I cant believe i live in the timeline where the silly battle royale game my friend showed me in 2017 is now the modern driving corporate force behind the resurrection of guitar hero
And hopefully inspiration for Microsoft to greenlight a new Guitar Hero project from Activision (though I think that might have already be on its way).
Except Fortnite is no longer a BR game. It's a platform, closest thing to a gaming meta verse yet.

It’s trying to become a metaverse . You have the normal game modes plus save the world and then they added Lego, rocket racing and Festival(which is basically a mix of guitar hero, and rock band) and this summer they’re adding fall guys.
Not to mention, there’s already a huge Disney verse in the works. That’s gonna be insane. It reminds me a lot of ready player one you just have to see the video I can’t explain it.

@@hotnopgames This is weird and new to me, you think £130 is cheap?? I feel like guitars were way cheaper and bundled with games in the 2000s. I understand that the prices have gone up for guitars since no one sells them anymore and they're getting scarce, but since they're getting produced again I feel like they should be cheaper again, especially since it's a guitar on its own with no game bundles. Feel free to correct me though
With how often Fortnite does updates (every two weeks), I believe they'll add more ways for this to be accessible. They have to be working on alterative methods, because it'd make little to no sense to have this even exist if only like 3 instruments can work with it. Yeah maybe they gave us this support a bit too early and under-developed, but I definitely feel as though it's only the beginning. I hope by the end of this year we get drums/vocals support, and more software/peripheral support.

The Billie Eilish season is intentionally being used as a testing ground for the pro modes. The runtime of it is even shorter than usual, then it'll all be working when Metallica rolls in for the summer.

It's a common bug.
Happens every single game.
That's because everyone who plays Festival encounters that bug on a regular basis.
Best thing is: when you emote, your character gets a stroke
Hopefully in the future there's support for the old xbox 360 guitars on pc.

Learned the hard way that it doesn't work when I booted up fortnite for the first time period and everything kept swapping between keyboard and controller inputs rapidly making everything unresponsive, then when I tried to rebind keys my computer hard crashed. 🤦 Guess I'll dust off my RB4 Rivals Jag for now. Edit: NVM that doesn't work either since it's for PlayStation, even though it connects fine via bluetooth, apparently only the XBOX Jag is supported on pc for now 🙄. Guess I'll dust off the PS4 as well.
Honestly, I expected Xinput be working out of the box on PC. Especially because they already worked with such guitar due to rock band games.
Shouldn't be a hard thing implement, if you ask me.
@@Wesmoen that's what I was thinking too. It shouldn't be that hard to just detect the guitar using xinput and change whatever in fortnite festival accordingly.

To be fair, gamepad mode is quite doable on a hitbox.
The controller support in the game was weird. I was surprised how you essentially still need a controller to set up playing a song or emote in the game. All the walking controls with the guitar are inverted, and the lack of a second thumbstick makes moving around even tougher. I was glad how well it worked in RockBand 4, but I was bummed it doesn't have auto-calibration options. Extremely happy to have a new guitar, even if I am a little down on it.

Fortnite should have a leaderboard for the first FC’s. Legit they record the first 100 as the happen and then those are enshrined so that people can have some idea of the date and time of the history of a song’s FC. Like a trakmania, but not traking the lowest time. IDK if the Fortnite one tracks accuracy.

i dont think the statement was a result of the playerbase being vocal. i think it was always planned to happen but this is the first season with guitar controller support and they've always said they planned on slowly improving on that point with updates.
I do believe they will end up adding drum support pretty soon. Im really not sure about vocals though.
Hoping we get those keybinds on older guitars soon, got my wii les paul working on it and it feels off when playing on pro

Yeah well, they are still dipping their toes onto this, its going to take a while to make everything work like it supposed to. But hey, with you voicing stuff out, they will definitely get there. Its hard to make mistakes with Himothy himself giving pointers.

I feel like the tweet about them adding better support was *not* from us being vocal, I feel they were pretty clear as early as December that when instrument support launched it would be limited to the Riffmaster and RB4 instruments. If we disagreed with that, we had 4 months to vocalize that :/
To an extent I agree but at the same time they know that not everyone had rb4 controllers and not everyone has guitar hero controllers, and they also didn’t have very many riffmasters in stock for pre order, like a few thousand I think, so this leaves many many people out, and realistically all they have to do is add keyboard support then suddenly almost every other guitar is able to be used on pc. I just have a question, there is a way to make believe windows that you are using a xbox one guitar controller?
With this i mean if there is some software or something, that will be awsome for trying the pro mode on festival while they are still adding more compatibility for other guitars
If You have a Pico Santroller guitar with auth USB port, You can connect a Xbox One controller to that port, however You need to force they XB1 mode on the guitar and have the controller plugged and the input of the XB1 Mode pressed (I do mine with 2 dupont cables and bridged). Once the guitar was plugged, start Fortnite and You must see the generic button prompts.
@@user-ks7yb2hj6g this can help with the modded guitars, I was referring to the Xbox 360 guitars, PS3, Wii or the PS2, the "unmodded" guitars, that I was asking, a software to make windows think is a Xbox one guitar even though is a cheap PS2 guitar founded on the trash or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When people say fortnite is a dumb game or a dead game I just tell them to give it a try because even if you’re not a fan of the normal battle Royale, they have a no build mode plus save the world, Lego, rocket racing, festival and soon fall guys, Disney-verse(will have marvel Star Wars and anything Disney related. It reminds me a lot of ready playerone). It has something for everyone and is probably the future of gaming.

Im not gonna lie, beyond the skill that it takes to use this style of controller the chart for Sandstorm on the standard controller is significantly harder, at least thats what it looks like

How did you change the color of the notes?
Not sure why but I’m having a tough time with the game dropping notes on my Fender Jaguar guitar. I’ll be in a continuous little strumming section of a song and the game will say I missed a note.
It’s been happening sometimes on Hammer on notes as well.
I did a comparison of Dirty Little Secret on expert in Festival and RB4 and on RB4 I FC it no problem, but on Festival I can’t even gold star it.
Is anyone else having issues like this?
It’s because it’s all streamed and you have to really mess with the delays to dial it in.
It’s an issue! Where you’ll be playing.. you have to basically hav ethe not held down kinda early! The current players just gotten use to it. Jason paradise mentioned this issue on Twitter.

Well you have to connect the Wii guitar somehow to PC. Raphnet and RetroCultMods v2/3 and Wiitarthing works with FestivalInstrumentMapper
