This show is very hard to watch for me. The male dominated culture is creepy tp me. One fiancée told his wife if they get married she’ll never be allowed to dance if the marry. The men can swim at the resort, the women. Annotate. A fight breaks out one evening because a fiancé turned her back on her man while in a conversation. This show was creepy. I’m still watching, but very thankful I don’t live in the Arab country it was filmed in. Compared to other LIB there were no meaningful conversation. No equality. Blah!!
Opinions of westeners who think brutality against Arabs is justified or otherwise it’s “antisemitism” don’t matter. Stay where you are and watch US lib where you have the guys with full kids they’re hiding, jobless guys who claim they’re working, creeps who can’t stop making segzual jokes, those who plan on cheating before they even match, the insecure guys who can’t stop talking about how rich they are because that’s all they have to offer, the mysoginists who will get off on doing what the woman hates the most, the ones who can’t even figure out where to look fo pasta in the kitchen, let alone cook it… If you’ve watched lib 7 (and I know you did) you know exactly every single guy I’m talking about here, but I guess all these red flags don’t matter because they’re americans, but Arabs automatically bad, talk about antisemitism 🤦🏻♀️
I watched it, the men definately didn´t get the ruels apply for them as well. Like you I cringe, but for a different reason. I don´t get it that Ammar swims like that and dont want his wife to dance in front of other men. He must walk the talk and choose differently. Karma sould also have said no i the beginning instead of making him change his mind. He was very clear about it (and has a right to have this rule). Guess they wanted to be in the show too much
I think more western viewers will fail to understand the show because of cultural differences. Most men and women in that part of the world believe in and appreciate the man as the head of the household. This is a cultural difference that the western viewer will not understand, same way we don’t understand or agree with some things in western culture. Having said that I do agree that there was a lot of immaturity on the show. You have to understand that arabs value their religion and more conservative culture, both the muslim and christian arabs by the way. They value the concept of modesty in religion which encompasses many things. What was interesting to me was that the women in the show seemed to want a traditional man, but only in the way they liked as in provider in the home and head of household etc. but wanted them to be more modern in other ways. The men on the other hand were more traditional but went to look for that in reality tv. something isn’t gonna match.
The big elephant in the room is not the habibi men's shortcomings and bad attitude even though it is something to worry the production about. It's the language or lack thereof. None of the participants master a language completely or have a mother tongue basically. What's the point of "traditions" that you don't understand or have any use for when you can't communicate with each other and get angry for every misunderstanding. This show is a build off of an earlier original based on countries. Habibi is not a country! 🤪🤪
Islam is very nuanced, more than just progressive vs traditional. In every Islamic state there are different social expectations of them as well, which made this season very complicated!
Belly dancing is a very seductive type of dance... no Muslim man, woman or family would accept that as it's against Religion, culture and a women's self respect.. since so much of the womans body is exposed
@@therealityguys8857it’s about modesty. Men and women value modesty in our culture. I think Karma is a beautiful woman (inside and out) but would need to find a less traditional man if she wants to continue dancing. Belly dancing is a very seductive type of dance... no Muslim man, woman or family would accept that as it's against Religion, culture and a women's self respect.. since so much of the womans body is exposed
I loved watching the season- just the different background, how they spoke , different cultures etc. Amar and Karma were not suited and the dancing issue was there from very early on. Amar more or less declared Karma off limits to the other men. The dancing was a deal breaker so they should have dealt with this to see if they could match with others. Chafik and Douana were too immature. What stood out to me was he made no effort to have a drink or food organised when she came to visit his apartment. If he’s not going to make the effort now there’s no way he will when they marry. I think they will split up. Mido and Noor were completely mismatched. I thought Mido despite being 39 was silly in the pods. He left without telling Noor which was disrespectful. Noor, great body but an average face. She was vain but I liked her dry wit. At one stage she checked her appearance by looking at her reflection in Midos sun glasses- so yes super vain. Simo and Hajar- another mismatch. Again bad behaviour for Simo to leave without telling Hajar. I liked Khabat and Asma and Mohammed and Safa and agree with the challenges they face if they are to be happy together.
The men are far from tradtional. They want traditional wives, but they themselves clearly aren't. We often mistaken this type of men as "traditional" based on what they want and not based on who they actually are.
