I saw your drain/weep hole wherethe two guys were hand shoveling into the form but was just curious if there were more that I missed? I really appreciate that you didnt just stick a flat wall there but rather mimicking the surrounding structure. Very nice work!
Thank you! It’ll hopefully look really awesome when I finish it all. 😁👌 no I don’t believe you missed anything. They were shoveling the spoil pile into the wall. Our hose clogged and that was the concrete that came out of the hose once we got it unclogged. So to not just waist it I had them shovel it into the bottom of the wall.
This video doesn’t show the completed process with the carved stone finish. The structure itself (like in this video) is about $25-$30 per sq ft depending on the access. I left it rough because I knew I was overlaying it. If you wanted it finished smooth it would be $35-$45 per sq ft. The carved stone overlay is an additional $60 per sq ft so $85-$90 per sq ft completed. This of course is based on the cost of where I live and will vary quite a bit depending on your location.
We would use flat shovels and keep shoveling from bottom and throw on top, after that start floating it in so its fairly straight up and down and not thick on bottom, then we would carve shapes of stone into it, u need alot of guys for that, the most labor intensive part if shoveling mud from the thick bottom on top to get it somewhat the same thickness
It’s definitely holding. It’s been backfilled and driven on. Yes. Hopefully next year I’ll start the follow up on the actual carve coat. It will mimic the bed rock that I tied the wall into.

That battery powered wire tie blows my mind. Back when I worked construction I was bent over with a pair of lineman pliers and a wire reel.
I used to use pig tails and ties. Come to find out my back didn’t like it. 😂 so I got one.
This video is FANTASTIC. Thank you for the step by step
You’re welcome and thank you!!
I'm studying for my landscape architecture exams and found this super helpful. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!!
Absolutely beautiful! The video without saying anything explains everything! Thank you for the video :)
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed and got something from it.

This is a fantastic video. Thanks!!!
Well thank you very much!
Great job
Thanks!
Amazing, thank you for posting. What does a project like this run?

I’ve seen that done and yes it does take a lot of guys.
Cool! Hope it retained after second coat; is there a follow up..?
It’s definitely holding. It’s been backfilled and driven on. Yes. Hopefully next year I’ll start the follow up on the actual carve coat. It will mimic the bed rock that I tied the wall into.
Nice production.
Hey thank you!!
Would of liked to seen more. Do you just spray one side?
Yeahp. Just one side. The backside gets backfilled with stone then capped with dirt.
Howdy- nobody that I know of around these parts does anything like this. What you are doing is pretty impressive. Take care and God bless
Well thank you very much sir!
4:55 What is the name of that fabric? thanks
It’s just a roll of burlap.
I've done lots of shotcrete. Not many guys here know how. Being the nozzle guy sucks on a long pour.
Yes it does. We took turns but every one was still pretty exhausted.
What's shotcrete costing you per yard??
About 157 per yard.
@@TheHiddenHomestead Damn, sounds cheap. My local guy wants 300 a yard, that includes the pump and scraping. Too high? I'm in Texas.
Reason I ask, I've got an 8ftx16ft x 8ft deep hole I need hosed down. I'm doing the digging and reber so they can blow and go. Thank you.😉
@@jagboy69 oh 300 is with labor and pump? The 157 per yard is just for the concrete. It doesn’t include labor for spraying or setup or the pump
@@TheHiddenHomestead So I guess I should just pay the man.. lol
Funny watching non shotcrete guys have a crack. Got to DC shotcrete page that guys a beast! He sprays with two hoses on his shoulder.
That would definitely make him a beast!
Cool & all.... but can do without the music.
Oh. Ok. Soooo I don’t know. Maybe use the volume button?
@@TheHiddenHomestead Oh. Ok maybe.... choose better music that's not overpowering the video??? 🤷♂️😅
I have better process
Very good then. You’ve not really contributed anything though by just sharing that tid bit of information. Care to elaborate a little?
if you're construction worker, it looks bad with you day off shoes, please that doesn't give a safety example.
Huh??
Lmao Osha doesn't even have to go out to job sites now. Idiots just post their violations and company logo to go along with them for the world to see.
