    If you're going to use text to speech then at least don't give it abbreviations.

      You need to be precise - pedantic, actually - in the editing. Matilda I should read Matilda One.

    Agree, pity about the robotech voice and abbreviatons"Rommel backlash es immaginative"! around the 7 minute mark. Pity also about the continued use of Valentine, Covenentor and A11 footage. Don't these people check the footage first. Sometimes you have to give up listening. Didn't mention the Russian use, even though they showed film of them....poor show.

    The Matilda II was NOT a development of the Matilda I just in case some here thought that it was.
    The wheels at 1:50 and 3:11 are those on a Valentine.
    The two biggest disadvantages of the Matilda II tanks were its slow speed and its small gun. It also lacked a high explosive shell most of the time and thus could not clear infantry or anti-tank emplacements.
    The small gun was a major handicap for many British tanks.

    • @howardchambers9679
      @howardchambers9679 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Small gun? It was a 40mm which at the time could penetrate ALL German armour in 1940. Admittedly the HE round wasn't issued to tank regiments but it was a weak round anyway.
      To put it in context, the best anti tank gun the Germans had was the 37mm. The Matilda mk II was impervious to it. Not only thick armour, but spaced at the front. The only round the Germans had that could penetrate it's armour was the 8cm flak.

      @EllAntares ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@howardchambers9679 about that time Germans moved to equip Type III with 5.5 cm KwK and contemplated 7.5 cm. And small caliber sabot while penetrating armor sometimes didn't do much else.
