    This was the best review I have seen for this saw. Short, to the point and you covered every detail about the saw including equipment storage and the rolling cart. I just bought one. I found Amazon had the best price of $529.00 with free shipping for Prime members. Thank you for taking the time to make such a great review!

    Thanks for the review, I just purchased this table saw today and will put it to work tomorrow. I needed a portable one to work in my house as we are remodeling it ourself and the 300+ contactor saw i have its way too heavy and decided to go with this one. Will see how it works but im sure it will perform very well. I also bought it for $529 at my local HD. Thanks again for taking the time.

    Very even handed review and critique. Good features were pointed out as well as features that have room for improvement. I have a ShopSmith that I have owned for about 40 years. I have never used my ShopSmith very much because I have the greatest need for a table saw in which mode it is terrible. I wish I would have purchased this Dewalt table saw years ago.

    I have the 745, but I assume that these Dewalt saws are all the same platform. For the money, there’s much to be appreciated about them. I don’t believe their principal purpose is fine woodworking, but I’ve made projects of white oak and hard maple that have had precise joints.
    However care has to be taken. I have gotten pretty good truing boards up with hand planes after cuts and will change saw blades for specific to the cut (ie. a 50 tooth cross cut blade with a zero insert if I’m cutting 1.75” hard maple against the grain).
    Cuts are consistent with this saw but Eork has to be done before joints are “glue ready”.
    I agree that the miter slots are not accurate-I tried sanding them and still could get my Rockler taper jig to go smoothly through. Same with crosscut dled I made. Therefore I use miter saw pretty heavily and hand plane some of my tapers.
    Still, all in all, one can do great things in one’s driveway with these saws. A great way to start out in woodworking.

  • @number1pappy

    How secure is the motor mount? Have you noticed any blade wobble? Can it make multiple repeated cuts consistently without having to readjust? Thanks! Reason I ask is because I don't have a dedicated shop. I'll be needing a portable table saw but I also don't want the blade wobble and inconsistent cuts that other contractor table saws have. I heard really good things about this one but, I wanted to hear it from someone who has had one for some time like you have. It would have been nice to see the motor mounts in this video as the local lowes were I live does not have one on display. Anyways an honest answer as to any wobble or inconsistent cuts would be appreciated! Thanks again 😀

    • @Woodified
      @Woodified  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The motor seems well mounted. I have not had any issues with blade wobble with this dewalt table saw. I know the issues with contractor saws as my last table saw was a cheap skil saw table saw and the blade would lower itself from the vibrations and it would take a lot of effort to get the blade and the fence square. I've been very pleased with the Dewalt table saw. The rack and pinion fence is easy to adjust. The only issue with the cuts is that the table surface not perfectly flat when you get close to the blade (as shown in the video). Let me know if you have any further questions about the table saw.

    Anyone, at 3:02, just to double check: when you extend the fence all the way out, you are not able to slightly lift the fence upward or move it downward? There is no play at all, right? I am debating if I should exchange the saw or not. Mine has some play to it and the fence is a bit off, especially the thin fence in support orientation. Btw I was able to adjust the thin fence, so it works as a support now. It was sagging before / not leveled with the surface of the table. There is this pivoting screw on the hinges, which is also working as a locking pin. Just loosen it and adjust to correct the issue. Thanks

    • @Woodified
      @Woodified  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just checked my fence support with it fully extended. There is no downwards play. If I lift up on the fence it does have a little upwards play however I don't see the upwards play being a factor especially with a board on the support fence. I think that answers your question.
      Let me know if you have any further questions.

    • @luktish
      @luktish 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Woodified Thanks for your reply, Is you fence perpendicular to the surface of the table? Mine is off by about 0.03". Tilting out. Also it's concaved in one spot. Mind you, that's with the fence set on the table surface, therefore if fully extended, I suspect it will be off even more (depending on the amount of play). Unfortunately I don't have a long enough tool to measure it. Also, while the fence is being mounted on the left hand side, it drags along the surface of the table, with visible bump while going across the miter slot. If extended beyond the surface of the table, the lower edge of fence is below it. I am exchanging the saw, since DeWalt did not want to just send a new rail and fence.

    Years ago we used the big delta in the job site as our main saw to build cabinets and we had a second dewalt table saw (one of the first table saw) . I personally liked that I purchased 24 in max rip, now I just bought the one with the rolling stand for the max rip cut and also to use a full size dado. I took it off the stand = less heavier and easy to fit in tight spaces. I cut outdoor so we don't care about the dust. Dewalt makes good miter & table saws.