Question to the Arabs, is it not appropriate to kiss your girlfriend or boyfriend on the mouth? I noticed that they only kissed each other’s forehead and cheeks. Also, if Dubai is a lot more liberal, do couples engage in premarital sex? Everything seem to be separated between men and women.
No; in Dubai sex outside of marriage is forbidden (like in Islam), and you can actually go to jail for this. That’s what happened to foreign women being r*ped there, they got charged with outside of marriage s*x. It’s easy to be more progressive when most Arab countries are so extremely conservative.
@@therealityguys8857 I did, but youtube deleted my commenct. Dubai is not really that liberal, it is easy to look that up. S** outside of marriage is forbidden as well as kissing in public.
@@Anna-bo5dk But it seems that the dress code is more liberal there. All the women's dresses were also very revealing and none wore a hijab. I've been to Dubai, and it seems like a strange mix between modern and traditional.
@@myleenjan that is true. Also, of course no Emirati women or hijabi would go to this show. It is just sad that those men are all totally conservative while wanting a women looking modern.
That breakup about belly dancer was too quick. We all have passions that we love ie clubbing, hanging out with boys or girls, playing football etc etc but there will be a time to stop it, even professional sport men and women will be signed out because of age. She just doesn't think a little bit what decision she's making towards marriage.
This whole show did'nt make any sense because it's haram (forbidden) to date in Islam. "It's a no for now" does not make any sense. You're basically saying "let's continue sinning in stead of making it halal (permissible) by getting married. They're all just a bunch of hypocrites that only talk about religion and culture when it's convenient to them.
A lot of them are Muslim but they’re not that religious. I think waiting is not a bad idea, it doesn’t mean y’all need to keep seeing each other. But someone like Asma shouldn’t have gotten married without her parents being at the wedding
Yes, finally a beautiful hypocrisy because they do everything in secret . I have a pretty friend who came back from Morocco and told me that they had never fucked so much. He said to me, "There are things under the veil..." And it was not alone to say that . I'm french and i know perfectly the subject .
My question to you, would you really be willing to say yes and sign a wedding contract without you parents' blessings and presence ? I don't think so ... If they did, that would be direspectful to the parents and that's the reason khattab and Asma postponed the marriage. So them saying no doesn't meaning that they want to keep "sinning" but more that they respect their parents and they want to wait until both families gave their blessings and are present. Now speaking of Chafic and Dounia , they are both still pretty young and their decision to take things slow steams from the fact that they wanted to have more time to know each other better and for their families to meet and get to know each other. Getting married is a big step and decision and one's life and it's better to follow a slower pace that be married in literally within a month of knowing each other. if there is anyone uniformed and hypocritical it's probably you. Peace out !
Ammar was right. I'm Muslim myself and I agree with everything he said. I just can't believe how she thought she wouldb be able to continue her job as a dancer while being married. No man will ever say yes to that.
The thing he chose her knowing that was her career. He should’ve gone for someone else not to try and change her if she didn’t want to. And btw I’m Muslim too.
Yeah I'm a Muslim too, but the way he talked to her was not respectful at all, she said that she made her decision, he should respect, and before, when she said that they should discuss and see, he said that he's the man, and whatever he said she should do, and no woman would accept that.
So, if he loves her, he also loves her interests, her passion. This is not love when you want another person to change their essence. It is not his business to decide where she will sit, and especially what she may or may not do. This character must seriously work on his insecurities and narcissism

It was a great show. I understand the cultures and not everyone will understand that some culture is the man and the pride is his family respect. Yes woman have jobs but the wife still is the unit and the children. If you took from all cultures and made one you would have a undeniably perfect one.
Seeing the cultural differences is something I found interesting to watch
Btw even the western versions of the show, they don't live with each other, i watched a podcast of a cast of love is blind uk, and she said that they don't live with each other, i think Maria
Oh really? Maybe we just didn’t notice that because we covered that season too
@@therealityguys8857 it's showed on the show as if they live together, but I've watched some interviews of the cast and one of them said that they don't actually live together.
