People have Africa on their bucket list but it’s strange, does one not consider the people to be a big part of the beauty the land has to offer or are they the element that deter one from the experience? Imagine the experience of one of them travelling to the suburbs of a western nation. The place may be beautifully constructed and maintained but I wonder how many friendly conversations and gestures one would would encounter. The ppl represent the land, they deserve the same acknowledgment as the views of beaches and wildlife. A bit of an uncomfortable feeling Mogadishu on fear but no judgment. Just a perspective not an attack

I appreciate that you were being so open about your fear. I also travel a lot by myself, and sometimes I am also scared in a completely new environment with an unfamiliar culture and language - it's harder to guess if people around have good intentions or not. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!

It’s a beautiful country with warm & hospitable people! No need to worry but will just tell you when you pass by Kariakoo (biggest market in east Africa) you need to be careful & hide your most expensive items or iPhone 😂,,,explore the beautiful beach, hotels, make sure you take time to eat the street foods like chips mayai or fried cassava!
    Enjoy your time there!🇹🇿

Maybe it’s always good to do some research about a country before visiting it, especially if you’re travelling solo. Starting a travel journey with the words “I’m scared” doesn’t really bode well. Tanzania is one country in Africa, it’s like me travelling to Germany and concluding that it represents the whole of Europe because it’s a European country. I know you’re just being honest and I do respect that but nobody where we go in the world, who we’re with, and who we meet, it’s good to go with courage and an open mind

So I made sure to watch until the end to reserve my initial judgement based on the intro. I have a lot of thoughts and questions. 1) Is there missing footage? I ask because I saw nothing terrifying at all throughout the entire video. 2) If you are that put off by people who are different from you, why would you go to a continent full of them and all by yourself? 3) What was so menacing about people saying "Hello" and "Welcome"? It's all giving Karen Goes Abroad. Please do better.

Born and raised in Dar. "Hello" is "Jambo." Never ever had a problem riding my bike at 4 thru villages, saying, "Salaama" to Muslim types and Jambo to the rest....I will teach you an easy saying, "Haraka, haraka, hyena baraka!" "Haste, haste, no speed!" Will bring a smile. Chicken is "cuckoo." Super easy language.

I think it is more likely you would be robbed in America or dodgy parts of London. what people in the west dont understand is that Africans are probably the most friendly people in the world. Enjoy your trip. Peace.

I was kid and we lived in Dar Es Salaam in two years between 1976-78 and i have not been since there. I am pretty sure that the town city are much more advanced today and the buildings more safety like communication too. It was difficult before than today. When we did arrived to Dar Es Salaam i was chocked to see total new culture than in Sweden. The color in Tanzania was much better and richer. Like clothes and food was more difficult but also warning about bad water. I am pretty sure today there is better international food to choice. Have a nice life! 😃

You are right about this but she is just making a click bait title for views. However the majority of people in the US, while keeping them in their houses, are not walking around carrying guns at all, and the generally police service is better than africa.
Also as a white woman it’s true that people always come after you trying to exploit you because they always assume you are rich, plus being a woman an easier target. That doesn’t happen for natives.

She SURVIVED? You undoubtedly mean she survived by chance or by means of good lucky while, in reality, I'm pretty sure Tanzania is much safer than countries you mentioned above!
      .
You'll never hear a tourist get kidnapped or killed for whatever reason. As she said, the only threat is pickpocketing, and most likely for her, possible snatching of her camera.

Pls don't turn this into something is not. When I say survived its basically talking about the many times she said I'm sorry I showing that I'm scared but continue to say I am legidmently afraid ok. Yes there are places that are risky to go too seriously I guess you never heard of a tourist getting kidnapped because you never looked into it🤗 I have also my niece and I went to North Africa Our own native Morrocan roots ok first they warned us if you leave the tourist area can't guarantee your safety same in South Africa also Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya so yea I do know what they've told us is true. Theres a high risk that they take their own people that come in from other countries for money. So I'm not saying it will happen but there's a big risk factor period.
Again perhaps you have more information as to why you feel its safe anywhere anyone travels but one can never tell and I've been a traveler for a very long time. Yes first thing is do research get on embassy site to check... if you get on the site it will certainly explain the big risk and what level of danger is that country but I'm sure it doesn't matter so many take the chance anyways. So you questioning me doesn't make me wrong or you so right because that's your opinion and simply this is mine. Appreciate your opinion tho. Thanks and safe travels 😊

@@khadijahannisa6029 C'mon, STOP exaggeration! When I said, "you'll never hear about tourists being kidnapped..." I talked about Tanzania, and I know YOU KNOW it coz' I clearly said "I'm pretty sure TANZANIA is much safer than countries you mentioned..." Does that sound like I was talking about other countries? So, why trying to defend your argument by giving examples of other countries?! And though you generalized by saying "Locals ALWAYS ssy its not that dangerous really" but Tanzanian locals gave her an honest advise that "be careful with your camera and pickpocketing"!
      .
In most cases, above is done by petty thieves, and you'll rarely be harmed coz' what they do is just to snatch, and RUN!
So, it's obvious I'm RIGHT about what I said that's why you try twisting only to defend your argument!
      .
Btw, who doesn't know about security problem posed by Al Shabab in KE and Boko Haram in West Africa?! Who doesn't know about crazy South Africans? But for Tanzania, I can confidently repeat "IT'S SAFE HERE"!
So, even you Khadijah, you're welcome! Of course, you can come across some unpleasantries but I'm certain, will be similar unpleasantries that you can also face in many other countries including your own country or town!
