The back 180 tip is so helpful! I have back 180s down, but can't shifty into a back 50. Now when I think of backside 180 it helps so much. So dope dude thank you for this video!
this video addresses all of my fears and concerns on backside 5050. I can FS 5050 in Ollie, Nollie, Fakie and Switch comfortably. never knew why ive been so scared of the BS
the problem with my back 5050's i found that i leaned back a little too much which always caused me to ride out like a feeble and i found it really helped to lean forward crouch-like.
I know this is an old video. But I’d just like to reiterate that you give really good suggestions. All of this along with your Slomo clips is really helpful.
I don't ever think I am going to slam. I always think I will make it or I wouldn't even try it. If you skate long enough you will begin to think like this too.
Makes sense but the mental battle is real. Sometimes I feel super confident and commit 💯 but other days can't shut my brain off and over think things and hesitate
For me I always find it more consistent if I look underneath me at the ledge/curb behind me, that way I can see both feet. When I look forward I often find my back truck doesn't land in perfect spot as I can see my front truck but not back truck
The issue with bs 5050 is not impaired vision, for some people turning and aiming backside is incredibly difficult, like me for example I can do a fakie , front side 180 , completely blind first try every time , with ease , because my toes are out in front , but heel front is harder than skating switch or nollie , this is a form of chirality
I skate for 28 years now and still struggle with bs 50-50. HAHA For me nollie bs 50-50 is much easier than the regular one. Also nollie bs 5-0 is much easier for me than bs 5-0. Its crazy! I know how to do them but they are hard to commit. But i will not give up until i get them back.
I think fs 5050 it's easier because when you suck your feet up they go forward infront of you, they don't just stay under you. Basically you can be parallel to the ledge and still get on. For bs 5050 you need a little angle and scooping the board behind you to get onto the ledge. I don't feel blindsided or anything though.