I definitely felt like the woman were way more liberal than some of the men in this experiment which was shocking to me. But definitely a good watch
Agree on both things
This show is very hard to watch for me. The male dominated culture is creepy tp me. One fiancée told his wife if they get married she’ll never be allowed to dance if the marry. The men can swim at the resort, the women. Annotate. A fight breaks out one evening because a fiancé turned her back on her man while in a conversation. This show was creepy. I’m still watching, but very thankful I don’t live in the Arab country it was filmed in. Compared to other LIB there were no meaningful conversation. No equality. Blah!!
Very different for sure
Opinions of westeners who think brutality against Arabs is justified or otherwise it’s “antisemitism” don’t matter. Stay where you are and watch US lib where you have the guys with full kids they’re hiding, jobless guys who claim they’re working, creeps who can’t stop making segzual jokes, those who plan on cheating before they even match, the insecure guys who can’t stop talking about how rich they are because that’s all they have to offer, the mysoginists who will get off on doing what the woman hates the most, the ones who can’t even figure out where to look fo pasta in the kitchen, let alone cook it…
If you’ve watched lib 7 (and I know you did) you know exactly every single guy I’m talking about here, but I guess all these red flags don’t matter because they’re americans, but Arabs automatically bad, talk about antisemitism 🤦🏻♀️
Same here, couldn't watch it all.
Yeah the radius is so way too big
Islam is very nuanced, more than just progressive vs traditional. In every Islamic state there are different social expectations of them as well, which made this season very complicated!
As a Muslim I must say.. what we saw on this show is all cultural practices of Arabs from different countries nothing to do with Islam. thanks
Appreciate the comment
Definitely
Definitely what?
Karma runnnn!!!🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Sprint!
Why should she run? Ammar should not have chosen her, if he doesn´t like men enjoying her dancing body. He made the wrong choice to begin with..
Belly dancing is a very seductive type of dance... no Muslim man, woman or family would accept that as it's against Religion, culture and a women's self respect.. since so much of the womans body is exposed
for amar refusal,In our culture there is a belief that if you are a real man you will not allow your wife to show her charms to strange men.
Charms?
@@therealityguys8857it’s about modesty. Men and women value modesty in our culture.
I think Karma is a beautiful woman (inside and out) but would need to find a less traditional man if she wants to continue dancing.
Ammar is a great guy (could be a little more flexible) but definitely needs to find a traditional woman to match him.

Agree with all of this
Westernized women with traditional men is a difficult match.
Interesting tv though
No traditional woman would participate in a show like this. Total mismatch.
The men are far from tradtional. They want traditional wives, but they themselves clearly aren't.
We often mistaken this type of men as "traditional" based on what they want and not based on who they actually are.
Loved this review
Thanks glad you enjoyed!
Hoping someone answers this
@@therealityguys8857 I did, but youtube deleted my commenct.
She knew him for like 4 weeks she probably didn’t want to deal with that for the rest of her life
😳
😅
This whole show did'nt make any sense because it's haram (forbidden) to date in Islam. "It's a no for now" does not make any sense. You're basically saying "let's continue sinning in stead of making it halal (permissible) by getting married. They're all just a bunch of hypocrites that only talk about religion and culture when it's convenient to them.
A lot of them are Muslim but they’re not that religious. I think waiting is not a bad idea, it doesn’t mean y’all need to keep seeing each other. But someone like Asma shouldn’t have gotten married without her parents being at the wedding
Agree with Serenity here
Yes, finally a beautiful hypocrisy because they do everything in secret . I have a pretty friend who came back from Morocco and told me that they had never fucked so much. He said to me, "There are things under the veil..." And it was not alone to say that . I'm french and i know perfectly the subject .
you sound so bitter in all your comments, and I say this as a muslim
Peace out !
This show is awful and triggering . The constant abusive behavior and superficiality
Most reality tv is
Ammar was right.
He shouldn’t have picked her then if he had such a big problem with it
Yeah I'm a Muslim too, but the way he talked to her was not respectful at all, she said that she made her decision, he should respect, and before, when she said that they should discuss and see, he said that he's the man, and whatever he said she should do, and no woman would accept that.
So, if he loves her, he also loves her interests, her passion.
This is not love when you want another person to change their essence.
It is not his business to decide where she will sit, and especially what she may or may not do.
This character must seriously work on his insecurities and narcissism
Hahaahhaa what are you talking about?! Plenty of men will say yes to her, to all of her! You clearly live inside a bubble
