Imo, if there are plants in the house or not, there always be chance for bugs and pests to enter. perhaps to prevent it, plant the vegetation that hated by them like lavender, mint, etc. this comment is open for discusion.
The micro climate inside the house is such a great concept. All urban homes need this so we can survive the dreadful summers. beautifully executed project.
I get that this is about appreciating the architecute of the house, but I've got to say the filming and editing is getting soooo good. Love the quality of film making.
I like the fight part and the Solution that came through. 😊 I still believe the House has the Clients Soul and the Architects ideas to it. 🙏 Beautifully done, as if it was always there. 👏👏
I love the concept of home connected more to the nature. But anyone either architect or owners of such houses can share the experience how to maintain these kind of house without insects, snakes or other dangerous creatures. Also concerned about overall safety.
Exactly..How much brave we may think we are, openness feels a little intimidating during night time. That's why when I planned my home I clearly said the architect that there should be separation between nature outside and home inside. Behind the shut doors we can have the entire house at our disposal without fearing even a shadow. And the nature is right there outside whenever we need it. That being said, this house and its design is very beautiful indeed.
Listen to the guy...it's built on an idea of co-living...Why we Indians are so scared of animals and insects? You should be more worried about humans than animals...
Simply brilliant architecture and a very understanding architect, with a family that know what they want, the result is beautiful. Original, comfortable and pleasing to the eye. India's next big export will be its architects and their wonderful creations. Thank for sharing and inspiring.
Wow! This is truly my dream house. It takes me back to 2016 when I lived in Auroville, a place known for its architecture. Although I do recall frequently encountering snakes, which always terrified me. But the style, architecture, and overall aura of this place are simply amazing.
I’m genuinely asking this question, wouldn’t the humidity and the climate of Kerala, the climate conditions inside the house even more humid and hot or is there something being done regarding that?
Amazing design and loved the openness all together...excellent work dreaming of staying there but the only problem is huge maintenance and dust accumulation ..some what safety also...but really loved it...मगर इतना पाने के लिए कुछ तो खोना बनता है..
The house is beautiful! I was wondering about the safety and security part though. There are glass doors leading out of a ground floor bedroom. How did you address the need for security?
mosquito nets are available. One of my relative house has plants inside like this even though not this much. They have placed mosquito nets in doors and windows(openable type). And i have stayed there for somedays , never have i incurred mosquito problem there
If we bring nature inside along with its pros we get the cons too. Even if it may be seasonal, invasion of mosquitoes can make living in these open common spaces very difficult, or else they have to fix nets in every opening, which may look super ugly. There was a time when people wanted to keep rodents, ants and other pests out of their houses, and a home which can really protect us from rain and wind. For many rainy season was a nightmare as utensils have to be placed everywhere to collect rain water seeping down the tiled roofs. Now a days the trend has reversed by inviting all nature elements inside and has got the charming name 'living with nature'. Of course modern technology is trying to achieve the best out of this concept, but at a very high initial and maintenance cost. But many years down the line the cons slowly start to outweigh the pros, then either we have to adjust, or find solutions which is again costly. Many times architects seems to push the clients into this concept as these homes have the initial wow factor and can make breath taking TH-cam videos out of it, which can advertise for them. When I planned my home I clearly said the architect that there should be separation between nature outside and home inside. Behind the shut doors we can have the entire house at our disposal without fearing even a shadow. And the nature is right there outside whenever we need it.
whenever we see beautiful architect built houses we see luxurious, beyond reach of common man. as some one had rightly pointed out, how the safety is guarded, is never explained... Share some simplistic designs too...
The architectural concept is visually striking, and the home appears truly remarkable. However, I have concerns regarding the adaptability of such designs, as they seem best suited for tropical or mild temperate climates. In recent years, Kerala has experienced rising temperatures due to global climatic changes, including phenomena such as El Niño and global warming. As a result, the increased exposure of open spaces to the environment may lead to uncomfortable conditions during the summer months. Currently, Kerala's heat levels are becoming comparable to those experienced in the Middle East.
The house looks great , but it's not practical , as in , it would require constant sweeping of fallen leaves, after certain time the water used for plants will seep through walls, bugs and insects and snakes would start inhabiting the place and you wouldn't even spot it.
One shoudn't clean the "plant litter" as it helps to cool down 👍🏻 Weeds between paving cracks can reduce the temperature of the ground by up to 28 degrees Celsius and thus make a valuable contribution to combating heat stress in cities. The Spanish urban planner and architect Ángel Panero discovered this - more or less by chance.
Very nicely done. but
Very stunning but it would be impractical in a place like Meghalaya where I’m from as we get very strong winds with rain and the whole house will get wet 🥹and will be a pain to maintain

No matter how many years you study , its hard to close all gaps in this type of a project in long run.. this type of open concept in tropical climate will have issues from all types of bugs and insects. He mentioned lady in the house was against it and also mentioned the word argumets . He got the views and next client i guess ...hope house owner will be happy in the long run

It’s a living house. Amazing ! on a lighter note, if this house is locked for six months, nature will take over this house
it's a bug and mosquito heaven. it's a hell.
Exactly
I want a honest client reply on this.
If it's not a viable option, y r more houses being bulit in such concepts?
I m always wondering ,in kerala there always a risk of snakes/scorpion or poisonous reptiles to get into such green indoor houses right?

Amazing home...Salute to architect and the owners...the way the architect connects inside with outside thats fantastic...Kudos

When you bring nature inside, you bring everything in the nature into the house, including mosquitoes the insects and possibly maybe snakes.

What about mosquitoes, insects and lizards? Won't they infest the house with so many plants inside?
Your part of nature if you define your space, they won't occupy it

"This design is simply stunning! The traditional design elements blended with modern touches create such a timeless aesthetic. It's beautiful ❤
The house is beautiful! I was wondering about the safety and security part though. There are glass doors leading out of a ground floor bedroom. How did you address the need for security?
1. How to deal with mosquitoes?
2. What about safety of house as glass can be easily broken for entry in house.
Buildofy will not respond, nor the architects 😅
