Fun Fact from September 2024: His (Paul Giamatti) Dad was the MLB Commissioner for less than 200 days before dying. In that time, he banished Pete Rose from the MLB.
There was such a sweetness to this episode, how they opened him up, got him laughing, supported him sharing his dreams of what he wants to do next. Guys being funny and supportive and vulnerable. Love this representation of masculinity!
Great episode. The full throated laughter that Giamatti let out when Will said he wanted to take Sean to the Mediterranean and serve him a hummus diet was hilarious. I must've rewound it 3-4 times. Great guest.
Holy Moly! You Fellows finally got it right. How many tedious time consuming podcasts did I have to listen to, to get the goods!? Sir Giamatti finally lends credence and legitimacy to all your previous efforts (he is an actor's actor and a person's person)!!! I am glad you finally made it... Hopefully it will not be all downhill from here....... Love you guys! Keep on Choogin'...
Paul its called Tsundoku its a Japanese term for wanting to collect books as comfort to have them around you regardless of reading them :) P.s love your work! Love youuuu guys!
1:01:07 Hundreds of episodes, practically each episode ending with, we should get together and bla bla, and this is the first one where it sounded super genuine. I want to be at that dinner. :D
I’m binge watching ozark now Laura Linney looks like she is having fun, it’s awesome the show I’m biased though Jason Bateman is my favorite that’s super embarrassing
I wear a bandana almost daily in Summer. I'm a sweater. Pity me. I, thankfully, don't think that the do-rag looks that bad. I sometimes wear it UNDER a baseball cap. 😳
Smart. Paul is such a great character actor. Perhaps the Harry Dean Stanton of our generation... How about a guitarist??? I mean i know Jeff Tweedy happened, but...
Hiya - on my way to Unsubscribe - have been a subscriber for awhile - haven't listened to any of your content since Audio only - BUT I saw Paul's name and said I will give it a go again bcz he is the GOAT at what he does. *Ugh* is the kind word for "trying again" with this channel. Anyhoo - thought I would do an "exit comment" and let you know that an Audio Only format is unbeilievably untolerable when you are listening to you three talk about all the "background visuals" of each others screens (I made it 6 mins in). It "almost" feels like it doesn't even matter what your listeners are thinking about anything you do. Sooooo on that note...
I swear to God, the fact that this man doesn't have an Oscar is proof that it's not 100% about performance and actual acting.
Yup
One of the funniest episodes. Unexpectedly laughed all the way thru.
I think Paul makes it comfortable … I really do

As soon as I saw Paul Giamatti's name, I stopped what I was doing to listen to this podcast. Longtime fan of his

Damn I love Paul soooo much. His curiosity is infectious.
Literally in tears over here 😂 that theater story was WILD
Brilliant show guys, love me some P.G.
The boyz deserve to get their 100k YT plaque already.
I LOVED Lodge 49!!
I have a massive crush on Pauk Giamatti! And his visit on the podcast was great! And the other three guys on the show were ok, too😅
Love this and Bateman and Giammatti and the podcast and all of it.
Agree with everyone that this one was extra funny!
You’ve had some great guests, but this episode is the best one so far. All the banter and stories felt honest and real. Such a funny episode.

Heard this great guest
Been a fan for years and the fact his father was the baseball commissioner slipped my mind
Funny how the actor who’s played such great assholes sound very sweet and kind. Can’t believe he doesn’t have more awards. He is so good!
Underrated actor. He should play Homer Simpson in a live action movie 😆
this is perfect casting
Yes! Agree on both points.
Bateman let's meet up again
Wow I didn't know his dad was the commissioner of mlb never put them together interesting

when three comedians convey her glass eye actual. comedy gold. 11.5/11.5.
