Bonnie is marrying Dan. Bonnie, Gale and Wayne (OP's husband) all studied together and are friends from the nursing thing. Gale is the one bitching about OP (wayne's wife). Dan hated OP and Wayne from what Gale told him. Bonnie never corrected any of this
I get the feeling that Wayne accidentally rizzed up both Gale and Bonnie. Gale was just the one with mental issues and Bonnie was constantly lying or omitting things which is almost as bad.
I would just make sure Dan knows what is up but not go since it was a big financial decision for them to go due to all of the drama.
Wayne must be a catch if he was able to drive one girl insane and the other into being a liar 😂

This is so stupid. There's nothing about this situation that isn't resolved with an eye-roll and a shrug of indifference. Friend and Foe alike will be revealed by their own actions, just sit back and let them, then everyone can see all parties for who and what they actually are. You don't need to probe for truth, find reason or rationalize anything. Just kick back, order a pizza, and don't even pretend to give a shit. The crazies, when left alone, always self-destruct. Just stand back and let them, and whoever is left standing at the end can be your friend. This takes no effort, no thought, just apathy.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY in EVERY relationship… instead of gossiping like children with Bonnie, Wayne should’ve called Dan and also called gail WAY sooner… instead of listening to Bonnie like children… everybody could’ve gotten a three-way call Dan and Bonnie, Gail, and Wayne and his wife and could’ve easily smashed all the rumors and handled everything instead this was drawn out way too long…
I NEVER pass hurtful gossip. It always ends with me whenever I can end it. I stand up for the people I know, etc. But I don’t pass it on. I don’t consider it lying by omission. I feel like telling is worse and adding unnecessary drama. I would definitely check Gail and talk to Wayne about dealing with Gail in this situation. And I would check Dan. But I probably wouldn’t have told the wife. It’s an unnecessary burden and unnecessary drama.
The confusion isn’t the timeline it’s the names because everyone in the story is incredibly childish. Including OP but husband seems like the most mature here , you haven’t done anything wrong but step out of this for your own sake and respect ; don’t go. NTA
Edit : for those who don’t know why I called everyone childish even the OP truthfully admitted it to being high school. This doesn’t happen in a group of grown adults , the OP is childish by continuing the situation instead of easily have stepped away from it from the beginning , she had the choice to leave the situation ( an easier choice ) but kept it going

The rest of the story is this:
Bonnie and Gayle were each in relationships already, and spent a lot of time at OPs house with her husband, and they all became friends and had dinner together all the time with Bonnie and Gayle and their significant others. After the program Wayne and Bonnie got jobs in the same ER and saw a lot of trauma there because it was in a rough part of town. Gail however had the night shift and Wayne lost contact with her but Bonnie didn’t. Bonnie’s boyfriend proposed to her around this time, but the wedding was very far away, 13 hours by driving. OP then found out she was pregnant and that the baby boy would be 9 months old and the time of the wedding, allowing her to leave him with the parents
Last week, Wayne found out Bonnie had a very bad fight with her fiancée, Dan, because Wayne and OP were invited to the wedding. This was because Gail was apparently under the delusion that Wayne was in love with her. Gail spoke regularly with Dan and Bonnie, making up stories of encounters thay happened that really didn’t.
