30 dollars a year for full club acces

I disagree with buying skins and blocks with real money because in Nations it was fully free game. monetization would kill it.
@A K This has never been the way with TrackMania, but if you look in the past there has been some sort of freezone which allows you to play limited time per day for free. Another example is Maniaplanet where people can play the Live Channels only.
What i would consider and kinda recommend would be a basic paywall for the overall customize features and some servers. So, the ability to add skins and other custom stuff.
So you get the base game, you can still compete and build maps, but for a more indepth experience you would have to pay the fee.

I think sub model for a game that is supposed to a long time game and season is a way to go. Hylis said that if they make it as a one time purchase that is enough to maintain to the studio for 1-2 years, but this model can give more stability and thus more future content

@@NsgrTM because Steam is not just simple DRM, like Uplay is, it has In-Home streaming, family library, Steam Remote Together, Workshop, allows multiple OS verions for one game (Mac, Windows, Linux), has Proton, a good friendlist with VOIP support, group-support etc etc. VR-Suport, intergrated streaming support where friends or other people can just watch your game with a single click. The list of features in endless really.

You know what? I shouldn't discuss that. Because this is a personal preference.
@@Frapskillar It offers refunds, but only for "accidental purchases" - if the game doesn't run on your machine, or you simply doesn't like it, you can't get a refund on uplay (you can on Steam). Uplay literally only protects you from drunk shopping.
I would really like to see lagoon and turbo remade. I also hope they add wheel support and it is on consoles.

If you mean cross-play between platforms, then no because Nadeo doesn't have plans to port the games to consoles. If you mean between maniaplanet 4 and the new game, then also no because of the huge differences between the 2 games. Hope that answered your question :)

For a online game like trackmania i prefer to NOT see this game on steam.
Trackmania have his own ecosystem (maniaplanet) and a release on Steam will split communities and force the dev to work on steamcommunity.
On top that Steam take 30% of the sales... I like trackmania games i like the f2p part of it, i like the tools that provide nadaeo and I like how they works with the community, if I buy the game it's to support the company so I prefer to have a standalone installer and pay the game without a middleman would take 30% of my money.

I don't know...I mean I love Trackmania, but it's starting to look like they're releasing the same thing every time. Sure I can see the improvements, but is it enough? Hopefully there will be a demo after release to try out because as it stands, I don't see why I would play this over the previous titles.

The lead designer of Nadeo also stated that among all of the people he presented TrackMania to, out of all the available environments out there, a lot of people always opted for Stadium as it was the easiest to understand and get behind
@@ClearwaterUK I understand what you mean, and I enjoyed the stadium setting the most out of all of them. However, while watching the video it kind of feels exactly the same. Would have been nice to have some new variations in the asset designs.

Dear Nadeo developers. Please do not repeat previous environments! I mean those that were ManiaPlanet! CANYON, VALLEY, LAGOON. Leave at least some uniqueness for ManiaPlanet! I understand why you are releasing the first STADIUM. This is the best environment for car physics, excluding only a few blocks. I love STADIUM and supporting you, but the next one. I ask you TO MAKE A NEW ENVIRONMENT! Not like what we saw before in ManiaPlanet!

They aren't defined yet, game is still under development (hence the delay), and is still being optimized. That being said, you can check Stadium²'s minimal settings if you want to have an idea at least.

TrackMania is usually very high on performance even with super old pc's. They done a lot for Maniaplanet/TM2 in the past for performance and they probably use this learning here as well. Since its gonna be pushed for esport it should run just fine, even on my previous pc which is around 12 years old. TM2 still runs on it pretty fine with lowest settings but it doesnt look bad by that either.
