A breakthrough for me was learning to control the direction of my shoulders. I think that's important to this trick, because if you over-rotate and have your shoulders perpendicular to the ledge, you'll slip out almost every time. Your shoulders need to remain nearly parallel to the ledge throughout the trick (unless you pop out fakie/switch, of course). Might seem obvious, but this detail eluded me early on.
How do you keep the board with you on the rotation without turning the shoulder? I can do front tails without really using shoulders but bs doesnt work the same for me atleast
Since you mentioned it in this video, backside 50-50. I struggle with these and end up most the time getting like a backside willy, never getting the back truck up.
What part of the back foot do you aim to push with? Instep down and back kinda Smithy? On your toes and butt back like dodging a bat to the ribs? What?
Umm, I skipped ahead and learned nollie bs tail. I can't bs 50 or 5-0. I want to learn how to pop in to a bs tail. I'm not afraid to slide cus I got it nollie lol. But juss need a tip brobro.

I did not notice that, great point
Damn so that’s why I slipped out and SMACKED my knee on the ground really hard , shoulders weren’t parallel to the ledge during the slide
You just saved me lol this is the tip I came here for

turn your back shoulder towards the ledge!! your wheel will lock in and stop you from rotating more than you need to

@@stillgotpaper lol sadly no they got better, but I honestly never have gotten backside tricks down as well.
